...Says Tinubu Project Is Paramount, Warns Double Standard Members

The Founder of Ajisope Development Initiative in Osun State and the Aare Musulumi of Oba land, Alhaji Abdul Kabiru Okikiola Adeoye Ajisope, has declared his total and unflinching support for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections.

Alhaji Ajisope made the declaration on Thursday while addressing a large gathering of his followers and members of the initiative at the organization's secretariat located at Oroki Estate, Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

According to the grassroots mobilizer, the sole focus and political direction of the Ajisope Development Initiative at the moment is the successful reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.

He charged his teeming supporters across Osun State, particularly within Osogbo, Olorunda and Orolu Federal Constituency, to remain resolute, united and determined in pursuing the Tinubu 2027 project, which he described as more paramount to him than any other election.

"Our focus now is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Tinubu 2027 reelection project is paramount to me than any other election. I want all our members to be resolute and committed to this cause," he declared.

The Aare Musulumi used the medium to issue a stern warning to doubting Thomases and those exhibiting double standards within the political space, advising them to steer clear of the development initiative if they are not ready to be loyal and committed to the Tinubu reelection agenda.

Alhaji Ajisope, while recalling his bitter experience during the last governorship election in Osun State, expressed displeasure over how he and his group were treated despite their massive contributions and sacrifices before and during the election. He lamented that the Ajisope Development Initiative was not recognized or appreciated for its efforts.

He however said the past experience has taught the group a valuable lesson and will guide its future political engagements.

Earlier in their separate remarks, leaders of the initiative drawn from the three local government areas that make up Osogbo/Olorunda/Orolu Federal Constituency appealed to members to put the past behind them and embrace a new course with renewed vigour.

They enjoined members of the Ajisope Development Initiative to remain united, shun divisive tendencies, and work assiduously for the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, noting that the initiative has what it takes to deliver massive votes for the President.

Osun 2026: How Hackers rigged Guber election in favour of Adeleke as Civil Societies Coalition call for Investigation

The outcome of the recently conducted August 15,2026 Governorship election Osun State is yet to be laid to rest as Civil Societies Coalition under the aegis of Liberation Movement of Nigeria (LMN) and Vanguard for Human Rights (VHR) have disclosed how the last governorship election was rigged in favour of the current Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke.

The Coalition calls on the security agents and International Community to set up an independent investigation panel to unravel those behind the classical rigging of the last Osun Governorship election.

According to the Lead activist of the Coalition,Comrade Ganiyu Abiola, in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, alleged that the election was rigged before the poll started on the election day.

Comrade Abiola also alleged that the hackers had hacked electoral umpire system (IREV) in collaboration with the technical staff of the electoral body,adding that the figures contained in the election sheet results of INEC form EC8 were different from the election results transmitted to the IREV which was used to declare Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the guber election.

The Coalition further alleged that the HACKERS were camped in neighborhouring States of Ondo and Oyo where they mapped out the strategies on the eve of the election to carry out their nefarious actions.

The rights activist further stressed that the HACKERS were able to tamper with the election results of few local government areas of the State including; Ede North,Ede South,Egbedore and others.

The Coalition, therefore,urged the concerned parties not to sleep on the man made noise surrounding the acclaimed electoral victory of Ademola Adeleke by approaching the Court as the Coalition had concluded plan to write the petition to the security agents for discreet investigation on the alleged evidences of hacking the INEC system.

Meanwhile,the Coalition revealed that a prominent members of the syndicate ,one Mr. Seun Ilori had confessed being one of the alleged HACKERS.

Earlier, the former Governor of Ekiti State,Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose had advised the parties concerned that not satisfied with the outcome of the election to approach the Election Petition Tribunal for redress because election results were too closed as Accord Party was not a saint in the recently conducted Osun governorship election.

OSUN EAST AND THE FADAHUNSI RECALL: WHY THE PEOPLE MUST PAUSE AND THINK AGAIN

At a time when Osun State is already navigating a politically charged atmosphere, the reported move by some constituents of Osun East Senatorial District to initiate the recall of Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi deserves sober reflection, restraint and, above all, a careful consideration of what the people themselves stand to gain or lose.

The reported petition to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), premised on an alleged loss of confidence in the senator, is a constitutional process available to Nigerian voters. Indeed, the people have every democratic right to demand accountability from elected representatives.

But the existence of a constitutional right to recall does not necessarily mean that recall is always the wisest course of action.

The fundamental question before the people of Osun East should therefore not simply be: “Can we recall Senator Fadahunsi?”

The more important question should be:

“What will Osun East gain—and what could it lose—if we embark on this difficult and potentially disruptive process?”

That question deserves serious consideration.

*A Recall Is Not Merely a Political Statement*

Recall is an extraordinary constitutional mechanism. It is different from ordinary political disagreement, criticism or the expression of dissatisfaction with an elected representative.

Once activated, it has the potential to consume enormous political energy and public resources while diverting attention from the issues that genuinely affect the people: infrastructure, education, healthcare, employment, youth empowerment, security, federal interventions and economic development.

Osun East cannot afford to allow its political space to become permanently consumed by internal battles.

The people of the senatorial district need representation that focuses on development, not a prolonged political confrontation that may leave the district weaker and more divided.

*WHAT COULD OSUN EAST LOSE?*

*1. Valuable Time and Political Stability*

The recall process will inevitably generate political mobilisation, campaigns, counter-campaigns, accusations and counter-accusations.

At a time when constituents should be demanding more development for their communities, political attention could become concentrated on the survival or removal of one individual.

Osun East has far more important matters requiring collective attention.

*2. Continuity of Representation*

Senator Fadahunsi is presently the elected representative of the senatorial district at the National Assembly. Removing an incumbent through recall would inevitably create a period of political transition.

Rather than spending valuable political capital on removing a sitting senator, constituents could channel that energy towards demanding measurable performance, stronger constituency engagement and greater advocacy for federal projects.

Where a representative falls short, the people have several democratic tools available to them—including public scrutiny, petitions, peaceful engagement and ultimately the ballot box.

*3. The Risk of Deepening Political Division*

Osun East is not the property of one political party, faction or individual.

It belongs to everyone—APC members, PDP members, Accord members, ADC members and supporters of other political platforms, as well as citizens who do not belong to any political party.

A recall campaign could deepen existing political divisions and turn communities against one another.

That is a price that ordinary citizens—not political gladiators—would ultimately pay.

*4. Loss of Focus on Development*

The people of Osun East deserve to be asking their Senator difficult but constructive questions:

Where are the federal roads?

What more can be done to improve access to education?

How can young people gain employment and sustainable livelihoods?

What federal agencies and programmes can be attracted to the district?

How can healthcare facilities be strengthened?

What can be done to improve agriculture, commerce and small businesses?

How can the senatorial district attract greater federal presence?

These are the questions that should dominate public discourse.

A recall campaign risks pushing these important issues to the background.

*ACCOUNTABILITY MUST, HOWEVER, REMAIN SACROSANCT*

Calling for restraint should not be interpreted as a call for citizens to surrender their right to demand accountability. Far from it.

Senator Fadahunsi, like every elected public official, must remain answerable to the people.

The allegations and controversies surrounding him should be subjected to the appropriate constitutional, legal and institutional processes. Recent reports show that the senator has faced criticism over remarks allegedly made during the build-up to the 2026 Osun governorship election.

Senator Fadahunsi has disputed the interpretation of the viral video, saying his words were taken out of context and that he was referring to defending his supporters rather than advocating unlawful violence. The police subsequently questioned and released him.

The National Human Rights Commission and other organisations have also publicly expressed concerns about the reported remarks.

These are serious matters. They should be investigated properly and, where wrongdoing is established, the law should take its course.

But investigation is not the same thing as conviction, and allegation is not proof.

Osun East must therefore resist the temptation to allow political emotions to substitute for due process.

*LET THE PEOPLE JUDGE AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME*

One of the strongest weapons available to Nigerian voters is the ballot.

If, after objectively assessing Senator Fadahunsi's record, the people of Osun East conclude that he has failed them, they can make that judgment at the appropriate electoral opportunity.

Likewise, if they believe he has represented their interests effectively, they should have the freedom to say so.

Democracy should not be reduced to removing whoever happens to be politically unpopular at a particular moment.

It must be about institutions, accountability, evidence, constitutional procedure and the long-term interests of the people.

*OSUN EAST MUST THINK BEYOND PERSONALITIES*

The people of Osun East must ask themselves a fundamental question:

Are we fighting for the future of our communities, or are we allowing political disagreements to determine the direction of our future?

The district stretches across communities with different interests, traditions and political affiliations. What unites the people is greater than what divides them.

They need roads, jobs, schools, hospitals, security, electricity, economic opportunities and federal attention.

They need a representative who will continuously engage with them, listen to them and take their concerns to Abuja.

They also need citizens who will demand these things without destroying the political stability necessary to achieve them.

*THE WISE CHOICE IS RESTRAINT*

The reported recall move should therefore be punctuated with a period of sober reflection.

Let the petitioners exercise their constitutional rights through lawful means. Let INEC perform whatever statutory responsibilities the law places before it. Let allegations against Senator Fadahunsi be properly investigated by the relevant authorities.

But the people of Osun East should not allow political anger to make them lose sight of their larger interests.

*A senator can be replaced.*

*A political disagreement can be resolved.*

*An election can be won or lost.*

But once a society becomes deeply divided, rebuilding trust can take generations.

Osun East should not mortgage its collective future on the altar of political bitterness.

The people should demand accountability, yes, accountability.

They should demand effective representation, absolutely.

They should question their Senator, without fear.

But before embarking on a process as consequential as recalling their elected senator, they must carefully examine the full implications and ask whether the process will genuinely improve their lives or merely deepen political division.

The people of Osun East deserve development more than political warfare.

They deserve representation more than rivalry.

They deserve accountability without vengeance.

And above all, they deserve a future that is bigger than any individual politician.

The time has come for reason to prevail over emotion.

Osun East must pause, reflect and choose the path that protects its long-term interests.

SDP Denies Alleged Alliance with APC, Describes Circulating Letter as Fake

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Osun State has strongly distanced itself from a purported letter circulating on social media alleging that the party has entered into a political alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the document as false, misleading, and the handiwork of impostors.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Osun State Spokesperson of the party, Mr. Alao Jeremiah Adewole, said the attention of the party had been drawn to the fake letter, which was allegedly signed by an individual falsely presenting himself as the SDP State Chairman.

According to the statement, the party wishes to place on record that the controversial letter did not emanate from the Osun State chapter of the Social Democratic Party and should be disregarded by members of the public.

The party further clarified that the purported correspondence did not originate from its governorship candidate, Mr. Salawu Adeniyi Mustapha (M.A.), nor does it represent the position or decision of the party in any form.

"The Social Democratic Party in Osun State is not in any political alliance, merger, or arrangement with the All Progressives Congress or any other political party," the statement emphasized.

Mr. Adewole described the document as the handiwork of political jobbers and desperate elements bent on creating unnecessary confusion among the electorate ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.

He urged the people of Osun State, party supporters, stakeholders, and the general public to ignore the fake letter, stressing that it lacks the approval and authority of the party.

Reaffirming the party's commitment to the governorship contest, the SDP spokesperson declared that the party remains fully focused on its campaign and confident of victory at the polls.

"The Social Democratic Party remains on the ballot and is fully prepared to offer the people of Osun State credible leadership. We urge our supporters to remain resolute and not be distracted by falsehood and political propaganda," the statement concluded.

It was a day filled with emotion, honour, and celebration as the Brave Women Progressive Association officially commissioned the Pa Simon Adebayo Ajeigbe Memorial Bus Stop in Ororuwo, immortalising one of the community's most respected sons whose legacy of service and development continues to inspire generations.

The colourful event attracted traditional rulers, government officials, members of the Ajeigbe family, community leaders, political stakeholders, and residents who gathered to celebrate the life and enduring impact of the late Pa Simon Ajeigbe, a former State Patron of the association.
Delivering her welcome address, the President and Founder of the Brave Women Progressive Association, Evangelist Matilda Farinde, described the occasion as a historic milestone for the association and the entire Ororuwo community.

She noted that the memorial project, which commenced in May, was conceived as a lasting tribute to a man whose unwavering commitment, generosity, and dedication to the association remained unmatched until his passing.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Osun State Commissioner for Government House Affairs, Hon. Soji Ajeigbe, expressed deep appreciation to the Brave Women Progressive Association for immortalising his late father. He described the gesture as one the entire Ajeigbe family would forever cherish, noting that the honour reflected the immense respect the late patriarch earned through a lifetime of service.

Also speaking on behalf of the family, Hon. Justice Ayo Adepele Ajeigbe thanked the association for recognising the sacrifices and contributions of the late Pa Simon Ajeigbe.

She recalled that the deceased was passionately committed to the progress of Ororuwo and had several developmental plans for the community following the emergence of Governor Ademola Adeleke, plans that were unfortunately cut short by his death.

Community leader and Bobajiro of Ororuwo, Chief Sola Ayanbode, described the late Pa Ajeigbe as a true patriot whose life exemplified selflessness and dedication.

He recounted that despite executing contracts in different parts of Osun State, Pa Ajeigbe consistently returned to Ororuwo to employ local labourers and bricklayers, thereby creating employment opportunities for the people of his hometown.

"His love for Ororuwo was evident from his youthful days. He always wanted the town and its people to prosper," Ayanbode remarked.
Similarly, the Ojomu of Ororuwo, Chief Fatai Ajibade, praised the late elder's remarkable contributions to the town's development, saying he devoted his resources and influence to projects that advanced the welfare of the community.
Representing the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate, Comrade Olajide Esan commended the Brave Women Progressive Association for remembering one of its benefactors, describing the memorial as an example worthy of emulation.

He also pledged continued support for the association and its developmental initiatives.
In his royal address, the Olororuwo of Ororuwo, His Royal Majesty Oba Kamorudeen Adeyanju, lauded Evangelist Matilda Farinde and members of the Brave Women Progressive Association for ensuring that Pa Simon Ajeigbe's legacy would never be forgotten.

The monarch said the memorial bus stop was a fitting reward for a man who committed his life to the advancement of Ororuwo and consistently supported the association during his lifetime.

Oba Adeyanju further commended Hon. Ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for 15 August, Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi OFR, who represents Osun East and chairs the Senate Committee on Industries, paid a courtesy visit to the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Engr. Moses Oluwafemi Agunloye (Abikehin Ekun Ilufemiloye), to seek the monarch’s support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

Osun 2026: Youth Advancement Initiative Demands Immediate Release of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) To Eligible Osun Citizens

The Youth Advancement Initiative (YAI), Osun State Chapter, expresses deep concern over the continued delay in the issuance of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to thousands of eligible citizens of Osun State who have duly completed their voter registration, as well as those who applied for transfer, relocation, correction of personal details, or replacement of lost or damaged PVCs.

As an organization committed to youth participation, democratic governance, and electoral inclusion, we consider this delay unacceptable, particularly when the Osun State Governorship Election is only a few weeks away.

The right to vote is a constitutional right and remains one of the strongest pillars of democracy. Any administrative delay that prevents qualified citizens from exercising this right undermines public confidence in the electoral process and disenfranchises thousands of voters, especially young people who have demonstrated their willingness to participate actively in determining the future of our dear State.

We therefore call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately commence the distribution of all available PVCs to eligible registrants across Osun State without further delay.

We specifically urge INEC to ensure that:

- All newly registered voters receive their Permanent Voter Cards before the election.

- Applicants for voter transfer, relocation, correction of records, and replacement of damaged or lost PVCs are attended to promptly.

- Adequate collection centres and clear collection schedules are provided across all Local Government Areas.

- Citizens are not subjected to unnecessary delays, administrative bottlenecks, or last-minute excuses capable of denying them their constitutional right to vote.

With barely about thirty-five (35) days remaining before the election, time is no longer on our side. Every passing day without PVC distribution reduces the opportunity for eligible voters to participate in the democratic process.

The youths of Osun State are prepared to participate peacefully, responsibly, and lawfully in the forthcoming election. However, such participation can only be meaningful if every eligible voter has unhindered access to his or her Permanent Voter Card.

We therefore call on INEC to rise to its constitutional responsibility by ensuring that no eligible Osun citizen is disenfranchised due to avoidable administrative delays.

The Youth Advancement Initiative will continue to advocate for a transparent, inclusive, credible, and peaceful electoral process where every qualified vote counts.

*Federal High Court Orders INEC to Recognize and Publish Salawu-Adeniyi Mustapha as Osun State SDP Governorship Candidate*

In a landmark judgment with significant implications for Nigeria's electoral jurisprudence, the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately recognize and publish Mr. Salawu-Adeniyi Mustapha Olaitan as the duly nominated Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the forthcoming Osun State Governorship Election.

Justice M.G. Umar, who delivered the judgment on 24 June 2026, held that once a political party has conducted a valid primary election monitored by INEC, the Commission possesses no statutory discretion to reject, ignore or refuse to publish the name of the candidate validly nominated by the political party.

The Court further ruled that the Plaintiff emerged from a valid governorship primary election conducted by the Social Democratic Party on 15th of December 2025, and that INEC was under a legal obligation to accord recognition to his nomination.

In one of the most far-reaching pronouncements in recent electoral litigation, the Court declared that INEC's refusal to recognize the Plaintiff's nomination was illegal, unconstitutional, unlawful and ultra vires its statutory powers under the Electoral Act, 2022.

The Court consequently granted several reliefs, including:
A declaration affirming that the Plaintiff was validly nominated as the SDP Governorship Candidate.
A declaration that INEC lacks statutory authority to reject or refuse the nomination of a candidate who emerged from a validly conducted primary election.
An order compelling INEC to accord recognition to and publish the Plaintiff's name as the SDP Governorship Candidate.

The Court equally affirmed that the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, possesses the lawful authority to submit the name of the party's candidate to INEC in accordance with the Electoral Act.

The Plaintiff was represented by Adeyemi Adewumi, Esq., whose advocacy and legal arguments persuaded the Court that the Electoral Act leaves no room for INEC to substitute its discretion for the democratic choice of a political party expressed through a valid primary election.

Speaking after the judgment, members of the legal team described the decision as "a victory for democracy, party supremacy in candidate nomination, and the rule of law."
According to the team, the judgment reinforces the constitutional principle that political parties—not INEC—possess the exclusive authority to nominate candidates, while INEC is bound to perform its statutory duty once the requirements of the Electoral Act have been satisfied.

The decision is expected to become an important judicial precedent in the interpretation of Sections 29 and 84 of the Electoral Act concerning the powers of political parties and the obligations of the electoral umpire.

This position is based on an official circular issued by the National Secretariat of the party on May 17, 2026, which clearly outlines the approved procedures for the collation and announcement of results arising from the National Assembly primary elections.

According to the directive, results are to pass through the following stages:

~ Local Government Area (LGA) Collation

~ Designated Constituency Collation Centres

~ Submission of final results and reports to the National Headquarters in Abuja

The circular further states that no election committee is authorized to conduct media briefings or announce results within their respective states of assignment. Any official communication regarding outcomes, where necessary, is to be made only after the submission of all reports to the National Headquarters in Abuja.

In view of this clear directive, any individual or group claiming that a winner has already emerged in the Osogbo Federal Constituency primary is acting outside established party procedures. Such claims are premature, misleading, and should not be taken as official.

Sources close to the National Secretariat have described the purported announcement as an exercise in futility, stressing that election committees do not possess the authority to declare winners. Their responsibility, according to the established guidelines, is limited to conducting the exercise and transmitting the results and reports to the National Secretariat, where the final declaration of winners will be made.

Party faithful are therefore urged to remain calm and await formal communication from the appropriate authorities at the national level. The integrity of the process depends on strict adherence to the laid-down guidelines, and only announcements made in accordance with these procedures should be considered valid.

The group further stressed that the credibility of the APC at this critical political moment depends largely on its ability to uphold fairness, equity, and internal democracy, warning that any perception of pre-determination could erode confidence among party faithful and weaken collective resolve across the district.

The group, in a statement reacting to an alleged communiqué purportedly issued on Thursday by the Osun West Senatorial Leader of the APC, Hon. Akintola Omolaoye, described the development as troubling and capable of creating unnecessary tension within the party.

According to the group, committed to promoting progressive ideals and inclusive governance within the APC, the reported endorsement is premature and inconsistent with the principles of internal democracy, stressing that all aspirants must be given a level playing ground through a credible and transparent primary process.

It added that internal democracy is not merely a procedural requirement but a strategic necessity, as it fosters inclusiveness, strengthens legitimacy, and enhances the party’s acceptability among the electorate.

The Osun West Renaissance Group also referenced a recent viral video featuring Dr Ogunbiyi, in which he was said to have downplayed the strength and electoral chances of the APC ahead of the forthcoming governorship election. The group noted that Ogunbiyi was quoted as attributing a statement to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu suggesting that the president was not expecting the APC to present a governorship candidate, and that Governor Ademola Adeleke had been invited to fly the party’s flag in the state.

The group noted that, in a highly competitive political environment, public perception matters significantly, and aspirants seeking the mandate of the party must consistently demonstrate alignment with its vision, messaging, and electoral objectives.

Describing the remarks as disturbing, the group stated that such utterances, if accurately represented, raise serious concerns about party loyalty and commitment at a critical time.

“At a time when the APC in Osun State requires unity, confidence, and strategic coordination to secure victory, it is unsettling to associate the party’s senatorial ticket with an individual whose public statements appear to undermine its chances,” the statement read.

The group further anchored its position on existing party guidelines, noting that the National Chairman of the APC, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, had earlier outlined clear conditions for the adoption of a consensus candidate, particularly that all aspirants must willingly agree to such an arrangement.

Quoting the guideline, the group stated that “all aspirants must accede to consensus before such an arrangement can be recognised by the party.” It, however, revealed that information at its disposal indicates that no such agreement has been reached among aspirants in the Osun West Senatorial District.

It emphasised that any deviation from clearly established guidelines could set a dangerous precedent, capable of undermining the integrity of the party’s internal processes beyond Osun West Senatorial District.

“Available information clearly shows that senatorial aspirants in Osun West have not, at any point, agreed to withdraw from the race or adopt a consensus candidate. On that basis, it is difficult to justify how any aspirant could be validly presented as a consensus choice,” the group asserted.

The group further pointed out what it described as an inconsistency in the party’s approach across the state. It noted that in Osun East and Osun Central Senatorial Districts, where the APC currently has incumbent senators, other aspirants have been allowed to purchase nomination forms and prepare for primary elections without restriction.

The group maintained that uniformity in the application of party rules across all senatorial districts is essential to sustaining trust, noting that any perceived disparity may create avoidable grievances among stakeholders.

It is therefore described as alarming that Osun West, where the party is expected to challenge an incumbent senator from the Accord Party, is the only district where such an alleged arrangement is being contemplated.

Dr Ademolekun stated that Osun West cannot be treated in isolation from other senatorial zones in the state, warning that any deviation from established norms could send wrong signals to party members and supporters.

“Why should Osun West be singled out for a different standard, especially in a district where the party needs to mobilise its full strength to unseat an incumbent? This raises serious questions about fairness and strategic consistency,” the statement added.

It warned that political processes that appear exclusionary often result in diminished enthusiasm among grassroots members, reduced mobilisation capacity, and unintended electoral consequences.

Reiterating that imposition remains a “panacea for failure,” the group warned that any attempt, real or perceived, to sideline other aspirants could trigger internal disaffection and weaken the party ahead of key elections.

Reaffirming its commitment to the success of the APC, the Osun West Renaissance Group called on the party’s national and state leadership to clarify the circumstances surrounding the alleged communiqué and ensure strict adherence to due process.

The group therefore urged that all necessary steps be taken to reassure aspirants and party members that the process leading to the emergence of the party’s candidate will be transparent, inclusive, and in strict compliance with established guidelines.

“We urge the leadership of our great party to provide a free, fair, and credible platform for all aspirants. Internal democracy is non-negotiable if we must preserve unity and achieve electoral success,” the group stated.

“We categorically state that at no time did the Presidency invite Governor Adeleke. These are concocted stories designed to distract our members and create unnecessary tension within the progressive fold,” the statement read.

The group also reacted to a statement credited to Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, noting that the remarks, captured in a video currently circulating widely across social media platforms—do not represent the position of the APC in Osun State.

“The reckless statement from Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, as seen in a viral video making the rounds on social media, does not in any way represent the position of our great party. Rather, it raises serious concerns about his commitment to the ideals and discipline of the APC. A true party man, especially one aspiring to represent Osun West, would not act in a manner capable of jeopardizing the chances of the party in the forthcoming governorship election or throw the progressive family into confusion,” the group stated.

According to the youths, credible information available to them indicates that Governor Adeleke had made moves to join the APC but was firmly rejected by party leaders across all levels.

“It is on record that Governor Adeleke desperately sought to join the APC but was rebuffed by leaders of the party at all levels, including the apex leader of our great party, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, the Honourable Minister for Marine and Blue Economy. This is a man who has demonstrated unwavering commitment and love for the APC, working round the clock to ensure that the party reclaims Osun State in the August 15, 2026 governorship election,” the statement added.

Reiterating their warning, the group cautioned individuals bent on pursuing selfish political interests at the expense of party unity to desist or risk political isolation.

“It is unfortunate that some individuals, driven by personal ambition, are overheating the polity and attempting to mislead party faithful. The APC is bigger than any individual, and we will resist any attempt to destabilize it,” they warned.

Addressing participants at the gathering, Abioye expressed appreciation to leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for honouring the invitation despite their tight schedules. According to Abioye, the initiative was part of his personal commitment to giving back to society and supporting residents during the holy month of Ramadan.
He explained that the food bank packages were distributed to ease the burden on families observing the Ramadan fast and to encourage prayers for peace and political success ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Abioye urged residents of the constituency to support the APC governorship candidate in the August 15, 2026 election, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, and his running mate, Aree Benjamin Adereti. He stressed that their victory would bring renewed development and improved governance to Osun State.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Attaché to Spain, Assistant Comptroller of Immigration (ACI) Ayotunde Adigun, on Wednesday delivered an informative webinar lecture to members of the Nigerian community in Spain, focusing on the significance and benefits of the newly introduced passport processing system by the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The virtual session, attended by several Nigerians residing across Spain, was titled “NIS Reform and Benefits to Nigerian Diasporans.” During the lecture, ACI Adigun provided a detailed overview of the ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Immigration Service, emphasizing the modernization of passport application, renewal, and collection processes aimed at improving service delivery for Nigerians both at home and abroad.

In his presentation, ACI Adigun explained that the new passport system is part of broader reforms designed to enhance efficiency, transparency, and convenience for Nigerians in the diaspora. He noted that the digitization of several procedures now allows applicants to complete significant parts of the process online, thereby reducing bureaucratic delays, minimizing physical visits, and improving turnaround time for passport issuance and renewal.

According to him, the reforms are intended to address long-standing challenges experienced by Nigerians abroad when applying for travel documents. He stressed that the improved system ensures a more seamless process for passport renewal and collection, particularly for Nigerians living in Spain and other parts of Europe.

Speaking in Madrid during an interview with Idealplusgist Correspondent, Amb. Tella emphasized the strategic importance of strengthening diplomatic, economic, and socio-cultural ties between Nigeria and Spain.

He noted that the appointment of Prof. Adewole would significantly enhance bilateral cooperation and promote mutual interests between both nations.

Osogbo Grammar School Land Dispute: Clarification On the interest of Public Awareness.

This press statement is issued solely in the interest of truth and public enlightenment concerning the ongoing dispute over the Osogbo Grammar School land.

It is important to clarify that the Osun State Government does not support, encourage, or protect any form of land grabbing in Osogbo or in any part of the state.

With specific reference to the Osogbo Grammar School land, there is no approval by the government for the takeover, demolition, or alteration of any school structure by one Lekan Salami or any group of person.

Available information indicates that the Osun State Government is already challenging the consent judgment being paraded by the said Lekan Salami, which is allegedly being used as a basis to illegally acquire the school land. This legal step clearly shows that the government does not recognise the said judgment as a legitimate claim to ownership of the Osogbo Grammar School property.

Any act suggesting forcible entry, removal of roofs, demolition of buildings, or intimidation of stakeholders should therefore not be attributed to the Osun State Government, as such actions do not carry government backing or authorisation.

There is also no indication that the government has authorised the use of police or any security agency to harass alumni members or support any private land claim.

The dispute remains strictly a subject of judicial determination, and all concerned parties are encouraged to respect the rule of law and allow due process to prevail.

However, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Larooye II, the Ataoja of Osogbo, has been performing commendably in the fight against land grabbing across Osogbo. Credible information indicates that Kabiyesi will never allow any land grabber to intimidate residents or unlawfully seize anyone’s land. Furthermore, there is reliable evidence that Kabiyesi has taken decisive steps to curb land-grabbing activities and will not permit anyone to defraud or cheat another person.

This clarification is made to set the record straight, prevent misinformation, and reduce unnecessary tension within Osogbo and the wider public domain.
