Nairaland / General / You Are Killing Babies —fani-kayode Sends Stong Message To Tinubu On Niger Coup by idowubankole15(f): 11:11am On Aug 27, 2023
A dear and respected friend of mine who was once our Ambassador to a European country, who has relatives and strong links in and with Niger Republic and who is well versed in security and intelligence matters told me that up to 40 babies are dying each day in Niger as a consequence of our cutting off electricty supplies to them.

According to him these babies die in hospitals and incubators across the country as a consequence of the fact that there is no electricty supply and there is no fuel to power their generators.

This was confirmed by one Dr. Abdoul Djibou, a Nigerien medical practitioner, in an interview with Newsonlineng.com.

They wrote,

"According to a source in Niger Republic, Dr. Abdoul Djibou, there has been reports from Dosso Regional Hospital and Cominak Hospital about the recent spike in infant mortality. According to him, over 40 babies die daily in Niger since the Nigerian government cutoff Electricity supply to Niger and also closed its borders. It has affected hospital badly as they’re unable to power their incubators and other life supporting equipment to assist these babies. He also mentioned that the closed borders has made it nearly impossible for hospitals to access petroleum products especially Diesel and Petrol to power their plants and generators.
This is aside the untold hardships that the general populace are grasping with in Niger. He has made a passionate appeal for the Nigerian government to reconsider its decision even though backed by the ECOWAS. He stressed the need for the Nigerian government to remember that the people of Niger are more like an extension of northern Nigeria. In his opinion, he believed strongly that the ongoing negotiations with the Junta leaders will yield results and stressed the need for the negotiations to be intensified instead of beating the drums of war and upholding the current stiff sanctions that has now crippled the economy and the health sector especially" (Nigeronlineeng.com: Coup Sanctions On Niger Republic Causes Untold Hardship/Starvation/Death).

I cannot possibly confirm the veracity or accuracy of these assertions and reports but if they are anywhere near the truth it is enough to prick anyone's conscience.

Furthermore I doubt that our President, being a humane, rational and reasonable leader, would have allowed this to happen if he was aware of the harsh and cruel consequences of the "cut off all electricity to Niger" policy and that is precisely why it is important to bring it to his attention in this article.

Quite apart from that, according to UNICEF, "more than two million children have been affected by the crisis and are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance" and millions of dollars worth of vaccines for polio and other dangerous diseses cannot be safely preserved or stored due to power outages.

On its own part Africanews.com reports that "The U.N. is spending over 20 times more money than usual on fuel for generators to keep millions of vaccines in Niger from spoiling due to incessant power cuts. The outages are the result of severe economic and travel sanctions imposed by regional countries after mutinous soldiers toppled the country's president last month Country representative for the United Nations Children´s Fund in Niger, Stefano Savi, said it has spent $200,000 powering generators to keep vaccines, including for polio and rotavirus, across the country cold during the first three weeks of August. That's up from approximately $10,000 a month previously and might soon run out of money, he said. Niger relies on neighboring Nigeria for up to 90% of its power, but after soldiers ousted democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum in July, Nigeria cut off part of its electricity supply as part of sanctions imposed by the West African regional bloc, ECOWAS. The sanctions are taking a toll on the population with the price of goods rising, residents unable to easily access cash, and people living in the dark. Now there are mounting concerns it will gravely impact the health system, particularly the ability to keep some 28 million vaccine doses in the country cold. Although there were power cuts before the sanctions, they usually lasted a few hours, but now the cuts are much longer - sometimes up to 18 hours a day, said Savi. UNICEF only has enough money until the end of August and is appealing to donors for emergency funds, he said."

How can we as a nation inflict such damage and unleash such wickedness and misfortune on innocent people who live just across the border from us and who are essentially our people too?

This is unacceptable and especially so given the fact that we are not at war with Niger and the overwhelming majority of our people regard them as our brothers.

This begs the question: is this the way to treat our African neighbours and brothers even whilst we lay claim to seeking and preferring a diplomatic solution to the crisis? Methinks not!

If our claim and intention is to better the life of these people by insisting that they must have a democratically-elected Government and by resisting a military one is our purpose truly served by killing the children of the very same people that we claim we want to help?

Again does this murky and murderous course serve our national and security interests and does it enhance better relations with other African countries?

Does imposing sanctions and policies like cutting off electrical supplies and that, albeit inadvertently, lead directly to the death of innocent babies and defenceless children help our cause, bring glory to our name or give credence or credibility to our so-called fight and quest for democracy?

I doubt it very much.

I call on our leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is currently the Chairman of ECOWAS, to review and reverse this policy and allow us to continue to supply electricity to Niger.

.

This is all the more so given the fact that cutting off electricity to that nation is bringing death, suffering and hardship more to the women and children than to their Government officials and members of the newly-installed military junta.

Surely Niger's suspension from both ECOWAS and the African Union coupled with the imposition of a series of strong economic sanctions including the closing of borders and the imposition of a no fly zone, are enough punishment.

We must never forget that there is a distinction between the Government of a nation and it's people.

Punishing the people for the sins of their leaders and Government is not only unjust and unkind but also counter-productive.

Outside of that It is interesting to note that our French allies and partners, who are amongst those western powers that want us to bring the Nigeriens to their knees and even attack them, recently described Russia's targetting of power grids in Ukraine and denying the Ukrainians gas to power their electricity supply as a "war crime" and "crime against humanity" yet they are encouraging Nigeria to do the same to Niger.

When will the application of these double standards by our French friends stop?

Just in case anyone is in any doubt about the high handedness and excesses of the French in Africa permit me to conclude with the strong words and powerful admonition served to French President Emmanuel Macron by Giorgia Meloni, the courageous, passionate and stunningly beautiful Italian Prime Minister.

In a blistering and thunderous speech she exclaimed the following words with orgasmic passion,

"Macron, your France undermined and destroyed the good relationship we had with Gaddafi, destroyed Libya, unleashed a wave of refugees and immigrants into Europe and appropriated the resources of African countries and plundered their wealth. Children and the underaged work in feudal and inhuman conditions in Niger just for you to take a big percentage of their uranium that powers your electricity and nuclear reactors. Niger has no light and are dirt poor all because of your policies "

What a lady! She has said it all!

Now just in case we doubt her let us consider the words of a towering figure like the former French President Jaques Chirac who said the following at the 21st France/Africa Summit in Yaounde, Cameroons in 2001 where 30 Heads of States were gathered.

He said,

“While speaking of Africa, we must check our memory. We started draining the continent four and a half centuries ago with the slave trade. Next, we discovered their raw materials and seized them. Having deprived Africans of their wealth, we sent in our elites who destroyed their culture. Now, we are depriving them of their brains thanks to scholarships which are definitely another form of exploitation because, at the end, the most intelligent students do not go back to their countries. In the end, noticing that Africa is not in a good state and as bonuses for the wealth we made on its back, we are giving lectures” (Canard Enchainé, January 24, 2001).

If there were ever a public admission and confession of neo-colonial and imperialist malfeasance and malevolence by a reverred and highly respected French leader and collossal figure, this is it.

He was honest, candid and forthright about his nation's egregious and pernicious atrocities and outrageous policies in Africa and we commend him for that.

Yet this begs the question: are these the French on whose behalf ECOWAS is considering fighting a war and invading a brother African nation?

The west may have many African leaders in their pockets and eating out of their hands but the hearts, minds and souls of the overwhelming majority of the African people are with Vladimer Putin and the Russian Federation who are now perceived, rightly or wrongly, as the champions of the oppressed and the architects of a new and just world order.

There is a wind of change blowing in Africa and indeed the world today and every vestige of neo-colonialism, imperialism, pseudo-fascism, economic bondage and fiscal subjugation shall be blown away with and by it.

We have seen this happen with the meteoric and laudable rise in power, glory and influence of the formidable BRICS block of nation's which include China, Russia, India, Brazil and South Africa and the admission of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Argentina, Iran and Ethiopia into that elite club of rising economic powers and giants just a few days ago.

They seek to set themselves free and shatter the shackles of economic dominance and fiscal tyranny of the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the European Union and all the other western powers and their allies.

Again we have seen this happen in Mali, Guniea, Niger, Burkina Faso, Chad and Sudan where the quest for freedom from the bondage of former colonial masters like the French and corrupt puppet African leaders and Governments led to military coups.

Regardless of the legitimate concerns of ECOWAS I expect the same to happen in Togo, Ivory Coast, Cameroons and possibly one or two other Franco-phone countries in the not too distant future simply because each is bedevilled with sit tight, vicious, undemocratic, unelected rulers and tyrants, because the resentment against the French in those countries is palpable and overwhelming and because the desire for Russian support and friendship is astounding.

Nations like Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Senegal and Liberia may thankfully not be in danger of military intervention because they have a measure of legitimacy and because they came to power through an ostensibly credible democratic process but their Governments and leaders MUST be very wary of the level of suspicion, hatred, disdain and contempt that the ordinary people have for the Western neo-colonialists and imperialists that appear to bring so much power and influence to bear over their nations' affairs and for those that are seen as weak, corrupt puppet-leaders who are prepared to put western interests before that of their own country.

These leaders and Government's cannot and must not make the mistake of being seen or regarded as the Chief Poodle, Chief Enforcer, Chief Slave, Chief Slave-Driver or the grovelling and snivelling "yes bwana", "yes massa" Chief House n*gger of the western powers in the West African sub region.

ECOWAS MUST be perceived as a body that brings Africans together and settles their differences in a diplomatic and civilised manner and not a body that can be used by the French, Americans, British, EU or anyone else to exploit us, to further and protect western interests and to fight proxy wars on their behalf.

Frankly the only ones that I can vouch for in this respect are Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ghana's President Nana Akufo-Addo who I do not believe would ever consciously and willingly sell their people down the river.

Whatever the case we must not allow any country in the West African sub-region to be turned into a Zaire under Mobutu Sese Seko or to a Central African Republic under Jeane Bedie Bokassa.

That is the French formula and it must never take root here.

May God guide our leaders!

Nairaland / General / Court Quashes N4.6bn Money Laundering Charge Against Fani-kayode, Othe by idowubankole15(f): 12:46pm On Apr 21, 2023
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has celebrated his acquittal by the Appeal Court of charges of misappropriation of N4.6 billion and money laundering brought against him
by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Fani-Kayode said that God’s grace and mercy fought for him and that his innocence also spoke for him.

His statement is contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle on Friday.

The All Progressives Congress campaign spokesman disclosed that the case lasted seven years.

He wrote, “Yesterday the Court of Appeal quashed the charges filed against me, the former Minister of Finance Nenadi Usman and others at the Federal High Court in Lagos by the EFCC for the misappropriation of 4.6 billion naira and money laundering.”

Yesterday the Court of Appeal quashed the charges filed against me, the former Minister of Finance Nenadi Usman and others at the Federal High Court in Lagos by the EFCC for the misappropriation of 4.6 billion naira and money laundering.

The case lasted for 7 long years.

Glory be to God!

This is the second time the Lord has done this and it is a testimony of His goodness and mercy.

History records that in 2008 I was arraigned at the Federal High Court in Lagos and was prosecuted by the EFCC for the misappropriation of 19.5 billion naira.

Again the case lasted for 7 long years.

Thanks be to God, I was discharged, acquitted and cleared of all charges in 2015.

Yesterday the Lord did it again.

On both occasions His grace and mercy fought for me and my innocence spoke for me.

God is awesome in battle and faithful to His own!

He is my shield, my glory and the lifter of my head!

Nairaland / General / The Cult Of Obidati By Fani-kayode by idowubankole15(f): 6:01pm On Apr 11, 2023
The Obidients are (with apologies to Governor Charles Soludo) "a headless mob" similar to the demonised and emotionally unhinged rabble that insisted on the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ.

They are filled with the same violent, angry, divisive, rebellious, treacherous, mutinous, treasonous, deceitful, mendacious, deceptive, ungrateful, covetous, vain, insatiable and murderous spirit that possessed Lucifer, Son of the Dawn.

Like Medusa the Gorgon, they are a hydra-headed monster comprising of confused, ignorant and frustrated souls with very low self-esteem, a maniacal sense of entitlement, insufferable arrogance and a desperate and psychotic lust for power.

Give them that power and you will see Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Ian Smith, Hendrik Verwoerd, Joseph Kony, Val the Impaler, Genghis Khan, Atilla the Hun and Jean Bedie Bokassa all rolled into one rise from the dead.

Give them power and you will see Caligula, Nero, Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, Jack the Ripper, Augusto Pinochet, Pharaoh, King Herod, Jezebel, Sennacherub, Nebuchadnezzar, the Boston Strangler, Mobutu Sese Seko and King Leopold 11 of Belgium all rolled into one come alive again to torment the world.

They remind me of Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, one of the leaders of the January 15th 1966 mutiny in which many leaders from the old Northern and Western Region were murdered in cold blood.

Give them power and their leader, Peter Gregory Obi, will continue what Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu started.

He will implement the Nzeogwu agenda to the letter and with ruthless and relentless brutality and clinical precision.

No matter how well masked, fascists will always be fascists and a leopard cannot change its spots.

Despite all their seeming humility, false piety, fake righteousness and nauseous, grovelling "yes daddy" expressions of insincere love they are filled with unadulterated hatred for all those that do not share their views and that refuse to tow their obnoxious, venomous and poisonous line.

As the Bible says, "their speech is as smooth as butter but war is in their hearts".

Vile words, hate speech, propaganda, falsehod, lies, threats, insults, turmoil, intrigue, betrayal, subterranean plots, violence, evil conspiracies and the inability to brook opposing views or tolerate dissenting voices are their hallmark and forte.

They are not just a political party or movement: they are a dark, sinister, insidious, destructive, malignant, malevolent, cancerous, divisive, fanatical and dangerous force of vicious and sociopathic subversives and religious and ethnic bigots who are heavily invested in the kingdom of darkness, who have strong connections in the international criminal underworld, who are under the power and influence of western intelligence agencies, who have poisoned the souls and fouled up the minds of millions of young Nigerians and who are hell bent on destroying the Nigerian state and dismembering our country.

They speak Nigeria but Biafra and the total and complete enslavement and subjugation of our people is in their hearts.

They are not democrats in ANY sense of the word and they do not believe in democracy.

They would be better described as a vicious, blood-lusting and bloodthirsty cult who feed on the souls, kindle the barbarity and fuel the depravity of misguided and lesser men and miserable and frustrated women.

They believe in nothing but deceit, lies, propaganda, threats, violence and intimidation.

They do not believe in or serve the Living God and they have no regard for the God of heaven.

They are the quintessential "unbelievers" who use God's name to commit atrocities and to justify their monstrous behaviour, their psychopathic aggression and their wild delusions.

They worship and serve a strange entity and occultic deity known as 'Obidati' at whose alter they offer praises, make sacrifices and serve blood in the bewitching hour of every morning.

They are evil. They are vicious. They are uncouth. They are uncharitable. They are unkind.

They are unforgiving. They are merciless. They are destructive. They are relentless. They are ruthless. They are unjust.

They are divisive. They are vengeful and they must be stopped at ALL costs.

They must NEVER be allowed to come into the circles of power because they will divide, destroy and dismember our great country, bring her to her knees and cause her to perish.

Nairaland / General / The Ugwuanyi Betrayal And A Weep For Enugu North LGA by idowubankole15(f): 12:03pm On Jun 13, 2022
By Maximus Okechukwu

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Nwa David Ugwuanyi) will obviously go down in history as one the worst Governor Enugu state produced in its short history. Even the military that interjected at its creation were not as cunning, swift, evasive and above all daft, as the administration of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi turned out to be.

Let’s look at it. Even ex-Governor Sullivan Chime that brought in Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi considers his choice a mistake because Ugwuanyi does not behave like him. A father can disown his child if the child's behavior becomes ridiculous and that is the disclaimer Chime put on Ugwuanyi. Can you imagine Ugwuanyi priding himself that he bought his Governorship from Chime, and therefore that he will sell his own to the highest bidder!

Ugwuanyi must be drunk with power to have taken the inglorious and cowardice path that he unfortunately toed in the selection process of his successor. The aftermath of the conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial primary election was an outcry of political deceit, denial and the despondency of the losers. The anger and acrimony that followed it was not just peculiar to the direct losers such as the aspirants that participated and those who withdrew from the election, but also the general public’s psyche, whose expectations were not just dashed, but insulted on how the conduct of the election was superintended by Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Chief Okey Ezea (Ideke) who though did not contest for any position is licking the wounds he sustained from the fallacious Governor Ugwuanyi over the tragedy of the boggled equity for Isi-Uzo in Enugu east senatorial district and the Ugwuanyi voracious ambush of the PDP Senatorial ticket for Enugu North senatorial district.

Whereas, there is the hue and cry over the marginalization of Isi-Uzo local government in Enugu East Senatorial district, the tragedy of Enugu North local government council has remained underreported. Enugu North local government council is the landlord of Enugu state and the political precursor of all the local government councils in the state, which by all expectation is not supposed to be an underdog, but that is exactly what Governor Ugwuanyi emasculated the council area to become.

Up till this moment, the Ogui and Ngwo aborigines of the local government council have remained subjugated and utterly sidelined in the polity of Enugu state; a situation that was designed and executed by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. Presently, Enugu North local government council does not have a representative in the Executive council of the Ugwuanyi administration, which the council has contended with, hoping that Justice will be done with the 2023 election. But low and behold, even what the council should ordinarily have was taken away from it by Ugwuanyi.

The House of Representatives seat that rotates between Enugu North and Enugu South was taken away and retained in Enugu South where Offor Chukwuegbo has occupied the seat for three terms. Offor was even arrogant in telling everyone before the election that Ugwuanyi had approved his third term in the House of Representatives and dumped the governorship nomination form that he purchased.

It’s so sad that the former commissioner for Health and renowned physician, Dr. Sam Ngwu was quickly removed because he hails from Ogui, the same treatment was meted out on Hon. Emeka Edeh when he was commissioner for Agriculture and since 2019 Enugu North local government is yet to have a statutory commissioner in the executive council of Enugu state. Emeka Edeh aspired for the House of Representatives but he was denied by Ugwuanyi who aborted the understating or rotation of the position between Enugu North and Enugu south local governments.

Even the House of Assembly position that rotates between Ogui-Nike and Enugu-Ngwo has been violated and tampered with following Ugwuanyi’s return of Ibenaku Onoh to the state Assembly, thereby disenfranchising the Ogui-Nike completely in the 2023 elections. The rotation agreement between Ngwo and Ogui was entered into during the Chimaroke Nnamani administration, but since the Ngwo chose to to listen to Ugwuanyi, it should be ready to loose the chairmanship position to Ogui in 2023.

Ugwuanyi has really never thought well for Enugu North LGA. All the things achieved under the Chimaroke Nnamani administration have been dislocated by the Ugwuanyi administration. Under Chimaroke Nnamani, the Presidential hotel worked, Rangers avenue, Chime avenue were dualised, parklane hospital was upgraded to teaching hospital and other numerous achievements, but under Ugwuanyi the Ogui lands and markets such as the new Artisan have been taken away from them. Even the Enugu central development council was handed over to a non indigene of Enugu state simply because his brother was a friend to the Governor while in the House of Representatives. Why the hatred for Ogui Nike?

The case of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s hatred for Enugu North local government even extended to ensuring that the entire infrastructure in the council area are dilapidated, abandoned and forgotten. The case of the Presidential Hotel which Ugwuanyi ensured that it was never resuscitated is an agony and a hate taken too far. The International Conference Center has remained uncompleted. Instances of other forms of decay and outright neglect of the infrastructure in Enugu North local government are manifest in Ugwuanyi's turn of blind eyes to the urban renewal of the capital city which is domicile in Enugu North local government. His refusal to decentralize the city so as to ease off congestion and lack of water supply to the metropolis are just snippets of the Ugwuanyi disdain of Enugu north local government council.

It is only in Enugu North local government that the agitation for the creation of autonomous communities has been erroneously rejected, yet Governor Ugwuanyi was quick to take the Okaome title, that is historically and exclusively synonymous with the Onoh family, from Ngwo, yet the Ngwo in Enugu North local government is yet to be granted an autonomous community. Late Igwe Tony Ojukwu of Ogui Nike used to be the spokesman of Enugu North aborigines after the late sage, Chief CC Onoh departed, but since Ojukwu’s demise, the metropolitan council went down the abyss, compounded by the Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi administration.

Kudos must go to Hon. Ken Onoh, who like his father is dogged in the struggle for emancipation and was the only governorship candidate from Enugu North local council that went into the race but was fooled like others by Ugwuanyi. Why must Enugu north that hosts the seat of the Lion building be treated with disdain and ignominy, just like Ugwuanyi treated other council areas in Enugu east senatorial zone? The Isi-Uzo story is not as pathetic as the Enugu north story because Enugu North is by far ahead of the Nkanu population in the zone.

With the 2006 population census figure of 244, 852 (which is even obsolete), Enugu North local government is 46.9 percent of the total population of Enugu east senatorial district that was 1, 166, 864 population. Where then lays the equity that Gburugburu cried for when he disadvantaged Ekweremadu to rear his head in the contest of Enugu state governorship? Governor Ugwuanyi no doubt established obvious neglect of a significant majority and he should remember that with BVAS (Biometrics Voter Accreditation System), votes now count.

Ugwuanyi just gave power to 300, 967 population of Nkanu East and Nkanu west LGAs out of 1, 166, 864 population of the six LGAs in Enugu east senatorial zone. That is about 30.1 percent which is not good mathematics. By giving the Senate to Nkanu west and governorship to Nkanu east LGAs without regards to the rest of 60.9 percent of the zone can only come from a daft brain like that of Gburus!

That’s why it was pathetic to have seen Isi-Uzo LGA pay solidarity visit to their greatest oppressor (Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi) only to tell him that they were ‘happy’ with the outcome of the primary elections of the PDP, even when the Isi-Uzo that Nsukka people had so much solidarity for could not get even Senate as alternative, nor Enugu North and Enugu East LGAs; these three majority council areas that Gburugburu mistake for minority could vote out the PDP in the 2023 hurricane that is being powered by the Peter Obi mantra.

Why Enugu north LGA is of much attention is because of the state revenue that accrues to the state which Ugwuanyi accepts that he tripled the IGR collection in his first year of administration. The state IGR is what actually propels the Enugu state government more than the federal allocation. The Ugwuanyi administration has even been adamant on what to do with the Gas leakage in Caritas University, a potential that the state could leverage on to build the state economy. In thinking that he had enslaved Enugu North LGA and emasculated Isi-Uzo, Ugwuanyi made mockery of himself and a prisoner of his own conscience.

Nairaland / General / THE MUSLIM/MUSLIM TICKET By Femi Fani-kayode by idowubankole15(f): 10:29am On Jun 13, 2022
A high-ranking and respected official of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) came to see me yesterday and expressed concern about my disposition towards a Muslim/Muslim ticket.

He informed me about CAN's vehement opposition to such a ticket and said that the leadership of the organisation watched my interview on Channels Television where it appeared that I was not on all fours with them.

They felt this was very unlike me because they know how much I rever my faith and how much I respect CAN and its leadership and how I am usually in agreement with them on all issues.

It was a mark of honor to me that they thought me worthy of sending someone to get an explanation and after thanking him for that we spoke for no less than two hours.

At the end of it all I believe the person understood my position better and promised to convey it to the leadership of CAN.

Permit me to share some of the points I made to him here for the record.

The first was as follows.

It is perceived by many in the APC that a Muslim/Muslim ticket may be the winning formula in the coming election. They believe that it would be politically expedient to take advantage of that and present such a ticket.

It is perceived by others in the APC that a Muslim/Muslim ticket will be a direct challenge to the Christian community in Nigeria and it may jeopardise the chances of our party in the coming election.

I hold the latter view but I have said that if our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, insists on a Muslim/Muslim ticket, I and many others shall stand by him and attempt to defend it as long as his running mate is not an extremist who will undermine the interests of the Christian community.

In this matter we must not allow ourselves to be guided by emotion but rather by our obligation to support our candidate and party, the quest and desire to win the coming presidential election at all costs, political expediency and by what the British call 'real politik'.

And neither is it in any way a betrayal of our values or our Christian faith to take this position because Muslim/Muslim ticket or no Muslim/Muslim ticket we will not sit by idly and allow ANYONE or any GOVERNMENT to undermine our faith or our people.

If Asiwaju decides on a Muslim/Muslim ticket we shall either swim with him or sink with him and, whichever way, given the experience of Atiku Abubakar and the certainty that the PDP will give its Vice Presiidential ticket to a Christian, it will be a hard fight.

I say this because there are over 100 million Christians in this country who feel passionately about their faith and who believe that they MUST be protected and repreented at the highest level.

Those that wish them away, dismiss their concerns and say they do not care about how they feel do so at their own peril.

No matter what the candidate decides he must allay their fears and carry them along because the fear and concerns about islamisation, rightly or wrongly, are very real.

The second point is as follows.

The success or lack of it of a Muslim/Muslim ticket will depend largely on WHO the Muslim Vice Presidential candidate will be.

If it is a Muslim that has a track record of killing, persecuting, denigrating, hating, undermining, marginalising or working against Christians in ANY shape or form, I and millions of Christians all over this country will oppose it decisively and aggressively regardless of the consequences because we will not allow anyone to destroy the Church, intimidate or persecute our people or mess with our faith .

However if it is a Muslim that has shown love and displayed sensitivity to the Christian community over the years and who we believe we can trust, I and millions of other Christians will support it.

It is left to those of us that are Christians to let the faithful know who is who and who they can trust amongst the Muslims in the knowledge that not all Muslims are bad and not all Christians are good.

There are indeed good and bad people on both sides of the religious divide.

The truth is that in an ideal world religion and faith should not determine who our candidates and their running mates ought to be and when it comes to matters of governance I agree with those that say that in this day and age we should not bring religion into it.

Yet sadly this is not an ideal world and in the Nigerian context we must recognise the fact that given our history and our bitter experiences over the last few years, religion IS a factor that cannot be ignored or wished away and this is more so today than at any other time in our history.

In all that we do we must factor in the fears of both Muslims and Christians when it comes to presidential tickets and elections and we must allay those fears.

For example if you insist on a Christian/Christian ticket for whatever reason at least give me Christians that will protect the Muslims and if you insist on a Muslim/Muslim ticket at least give me Muslims that will protect Christians.

Apart from that you must also commit to giving the leadership of the Senate and the House of Reps and the position of the Secretary to the Federal Government (SGF) to members of the faith that does not enjoy representation at the Presidential or Vice Presidential level.

These are just some of the things that can allay our fears.

And interestingly that is what is practised in Lebanon and what is known as the "Lebanese model". They rotate the positions of power and leadership on the basis of religious faith and between Christians and Muslims and this has led to a certain degree of peace and harmony since the end of their civil war which lasted from from 1975 till 1990.

Whichever way we must tread with caution and care about the issue of religion and we must not act as if it is no big deal because it will play a decisive role in the outcome of the election and in the running of the campaign.

We must also endeavour to put Nigeria first and not toy with anything that will divide us on religious or ethnic grounds.

If the APC comes up with Muslim/Muslim ticket, as long as it is a Muslim that has a track record of religious tolerance, kindness and sensitivity towards the Christian community and one that places our nation and the Nigerian people, regardless of their religious affiliation, before his faith, I will gladly support such a candidate and such a ticket.

However if the Muslim/Muslim ticket produces a Muslim running mate that secretly despises Chritians or that has a track record of treating Christians with contempt in his state or constituency or of endangering and wasting Christian lives I will oppose that ticket, that candidate and indeed that party.

We know who is who. We know who the liberals and moderates amongst them are and we know who the extremists and hardliners are.

We know those who allow Christians to be slaughtered with impunity under their watch and in their backyards and we know those who built Churches for Christians where Chirches were never built before.

We know those who publicly mocked our faith, committed blasphemy and made references to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in denigrating and disrespectful tones and we know those that have always treated His precious name with love, decency and respect.

We know those who have publicly likened the Virgin Mary to a street prostitute and we know those who respect our God, rever our faith abd that us as equals.

We know those that are malevolent and that see Christians as inferior beings and mortal enemies and we know those that are benign and that see us as equals and as brothers and compatriots.

I agree that we must do whatever it takes to win but we must also be wary of our choices. You bring the wrong Muslim who is hostile to Christians as your running mate and that will not only be the end of your ambition but will also polarise our country in a very significant and dramatic way.

You bring the right one and we may just be able to push it through and overcome the challenge that our collective detractors and adversaries will pose.

The truth is that it is not ones faith that matters but what is in one's heart.

Whether Christian or Muslim, if we have a heart filled with light, compassion, kindness, love and the fear of God we give nothing but goodness and love but if we have a heart filled with darkness, prejudice, hate, bitterness, evil and contempt and disdain for God we have nothing to give but evil and hate.

More important than anything else is the condition of the heart: whether Christian or Muslim that is what counts.

Again, we must always remember that whether Christian or Muslim or Southerner or Northerner, we are first and foremost Nigerians and that WE ARE ONE!

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's choice of running mate will make or mar our parties chances at the election.

May God lead and guide him to make the right one.

May the Lord grant him the spirit if discernment to do the right thing and may He grant him the courage to stand firm in this great and epic struggle to move our nation forward.

Police authorities, on Friday, accused Ms Precious Chikwendu, the estranged wife of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode of threatening the lives of witnesses lined up in the alleged attempted murder charge against her.

The offence, listed as count 14 in the new amended charge, was alleged to have been committed by Chikwendu and Emmanuel Anakan, a co-defendant, on Wednesday within the premises of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

They were alleged to have “criminally threatened the lives of Bako Maina, Isah Kudaru and other witnesses in the case to eliminate them by death if they insist in testifying in the case.”

The offence was said to be punishable under Section 397 of the Penal Code.

Chikwendu (2nd defendant) and three others were to be re-arraigned before Justice Inyang Ekwo on 14-count charge.
Other defendants in the trial include Anakan, Prisca Chikwendu and Osakwe Azubuike as 1st, 3rd and 4th defendants respectively, while others are said to be at large.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the four defendants were earlier arraigned before the court on Feb. 14 on 13 counts, and Justice Ekwo fixed April 27, April 28 and April 29 for trial commencement.

But in an amended charge marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/01/2022 dated and filed by John Ijagbemi on behalf of Commissioner of Police, FCT Command on April 28,, the ex-wife was also being charged on allegations bordering on attempted murder of her former husband and children.

She was alleged to have carried two kitchen knives threatening to kill Fani-Kayode, the children and other occupants of the house at Asokoro on Nov. 24, 2018, within the court jurisdiction.

An offence said to be punishable under Section 229 of the Penal Code Law.

She was also accused of making false allegations on Nov. 24, 2018 with doctored pictures with intent to deceive members of the public and make them believe that the injuries in the pictures were inflicted on her by her ex-husband.

Besides, Chikwendu was alleged to have “criminally uploaded doctored/photo-shopped pictures” of her biological child, Liam Femi Fani-Kayode, who was four years old, in order to deceive members of the public that the child sustained injury on his forehead.

According to the charge, the offence is punishable under Section 24 (1) (b) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention Etc) Act 2015.

The defendants were further alleged to have committed offences bordering on cybercrime, intimidation to kill the former minister by use of Internet, through which they said he did nor deserve to live.

They were also alleged to have criminally used internet to send abusive messages with intent to bully, defame and harass her ex-husband.

They were alleged to have fabricated false evidence by deposing to series of affidavits that Chief Fani-Kayode physically and sexually assaulted members of his domestics staff in inhuman conduct by causing same to be electronically published in a national daily.

Chikwendu was also alleged to have, through her Facebook page, referred to Fani-Kayode as “Mr Short Fuse,” on Dec. 7, 2021, among others.

The matter, which was second on the Friday’s cause list, was however stalled as the judge directed that the re-arraignment be rescheduled
The case was fixed for June 29 for the defendants to take their plea in the fresh charge.

NAN reports that though the matter came up on Wednesday for re-arraignment, the trial suffered a setback as Justice Ekwo fixed today, Friday, for their re-arraignment.

In a related development, Chikwendu is also answering charges of defamation brought against her by a former lawmaker, Sen. Grace Bent before a sister judge, Obiora Egwuatu.

Chikwendu, who was accused of infidelity by the former minister of Aviation was also said to have withdrawn various civil cases filed against Fani-Kayode.

Although the duo had parted ways, the former minister said Chikwendu had always been given access to her children under closed supervision due to her alleged mental challenges which could result in hurting the children.
Fani-Kayode had also alleged that the ex-beauty queen stopped calling the children on the telephone for some months now contrary to her habit in the past

Nairaland / General / Rotimi Ameachi N96billion Fraud: Can The Supreme Court Redeem Its Reputation? by idowubankole15(f): 2:30pm On Apr 25, 2022
Nigerians wait with bated breath as the date draws near for the Supreme Court to rule on the case between Rotimi Amaechi and the Rivers state government on the legality of the Judicial Commission set up by the state to investigate some aspects of Amaechi's tenure as Governor of Rivers state.

The investigation centred on allegations of fraudulent sale of Rivers state assets by his administration.

The much-awaited ruling as filed by Amaechi seeks to stop his probe in the alleged N96 billion fraud and alleged fraudulent sales of valued assets belonging to Rivers State.

A seven-man panel of Justices of the Supreme court, led by Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, fixed judgment for the 27th of May, 2022 after listening to arguments from both parties.

Amaechi, who is the immediate past governor of Rivers State, is praying the apex court to stop current Governor, Nyesom Wike from investigating his eight-year tenure as governor of the state.

The crux of Amaechi's argument as filed by his lawyer, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, is that the probe was aimed at witch-hunting and embarrassing him, in view of his political differences with Governor Wike.

Wike, who constituted a 7-man panel to probe Amaechi however, is asking the Supreme Court to dismiss Amaechi's suit.

The governor, represented by Emmanuel Ukala, insisted that the Commission of Inquiry headed by Justice George Omereji was to look into how N96 billion was allegedly withdrawn from the treasury of the state government and how it was expended.

Wike also said that the commission of inquiry was to also examine the legality or otherwise of the sales of valuable assets belonging to the state.

The listed assets are:
• Omoku Gas Turbine
• Afam Gas Turbine
• Trans Amadi Gas Turbine
• Eleme Gas Turbine
• Olympia Hotel
• The award of contract for the execution of monorail project.

It is worthy of note that Amaechi had lost previously at both the High Court and Court of Appeal hence his decision to take the case to the Supreme Court.

As the decision date draws closer all eyes are now on the Supreme Court to see how it will adjudicate on this matter.

Will the judgement align with the judgements of the two lower courts or will there be a new twist in the pending judgement?

However, Amaechi is not a stranger to benefitting from certain judicial pronouncements in the past.
We recall the Supreme Court Judgement that made him Governor of Rivers State in 2007.

That Supreme Court judgment of October 25, 2007 overturned the tenure of Governor Celestine Omehia and appointed Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, who did not contest the April 14, 2007 election, in his place. The point that still baffles people today is that a man who was not on the ballot was deemed to have won the election.

Based on the above judicial track record one is not surprised that Amaechi has decided to seek succour once more in the courts, instead of presenting and defending himself before the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by the Rivers State Government to probe the sales of some state assets during his tenure as Governor of the state.

Even though the matter is sub judice we will be failing in our duties if we do not point out some disturbing trends in recent Supreme Court judgements.

Nigerians are asking the following questions:

• Will the Supreme Court once again make herself a useful tool in the hands of politicians?

• Will there be a repeat of the infamous judgement that made Amaechi Governor of Rivers state without contesting election?

• Should we expect another "landmark" judgement that made Uzodinma governor of Imo state even though he came fourth in the election? This particular judgement has turned a once peaceful Imo state to a hotbed of armed insurrection.

• Will the Supreme Court in character with the preceding judgements become a shield for corrupt politicians from facing their day in court?

Time shall tell.

Will Amaechi be two times lucky? That is the question in the minds of keen followers of this long-drawn judicial battle as we await the decision of the eminent jurists come May 27, 2022.

Nairaland / General / Ex-perm Sec, King A.J Turner Emerges New Paramount Ruler Of Oloibiri Kingdom by idowubankole15(f): 6:42pm On Feb 22, 2022
King Amalate Johnnie Turner, former permanent secretary in Bayelsa State has emerged as the paramount Ruler of the Oloibiri Kingdom in Bayelsa State. The new Traditional Ruler is to be known as the Obanibe III, of Oloibiri Kingdom, Bayelsa State.

The emergence of King AJ Turner followed a series of selection processes, which culminated into his choice, on Saturday 19, February, 2022, following the completion of all processes for the filling of the exalted stool.

Oloibiri is a historic town to the oil and gas industry in Nigeria. Nigeria's first commercial oil discovery happened in Oloibiri town by Shell Darcy on January 15, 1956.

The quintessential Traditional Ruler, was born on September 30, 1956 at the rustic community of Opume in Ogbia Local Government Area of present day Bayelsa State, where He rose to become the Paramount Ruler (Obanema) of Opume community in 2007 with the title Obigbo Mikiki 1.

King Turner was raised in his hometown, where he started his primary education. Like all young boys and girls of his generation, his primary education was interrupted by the Nigerian Civil War of 1967 — 1970. After the area was liberated by the federal troops and schools reopened, he moved to St. Michael’s Primary School, Oloibiri, where he completed his primary education and had his First School Leaving Certificate.

He thereafter gained admission to Government Secondary Commercial School, Ibaa, Rivers State, in 1972, graduating in 1976. He secured employment with the Rivers State Civil Service and was deployed to the Audit Department.

In 1977 he secured admission at the newly-established University of Port Harcourt, where he studied History, and graduated in 1981, as one of the pioneer graduands, along with the likes of Dr Goodluck Jonathan and Dr Boladei Igali.

On completion of his university education and mandatory National Youth Service Corps, he was upgraded, converted to the Administrative Officer cadre and posted to the Rivers State Ministry of Works. Still, in search of self-improvement, he later enrolled at the Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho in Oyo State for his Masters's degree programme in Business Administration, majoring in Cost Management.

As a result of his hard work, he was appointed as a Permanent Secretary on October 25, 1998 before retiring on March 1, 2008 after 32 years of meritorious, unblemished service spanning Rivers and Bayelsa.

In his civil service career, he served in various capacities but specifically as a Permanent Secretary, he worked in the General Services office in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and later in the Ministries of Works, Transport as well as Health.

Turner’s last posting before retirement was as the pioneer Executive Secretary of the Bayelsa State Capital City Development Authority (CCDA) where he worked for two years between 2006 and 2008. Just before retiring, he was called to serve his people as traditional ruler in 2007.

King A.J. Turner has held several positions of responsibility including Chairman, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) between 2009 and 2011; Chairman, Bayelsa Oil Company Limited (BOCL); Member, University of Port Harcourt Governing Board and Chairman, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC). He is currently the Chairman of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC).

King Turner is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Administrators (CIPA) and the Chartered Institute of Cost Managers of Nigeria. He is the proud recipient of the Gold Medal Award of the Chartered Professional Fellows of Public Administration.

He won the Rivers State Best Civil Servant of the Year in 1995, in 2006 the Bayelsa State Ministry of Justice recognized and honoured him as a Justice of the Peace (JP), while in 2008, he received the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association Merit Award. In the same 2008, he received the Rotary International Gold Service Award.

In 2008, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua bestowed on him the National Honours award of the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) and for his contributions to the development of architecture in Nigeria, the Nigerian Institute of Architecture gave him an award in 2010. Nairaland / General / DISGRACED Ex-beauty Queen And Ex-wife Of Fani-kayode Docked For Attempted Murder by idowubankole15(f): 7:56pm On Feb 14, 2022
DISGRACED ex-beauty Queen, Precious Chikwendu, was on Monday docked in a Federal High Court (FHC), Abuja for attempted murder of her former husband, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode,

The police charged before Justice Inyang Ekwo with attempted culpable homicide .

In a charge number: FHCABJ/CR/1/2022 filed by the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), against Ms Chikwendu and three others, the ex-wife was said to have attempted to stab Fani-Kayode with a kitchen knife on Nov. 24, 2018 at Asokoro, within the court jurisdiction.

Others arraigned alongside Precious include Emmanuel Anakan, Prisca Chikwendu and Osakwe Azubuike as 1st, 3rd and 4th defendants respectively, while other are said to be at large.

In a 13-count charge dated and filed on Jan. 7, the defendants were also alleged to have committed offences bordering on cybercrime, intimidation to kill Fani-Kayode by use of Internet, threat to kill one Lauretta in order to cause her to leave her relationship with Fani-Kayode.
They were alleged to have criminally used internet to send abusive messages with intent to bully, defame and harass her ex-husband.

They were alleged to have fabricated false evidence by deposing to series of affidavits that Chief Fani-Kayode physically and sexually assaulted members of his domestics staff in inhuman conduct by causing same to be electronically published in a national daily.

Chikwendu was also alleged to have, through her Facebook page, referred to Fani-Kayode as “Mr Short Fuse,” and that on Dec. 7, 2021.
She was alleged to have published a false imputation against the ex-minjster “by referring to him as a person who is sexually incapacitated and that he is not the biological father of the four children she had for him as a wife.”

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to all the counts, which are said to be punishable under Section 392 of the Penal Code, among others.
The prosecuting counsel, John Ijagbemi, who prayed the court for a date to commence trial. said seven witnesses would testify in the matter.

He said apart from the documentary evidence that would be tendered, electronic evidence had also been compiled to prosecute the case.

Alex Ejesieme, SAN, counsel to the ex-wife (2nd defendant), urged the court to admit the defendants to bail based on the earlier administrative bail granted them by the police.

“Did you give them administrative bail?” the judge asked.

“Yes, we did my lord, with two sureties,” Ijagbemi responded.

Justice Ekwo, who fixed April 27, April 28 and April 29 for trial commencement, ordered the defendants to continue on the terms of administrative bail earlier granted.

He directed the prosecution to submit all particulars of the defendants to the court registrar.

In an interview shortly after the sitting, Ijagbemi said the complainant would amend the charge to include an attempt by Chikwendu to kill the four children she had for the ex-minister.

“Because there are facts available to us that the 2nd defendant (Precious Chikwendu) attempted to kill her own children which we will bring to court in the next adjourned date,” he said.

However, effort to talk to Ejesieme, lawyer to the ex-wife, was unsuccessful as he refused to grant interview.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Chikwendu, who was accused of infidelity by the former minister, was also said to have withdrawn various civil cases filed against Fani-Kayode.

Although the duo had parted ways, the former minister said Chikwendu had always been given access to her children under closed supervision due to her alleged mental challenges which could result to hurting the children.

The former minister had also alleged that Chikwendu stopped calling the children on telephone for about seven months now contrary to her habit in the past.

reports that the ex-wife’s arraignment in an alleged defamation of character suit filed against her by former Senator, Mrs Grace Bent, on Jan. 24, before Justice Obiora Egwuatu of FHC was stalled due to her absence in court.

Chikwendu, an ex-beauty queen, was neither in court nor any lawyer represented her and the judge fixed March 10 for her arraignment.

Nairaland / General / Group Flays Sule Lamido, Says Attempt To Call Out Jonathan, Mischievous, Self-se by idowubankole15(f): 8:26pm On Feb 06, 2022
A Socio-cultural group in the north, Arewa Progressives Front (APF) has condemned a statement credited to former Governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Sule Lamido where he suggested that former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan might no longer be a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing it as cheap posturing, mischievous and self-serving.

In a statement signed by Mohammed Umar, APF’s national coordinator, the group labelled Lamido a hypocrite who had consistently made negative comments about Dr. Jonathan with the intention of casting a slur on the former President’s hard-earned reputation.

In the statement issued in Abuja, the group said: “The Arewa Progressives Front (APF) read with some sense of concern, the latest statement credited to the former governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Sule Lamido, where he questioned the membership of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, in the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

“While one shouldn't be worried, about the timing of Mallam Sule Lamido's concern, we find it imperative to respond, understanding that this is just another attempt, to blame his sinking fortune in the party and the trouble he and people like him are causing in the PDP on former President Jonathan, especially as Lamido and others, are presently engaged in the battle for the hijack of the soul of the PDP.

The statement also said: “We are surprised that Mallam Lamido should arrogate to himself the power of determining who is and who is no more in the party. As a former governor, he has access to the former president and could have easily reached out to him if he wasn't playing his consistent card of mischief.

“It should be noted, that at a time that people like Mallam Sule Lamido, were evasive during the challenging days of the PDP, not only was President Goodluck Jonathan available to save the soul of the party, he also provided leadership, even to the detriment of his personal ambition, to remain as Nigeria's President.”

APF further described former Governor Sule Lamido statement as “another cheap attempt, at calling out President Jonathan, for no obvious reason other than to divert attention from the rumbles within the PDP, orchestrated by the mischief and selfishness of people like him.”

It noted that even as President of Nigeria and the then leader of the PDP, Mallam Lamido have “always been negative, consistently negative, about Dr Goodluck Jonathan.”

The group recalled that lamido had in 2019 “deceitfully and maliciously accused former President Jonathan of complicity in the Malabu oil case, even when the former President was neither linked nor indicted by any law enforcement body across all the countries that investigated the saga.”

It stated further: “It was in the same light that he mischievously accused former President Jonathan of helping the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win the last gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State, the result of which was later overturned by the Supreme Court in favour of PDP. Meanwhile this same Lamido, self-styled saviour of the PDP, served as governor of Jigawa State for two terms under the platform of the PDP, but handed over to an APC governor because he could not secure victory for PDP, even as a sitting Governor. Hypocrisy has no better name than this!”

APF further advised Nigerians to ignore the former Governor’s comments on Jonathan, stressing that “it was not made out of love for his party or country but simply mischievous and self-serving.”

“Dr Goodluck Jonathan has continued to do his best to protect and strengthen democracy and promote peace in Nigeria and beyond.

"He deserves all the accolades that he has received from both Nigerians and the international community for this and not petty condemnation from Sule Lamido, and his ilk. We are not unaware that certain persons and interest groups may not be happy that his profile has further risen, but they do Nigeria gross disservice when they act so unpatriotically.

“Finally, we want to appeal to the public to be wary of such reckless tactics now on display, which form the substance of an odd, malicious campaign targeted at Dr Goodluck Jonathan.”

Crime / Ffk's Ex-wife, Precious Chikwendu, Stalls Her Arraignment For Criminal Charges by idowubankole15(f): 10:04pm On Jan 24, 2022
The arraignment of Precious Chikwendu, the estranged wife of former Aviation Minister Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, was stalled this morning because she failed to turn up in court.

Recall that charges were filed by the Nigerian Police against her at the Abuja Federal High Court up to two months ago.

The criminal charges include criminal defamation, incitement, injurious falsehood and cyber crimes.

She had accused Senator Grace Folashade Bent, a leading member of the APC and a former member of the PDP Board of Trustees, of planning and conspiring with others to have her murdered amongst many other things. She made the allegations on her verified Facebook and Instagram walls and she has made a confessional statement to the police that she did so.

She has been unable to prove her wild allegations and to substantiate many other allegations she made against the Senator.

The case was scheduled to hold for arraignment today at Court 9, Federal High Court Abuja before Justice Obiora Egwuatu but Chikwendu failed to turn up.

Sources close to her suggest that she has fled from the court and is terrified of being arraigned. This is because in the event of being found guilty she may be sent to jail for up to 10 years.

Her lawyer did not show up in court either and she has failed to file any documents offering an explanation.

Curiously the police prosecutor, one Mr. Victor Okoye, did not show up for the case either and instead he sent a representative by the name of Mr. Joseph Offor who claimed that the prosecutor was in Lagos.

The case was consequently adjourned till March 10th 2022 for arraignment by Justice Obiora Egwuatu.
