EducationDifferences Between A Name & Username On Facebook by Idyllwhizz(op): 5:51pm On Dec 10, 2016
Facebook names and usernames help locate and identity Facebook timelines.
Both Facebook names and usernames can be used to identify your account. A name is a mandatory requirement, especially for social interaction and privacy, but usernames are optional customization preferences. Although they are different in many ways, they can both help improve your social networking experience.
Facebook Names
Facebook requires you to enter your real name to sign up for an account. When you enter your real name, it appears on your account, and your friends use it to identify your timeline. Facebook makes this a requirement, especially for security and privacy. When you sign up for a Facebook account, your name cannot include symbols, numbers and repeating characters. Facebook also rejects names with titles, multiple character languages, nicknames in place of middle names, and offensive content. Timelines are for individual use, so only one name can be attached to an account. Facebook names can be changed later after setting up an account.
Usernames
Usernames serve a completely different purpose than Facebook names. After creating a Facebook account, creating a username allows you to customize your timeline's Web address, a feature that can prove useful, especially if you want people to find you on Facebook. A username appears in the address bar following " facebook.com" when open to your profile. For example; if your name is John Smith, your profile address might be " facebook.com/john.smith." A username can also be used as your Facebook email address (e.g, john.smith@ facebook.com). Unlike a Facebook name, a username can include alphanumeric characters and a period. They must also be at least five characters long, and can only be changed once.
Searches
People on Facebook can search for you using your full name; however, they cannot search for you with the username. The username is instead a direct link to your profile. No two usernames are the same, which means whenever it's selected and then typed into the address bar it will direct to your profile.
Creating Facebook Usernames
Unlike a Facebook name, usernames are not mandatory. You can still use Facebook without a username. If you want to make it easier for people to locate your timeline, however, creating a username can be beneficial. In order to set one up, click the gear menu and click "Account Settings." Click the "General" link to display the General Account Settings. When you click the "Edit" link in the Username section, Facebook provides an option to create a username. When you enter the desired username, Facebook will check its availability, and if the name has already been taken, you can either continue to enter other options or choose on that appears on the suggestions list.

WebmastersReasons Why Your IP ADDRESS May Be Banned From A Site And What To Do: by Idyllwhizz(op): 9:43pm On Dec 01, 2016
These are possible reasons why you might not be able to access a web page:
1.You requested a very large number of pages in a very short time, causing problems for servers (this can happen if you hit 'refresh' over and over, for example).
2.You could have been banned by mistake; sometimes automated banning policies are too strict and some IP addresses are banned by accident. If you don't think that you've done anything to warrant a ban, this is most likely the case.
3.You (or someone with the same IP address as you) might be using a script or program to download pages from this site automatically. This is forbidden by some sites terms of service.
4.Someone with your IP address may have violated another section of our terms of service (for example, behaving disrespectfullytoward other members of the site)
5.You might be using a VPN. If you are using a VPN, and other users of the same VPN are abusing the service, then you'll be automatically banned as well. There's not much sites can do about this; you'll have to turn off your VPN in order to continue using the site.
6.Your computer may be infected with malware or spyware that is making automated requests server and causing problems.

Business3 New Ways To Make Money From Nairaland by Idyllwhizz(op): 12:02am On Dec 01, 2016
Nairaland is the most popular Nigerian website. It is an online forum where Nigerians interact and discuss issues under various topics, such as politics, technology, romance, business, and many others.
According to current Alexa traffic rankings, Nairaland is one of the top 1000 most visited website on the internet, attracting millions of visits every month. Owned by Oluwaseun Osewa, Nairaland was launched in 2005, and it presently has over 1 million registered members.
Aside interacting with each other and discussing their topics of interest, some smart Nigerians are making money on Nairaland in different ways. Whether you have been a regular visitor on Nairaland or not, you too can start making money on this high-traffic online forum; provided you offer products or services that are targeted at Nigerians.
Here are few methods to generate income from this large marketplace:
1. Post Targeted Ads
Nairaland has a system for rendering ads on specific section of the boards. With a minimum deposit of #10,000 into Seun Osewa's account, you can direct traffic to your sales page, Facebook fanpage or even your thread on Nairaland. I always advise that you study the sections you are interested in to know how busy it is, as well as the peak of activities in there. Good thing is that you can change sections and pause ads even while your ad campaign is running.

2. Start A Blog On Nairaland
If you have a particular business idea that works for you, you can write an ebook or create a tutorial video about it. Now here is the catch, Nairalanders have easy access to free information, guides and tutorials that are shared on the forum liberally, so creating a thread/topic trying to market your tutorial or ebook may be useless. The question is what do you do? People are more likely to buy your materials when you teach what you understand and practice. Start a topic about that business idea, give people free tips, encourage other professionals to contribute to your thread. Let your thread grow into relevance. After establishing authority in this field, you can then introduce a 'complete' tutorial to them by posting the link to your webpage or inserting the link in your signature.
3. Offer Free Consultations
I can't overemphasize the power of free/bonus offers to creating a market for your product/service. If you are into selling android device for instance, you can start a thread discussion and solving android problems. Offering services relating to your main idea free will give you the needed authority/recognition to introduce your own product/services.
Let me conclude by giving you these tips. Always ensure that you insert relevant keywords in your topic title. Many people use google to search for threads on Nairaland. I for example search Nairaland through Google using 'site: nairaland.com SEARCHTERMS' so as get nigerian-oriented solutions to my questions. For instance if I were to open a thread to sell fish farming ebook for instance; I would make sure This search-related keywords are in my topic: FREE, FISH FARMING, GUIDE, TUTORIAL, MANUAL etc. Don't forget most people put FREE when googling for materials/solutions..lolz.
I hope you gained one or two things. If you are making money on Facebook, feel free to share your methods with us
