Your business can only get legal recognition when it is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

According to the law of companies Allied Matter Act (CAMA), any business that is not duly registered does not exist.

In 2020, the president of Nigeria president Muhammad Buhari approved the signing of the company and allied matters Act (CAMA 2020) into law.

A section of this law criminalizes operating an unregistered business in the country.

Section 863 of CAMA 2020 provides as follows:

(1) A person or association of persons shall not carry on business in Nigeria as a company, limited liability partnership, limited partnership or under a business name without being under the Act.

So if your business is involved in a duel with a registered business, the court will not be in your favor because your business does not exist to them.

Register your business and start enjoying the benefits.
