Sports / Iheanacho Denied Poland Entry, Out Of Legia Warsaw Match by ifeanyija(m): 9:10pm On Sep 29, 2021
Kelechi Iheanacho travelled to Warsaw with Leicester but a problem with his travel documents meant he was not allowed into the country; Brendan Rodgers said: "We've had an issue with Kelechi. His documentation coming into the country wasn't sufficient, so he wasn't able to travel"

Kelechi Iheanacho has been ruled out of Leicester's Europa League clash with Legia Warsaw after being turned away by Polish border control.

The striker travelled to Warsaw with the Foxes but a problem with his travel documents meant he was not allowed into the country.

The Foxes face Legia on Thursday but are now without the Nigeria international - last season's top scorer with 19 goals - who will now have to return to the UK.

Boss Brendan Rodgers said: "We've had an issue with Kelechi. His documentation coming into the country wasn't sufficient, so he wasn't able to travel. He will be unavailable for the game.

"The paperwork didn't allow him to enter the country. We'll have to look at that when we're back."

Jonny Evans has not travelled as he struggles to shake off an ongoing foot problem that has dogged him since earlier in the year, while Wilfred Ndidi is banned.

Legia top Group C after beating Spartak Moscow 1-0 in their opening game while Leicester gave up a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Napoli.

"[Legia] had a fantastic result in the last game. They're very well organised, the players are very committed, and on the counter-attack they can give us problems," Rodgers said at a press conference.

"In the last game and a half we have been more like ourselves in our football, so hopefully we can bring that to Legia and make it really difficult for them.

Leicester gave up a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Napoli in their first Europa League group game
"You travel to play in great stadiums in front of passionate supporters. It should be a great game in a great atmosphere, and it's something you always have to deal with away in Europe.

"It's been a great experience and we want to keep achieving it. It's an ambition of ours to keep playing at this level. You have to earn it and that's hopefully something we can keep doing over the next number of years."

Sports / Brazilian Football Star Hulk Expecting Baby With Ex-wife's Niece by ifeanyija(m): 12:35pm On Sep 20, 2021
Brazilian football star Hulk has announced he is expecting a baby with partner Camila Angelo - the niece of his ex-wife.

Hulk, 34, separated from wife Iran Angelo, 52, last year and started a relationship with Camila, 32.

The pair are now expecting their first child together, and Hulk's fourth overall.

"Today with a heart full of gratitude to GOD, I come to share with you that for the fourth time I am being blessed with another child," Hulk wrote on Instagram on Saturday alongside photos of himself and Camila with ultrasound images.

"My heart overflows with so much happiness and I can only say thank you GOD.

"We are already looking forward to receiving you, child, we love you unconditionally. Come full of health my baby."

Hulk, who currently plays for Atlético Mineiro, recently celebrated a goal by putting the ball underneath his shirt like it was a pregnant belly.

The Brazilian footballer, real name Givanildo Vieira de Sousa, caused a major stir last year when it was confirmed he had left his wife of 12 years and started a relationship with her niece.

Iran previously opened up about the “great pain” she suffered as a result of the marriage breakdown, however Hulk slammed claims of infidelity and said his former partner “treated me like a monster.”

“I never had a relationship with Camila when I was married," Hulk said last year.

“I am a man. I was not happy in my marriage.

“I had countless reasons. I spent my entire marriage betraying Iran. She lived a single life. She just wanted to have the status of wife of the Hulk.”

Ex-wife's fury over Hulk's relationship with niece

Hulk, who was playing in the Chinese Super League when he started his relationship with Camila, claims he and Iran had been separated for over a year.

“Camila came to China. I don’t think I’m an ugly person and I'm young,” he explained.

“Camila is young and extremely beautiful. We ended up getting involved. We were single.

“We came back from China and told the family when you came back and you went to media.

“I have a clear conscience and peace. If you want to continue cursing me and treating me like a monster, the choice is yours. But criticise on top of the truth.”

Iran previously said she will never forgive Camila.

“I gave everything to this girl since she came into the world,” Iran said.

“I sacrificed my dreams so many times to make her dreams come true.

“And here I am not talking only about material goods, because these are easy to give when you have money, but love, affection, attention, respect ... everything.

“If I made a mistake, my God, it was because I loved and trusted too much.”

Hulk has made 53 appearances for the Brazilian national side, scoring 12 goals.

He has also played for Porto and Zenit Saint Petersburg in a 17-year professional career.

Sports / Osimhen Double Denies Leicester Victory Against Napoli by ifeanyija(m): 11:35pm On Sep 16, 2021
Match report as late Victor Osimhen double cancels out Ayoze Perez and Harvey Barnes strikes as Leicester let two-goal slip to Napoli in Europa League opener

Leicester City surrendered a two-goal lead in the final 20 minutes as Victor Osimhen's double earned Napoli a 2-2 draw in their thrilling Europa League opener.

The Foxes got off to the perfect start at the King Power Stadium when Ayoze Perez ended a 15-game goal drought inside nine minutes with an emphatic volley into the Napoli - his first-ever European goal.

Summer signing Patson Daka looked to have doubled Leicester's lead on the hour, only for his strike to be ruled out for offside, but, five minutes later, Harvey Barnes found the net at the end of a flowing counter to leave the Foxes on course to victory.

Napoli spurned a host of chances throughout the game but managed to reduce the arrears within five minutes as Osimhen lofted his first over Kasper Schmeichel. And, with three minutes remaining, he rescued a point with a superb towering header.

Leicester's collapse was compounded by the stoppage-time dismissal of Wilfred Ndidi - who misses the next game against Legia Warsaw - for a second bookable offence, adding insult to injury on a night victory slipped away from Brendan Rodgers's side.

Police and stewards had to control a disturbance between the home and travelling fans at full time with missiles thrown between supporters. Missiles were thrown from both sets of supporters as tensions flared at the end of the game.

Leicester and Napoli started the tournament as joint favourites to lift the trophy in Seville in May and went at each other as if to prove their credentials.

Napoli threatened first and Kasper Schmeichel spilled Osimhen's early drive from distance before David Ospina came to the visitors' rescue.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper flung himself at Barnes' feet to turn his close-range shot wide after Perez bullied his way through and Kelechi Iheanacho helped on his cross.

But Ospina could not thwart the Foxes for long and they grabbed the opener after just nine minutes. Barnes burst forward, swapped passes with Patson Daka and delivered a deep cross for Perez to volley in at the far post.

Napoli responded well and the lively Osimhen slashed wide before teeing up Malcuit to shoot over after 29 minutes. Osimhen continued to be a menace and, when he beat Jonny Evans to cross, only a combination of Timothy Castagne and Schmeichel kept out Zielinski.

Napoli, who had won all three Serie A games this season, had slowly taken control and skipper Lorenzo Insigne drilled wide as the Foxes struggled to regain a rhythm.

The Italians were in command but were becoming wasteful with Nigeria international Osimhen firing another opportunity over before Schmeichel ensured Leicester went into the break ahead.

The Foxes had lived dangerously and survived another warning when Malcuit's cross found Lozano drifting into space and his header was parried by Schmeichel.

Leicester, playing their first home European game with fans since their Champions League quarter final with Atletico Madrid in 2017, needed a remedy.

Boss Brendan Rodgers recognised it, replacing Perez and Jonny Evans with Youri Tielemans and Caglar Soyuncu at the break, but Leicester initially failed to stem the tide. Yet, the Foxes thought they had doubled their lead after 59 minutes.

Tielemans was involved, poking the ball through to Daka for the striker to drill in, only to be denied his first Leicester goal by a marginal VAR offside call. Five minutes later, though, the Foxes did find their second goal.

Iheanacho won the ball in midfield and his perfect pass found Barnes on the left for the winger to tease Malcuit and drill into the corner.

Napoli had paid the price for their profligacy but they pulled a goal back in style with 21 minutes left. A slick move on the edge of the box involving Insigne, Elif Elmas and Fabian Ruiz ended with Osimhen holding off Jannik Vestergaard and lifting the ball over Schmeichel from six yards.

Unsurprisingly, Napoli pressed for the leveller and Schmeichel turned Elmas' shot away but the Foxes could not hang on. Osimhen had been a constant threat and he netted again with three minutes left to level, heading in Matteo Politano's cross from eight yards.

Ndidi was then dismissed in stoppage time for collecting a second yellow card after he pulled back Adam Ounas.

Opta stats
This was the first time Leicester have had a 2+ goal lead in a home match (all competitions) but failed to win since September 2016 against Chelsea. They had won each of their previous 47 such matches before tonight.
Napoli have never won away against English opposition in all European competition (D3 L8), conceding at least once in all 11 such matches (23 conceded in total).

With his brace tonight, Victor Osimhen has been involved in nine goals in his last 10 appearances for Napoli in all competitions (7 goals, 2 assists).
No player has scored more goals for Leicester in major European competition than Harvey Barnes (4, level with Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez), with all four his strikes coming in the Europa League over the last two seasons.

Ayoze Pérez netted his first goal in 15 games for Leicester in all competitions, though this was the first time the Foxes failed to win a game in which he scored (W8 D1).

realitycheck4u:
This Chelsea match vs Leicester and the previous match vs Arsenal both seem suspicious.

Considering Chelsea's current form, there is no chance in hell, for them to have lost these last 2 matches without someone playing hanky panky somewhere.

It's as if someone higher up gave Thomas Tuchel instructions to deliberately bring out a handicapped and under-powered Chelsea team line up.

I know some people may claim it's team rotation but for Christ's sake, what was Kepa doing in this team today against Leicester or in the previous match against Arsenal. It's the end of the season and each team need to always play their best.

Mendy was bought because of his height and agility. Why was he not used today

If Mendy was in goal today, he would have easily stopped that shot with a finger tip save.

What was Ben Chillwell doing on the bench in today's match ?

Why did it take so long before the coach decide to bring in a $45 million defender ?

What was Christian Pulisic doing on the bench ? I know that Pulisic struggles against defensive teams with big strong well built defenders, but Leicester does not have those kinds of defenders therefore this match was perfect for Pulisic to have started it from the beginning

Why were major substitutions not made at half time when it was very obvious that the current set up was not working ?

I streamed the match against Arsenal from Sky Sports and streamed today's match from BT Sports and if you listen to the commentators, you will immediately see their bias and hatred for Chelsea. It's as if Chelsea is the behemoth monster standing in the way of the little teams and must be stopped for the little teams to benefit from football and finally win some trophies after many years of failure.

From the way they cheered every move made by both Leicester and Arsenal it reminded me of the feeling and impression I got whenever I watched CNN during the Trump presidency. It was as if Chelsea was the new Donald Trump who must be stopped for the little guy to get some joy.

I seriously believe that these last 2 matched were fixed and if this is true that it really discourages me about the UCL final.

Why get excited about an already fixed match only to go home sad.

Drogba's 2009 comment against UEFA in that disgraceful match vs Barcelona immediately comes to mind.

Football is not socialism, football should not be by quota system, It is not charity. it is a game between 11 men or women and both teams should always field their best eleven and not be told or forced to deliberately handicap themselves.

This last 2 matches must be investigated and Chelsea fans must protest and demand the immediate sale of Kepa and Alonso the same way they protested against the Super League.

Considering that the EPL is still kneeling down and worshiping George Floyd long after his family has already been settled with millions of dollars, I won't put match fixing beyond the EPL and UEFA.
hahahahahaa. So those that play today are not Chelsea players? Chelsea is paying them to play

Sports / Manchester City Crowned 2020-21 Premier League Champions by ifeanyija(m): 7:56pm On May 11, 2021
Manchester City have been crowned 2020-21 Premier League champions, our third title success in the last four years.
Manchester United’s defeat to Leicester on Tuesday means we now have an unassailable lead after 35 games.

It is Guardiola’s 10th major honour since taking charge at City in 2016, and it comes a week after we booked our place in the UEFA Champions League final at the end of the month with a 4-1 aggregate victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

In a season like no other, one which has been significantly affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, City have shown remarkable consistency in turbulent times, overcoming a gruelling fixture schedule by heavily rotating the squad to ensure every player has played a part in this success.

The resilience and togetherness of the players, as well as the ingenuity shown by Pep Guardiola and his backroom team, have seen us overcome every challenge we have faced and emerge as clear title winners.

And this success have been delivered without having our beloved supporters with us in the stadium. Our commitment and desire to deliver success for our fans watching at home will make the reunion at the Etihad Stadium a special occasion for everyone when it finally happens.

Since defeat to Tottenham at the end of November, we have won 22 and drawn two of our 27 league matches, a run of form that lifted us from 11th in the table to champions of England with three matches remaining.

Our win at Palace last weekend was our 11th straight away win in the Premier League, equalling the record set by Chelsea in 2008 and City in 2017.

With our Carabao Cup success already assured, City have now won 10 of the last 15 available English trophies.

It’s been a remarkable effort to secure our seventh league title – but there could yet be another thrilling chapter to write this season, with our place in this season’s Champions League final assured.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to send their congratulations to Pep, his backroom staff and all the players on yet another remarkable achievement for the football club.
