AfricaUnited: South Africa is now a pariah state of sort, in Africa. It will likely pay a huge economic and diplomatic price for its madness - it should. At the same time, I remember my own native country and its many problems, and ask myself rhetorically when the Nigerian government will do all it can to stop them. Good question |

OP, thanks for your humble ''contribution'' in boycotting South Africa. As your article indicated, majority of the boycott effect of SA will have to come from Nigerians in Nigeria. If they all throw their MTN SIM cards and DSTV dishes away (or at least lock them up in their cupboards until further notice), and stop patronize Shoprite, and withdraw all their funds from Stanbic Bank, it will go a long away in damaging SA. |

nasoeb: That is just my problems with the igbos. They always think "everything" must about igbo. You sneeze, its because igbo man pass, you stand, its because you want to attack an igbo man. When you discussing national issues about bad Nigerian leaders, they will jump in and tell you, Nigerian govt is bad because they want to suffer igbos. These people are just shameless, they dont think and observe no other tribe in Nigeria does this shiiit. Am beginning to think most of them are illiterate and auffers from serious inferiority complex. I used to scold the yorubas too, but frankly, the igbos are just too embarrassing. This is an unhelpful and stupid retort. |

Emilokoiyawon: You did not answer my question. Is that because I had you logically cornered? I can't be arguing round and round in circles with you. Buhari began the deterioration of Nigeria in 1984; Buhari has worsened the deterioration of Nigeria in 2015-2019. You can keep arguing with my grammar |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Tension Rise Between South Africans And Foreigners (Video) by igbobuigbo: 6:37pm On Sep 08, 2019 |
Emilokoiyawon: Now according to you own standard, if you say things have gotten progressively worse since 1984 up to today, then why do you need to ADD that it has gotten worse since 2015 till today under Buhari? We need to reduce the degree of economic hellfire by breaking the Buhari syndrome through a new paradigm shift, including revolution. Simplicita It looks like your life is better under Buhari in 2019?

Emilokoiyawon: So why did you say Buhari made it worse, if the word 'progressively' already did that?. Buhari is both the current and very last president. That is what ''progressively worse'' implies. Now go back to school |

Emilokoiyawon: So GEJ, whose government stole hundreds of billions of dollars did not make it worse? It's been progressively worse since 1984. That includes GE's govt. Or are you suffering from language deficiency syndrome that you don't understand what ''progressively'' means? |

Area4Area: Watching that video, it just looks like a typical bend down boutique market in Nigeria and you mean someone would leave Nigeria and go risk his life because of this type of job? I blame some of the embassies for giving just any applicant visa. Too shameful to see that. There are videos of Nigerians, mostly Edo boys, selling wares on the streets of Italy and Spain, to the chagrin of natives. Nigeria has a terrible rap on all fronts |

frosbel2: Most of the shops are owned by the Igbos , did you not hear them speak ?
But I will remove Igbo from the title, in a way , its too specific. Most foreign shop owners in SA are not Igbos. Just say most videos we see about Nigeria in SA are Igbos being too vocal and circulating them online to Nigerians |

These bend-down select traders I see in the video can't all be drug pushers. SA, what is your problem? Frosbel2, why are you making this about Igbos? Any foreigner is a target and all are defending themselves. There are videos on Somalis also defending themselves as are Yorubas. |

Actually, some of the Nigerian people we call immigrants would be SA citizens. There Permanent residency and citizenship procedures don't appear insurmountable You and your spouse qualify for a direct permanent residence permit if you have lived in South Africa on the basis of your work permit for a minimum period of five years. Dependents of South African citizens or permanent residence permit holders can also apply. Applications for naturalisation may only be received by the office if the applicant has been on a Permanent Residence Permit for a period of five (5) years from the date of obtaining Permanent Residence (PR) in the Republic of South Africa. https://www.gov.za/services/services-foreigners/permanent-residenceObviously their immigration systems are more generous than Nigeria's. You need to have lived in Nigeria for 15 years before you can be a citizen |

But the mud red sha o. You are a simpletonic tribalist. There is also erosion in SW. The beach fronts in Lagos, Ogun and Ondo are being washed away daily. We can all be tribalists but some things are just too petty to tribalize. Get a life. |

All my life in Nigeria apart from conferences i attend I have not seen a south African in our streets before. Why are you even talking of 20K? Not up to 1 to 2 K, if at all. |

Their LADIES can't go to war, so they must be ruled out since they have YAM-LIKE HEAVY DUTY BODIES.... They Can't Move except aided.... Do you know the total population of SA? Its >> 55 mill. If you add these numbers by the OP up, not even up to 3 mill. |
Politics › Re: Population Of Foreigners In South Africa By Country by igbobuigbo: 3:41pm On Sep 08, 2019 |
madenigga: Secondly I do not believe we have up to 28,000 South Africans in Nigeria, the number is exaggerated. South Africans in Nigeria are not up to 10,000.
Lagos and Abuja with the highest population of South Africans dont have up to 5,000 south Africans with both combined.
South Africa has businesses in Nigeria, but there citizens working in those businesses are in the minority.
We have more Chinese in Nigeria than South Africans South Africans in Nigeria cannot number more than 1-2 K, most likely. It's hard to find them outside their country, except for a few white ones. |

Obviously we can see Nigerians are not even in the 1-10 list of countries with more population in SA, so, why the news about Nigerians Everytime and nearly everywhere? I have not heard of any Nigerians claiming to own SA. Can you share your information? |
Politics › Re: Population Of Foreigners In South Africa By Country by igbobuigbo: 3:35pm On Sep 08, 2019 |
madenigga: I do not believe that too.
Population of Nigerians in south Africa I am not even sure if its up to 200,000.
Do you know what is 800,000 people?
If Nigeria has 800,000 people in south Africa, that means the12 south African provinces have roughly 80,000 Nigerians each.
That's a huge lie Believe any data from Nigerian govt at your own peril |

I will like to see the real source of this info. Nigeria is so far down the list that we shouldn't even be noticed by the locals. Something is obviously missing. Nigerians are loud and vocal. They can be few but yet noisy and obnoxious. That is part of the problem |

Obviously we can see Nigerians are not even in the 1-10 list of countries with more population in SA, so, why the news about Nigerians Everytime and nearly everywhere? Nigerians are not the biggest foreign/immigrant criminals in any country. They are even nowhere close. The news you hear are those pertaining to Nigerians, and which the tribally-aligned Nigerians have over amplified. Also, we know that some other African nationals in foreign countries commit crime and identify themselves as Nigerians just because of already dented image. There are several videos on that aspect online. Nigerian govt needs to work with the embassies in Nigeria to issue visas only to genuine people who have been cleared by the authorities such as EFCC. But then, there are more than a few closeted crooks in Nigeria who will still seep through such a system |
