Politics › Re: Buhari: Why We Closed Nigeria’s Border With Benin Republic by ignitewatch(m): 6:52pm On Aug 28, 2019 |
Very stupid talk. Why not close those borders that help smuggle in his terrorist brothers. Because it's not cow. Assuming it's berth cows will he order the closure? doris00: President Muhammadu Buhari has attributed the partial closure of Nigeria’s border with Benin Republic to the massive smuggling activities especially of rice, taking place on that corridor.
The Nigerian leader gave the reason during an audience granted his Beninois counterpart, Patrice Talon, on the margins of the Seventh Tokyo International Conference for African Development (TICAD7), in Yokohama, Japan on Wednesday.
Buhari, who expressed great concern over the smuggling of rice, said it threatened the self-sufficiency already attained due to his administration’s agricultural policies.
According to him, “Now that our people in the rural areas are going back to their farms, and the country has saved huge sums of money which would otherwise have been expended on importing rice using our scarce foreign reserves, we cannot allow smuggling of the product at such alarming proportions to continue.”
The Nigerian President said the limited closure of the country’s western border was to allow Nigeria’s security forces to develop a strategy on how to stem the dangerous trend and its wider ramifications.
Responding to the concerns raised by President Talon on the magnitude of suffering caused by the closure, Buhari said he had taken note and would reconsider reopening it in the not too distant future.
He, however, disclosed that a meeting with his counterparts from Benin and Niger Republics would soon be called to determine strict and comprehensive measures to curtail the level of smuggling across their borders.
Earlier, President Talon had said he called on the Nigerian President as a result of the severe impact which the closure of the Nigerian border was having on his people.
Buhari also received in audience, President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa during which issues of common bilateral relations especially the killings of Nigerians in South Africa, were discussed. The matter will be further examined during the Nigerian leader’s official visit to Pretoria in October 2019.

Who'd we offend. This is too much now.. I think efcc should start looking into some religious house that offers prayer for some of these yahoo boys maga to pay. I was passing by a so called church the other day when I heard the pastor screaming that the money the young man of 22years is expecting is around 20 million, that if the money should come, how much will he give to the church? I begin to ask myself, what business is he into, or what services is he offering.
The the stupid set of people were busy shouting amen...
Even some mothers will now tell you openly that, their sons are learning to press button. "Him go soon hammer"
Until we change and refocus our value system, in no distant time they won't be any image left to save. |

Just saw this now.. Sorry for late response. I lost my phone recently. 1. Delivery/courier companies. Sometimes if the location isn't too distance from me I do it myself. 2. I started out with alibaba.... But as thing gets better, I have since moved to having watches been shipped from USA, India, Europe and Dubai. I still buy from China... and I still use alibaba and dhgate (due diligence is necessary) 3. I've made use of Tugrow, Judice cargo, mimilogistic. and some other ones.. The truth is you've to play around until you find the one that's perfect for you. *** the names of companies I listed here doesn't serve as an advert for any and I am not in any way affiliated with any. You should do your due diligence before and transaction with any company I mentioned here). 4. You've got to market and work like your life depends on it.......... Goodluck gtech2sure: Hello boss,
I saw your post this morning on nairaland about how you start importing wristwatches which got me inspired as you laid it down.
Please i need some questions to ask
1 How do you deliver to your customers here in Nigeria. Do you use a courier or you do the delivery by yourself?
2 Which China website is the best to buy goods as a beginner in importation business.
3 Can you recommend the shipping company you are using and like how many weeks will the goods land in Nigeria?
Thanks |
