Politics / 10 Simple Steps To Voting Right Come Saturday March 28th, 2015 by iHaveDecided: 1:16pm On Mar 25, 2015
As we all know, elections are just a few days away. As you vote for your preferred candidates, it’s important to follow INEC’s guidelines on voting right so your votes are not voided for one reason or the other.

Follow these 10 steps to voting right come Saturday, March 28, 2015

1. Walk up to the Assistant Presiding Officer 3 (APO3) of your Polling Unit to confirm that you are at the right polling unit.
2. If successful with STEP 1, approach the Assistant Presiding Officer 1 (APO1) who will read your PVC with a card reader and match it with your thumb print
3. Confirm if your name and Voter Identification Number are contained in that polling unit’s voters’ register by presenting yourself to the Assistant Presiding Officer 2 (APO2)
4. The Assistant Presiding Officer 2 (APO2) will then apply ink to the appropriate finger on your hand and then give you your voter accreditation tag. You would now leave the Polling Unit BUT should return by 1:00pm for the brief on how to vote.
5. Join the queue by 1:30pm or whenever the presiding officer announces the commencement of voting.
6. When it gets to your turn, walk up to the Assistant Presiding Officer 2 who will mark your right thumb with ink and then hand you your ballot papers for voting.
7. Head to the voting cubicle where you will secretly thumbprint for the party you want on your ballot paper secretly. Make sure the ink on your finger does not stain any other part of the ballot paper.
8. Your ballot papers should then be folded vertically. Meet the Assistant Presiding Officer 1 (APO1) who will guide you on the right boxes to drop your ballot paper.
9. Move away from the immediate voting area so as to create room for other voters to cast their ballot.
10. You may choose to stay around the polling unit so as to observe the sorting, counting of votes and the announcement of results.
Trading your vote is tantamount to trading your future. Do not trade your vote. Remember to stay peaceful, stay safe and stay out of trouble! Your life is important!

Politics / General Buhari's Grand Plan For The Power Sector by iHaveDecided: 12:22pm On Mar 24, 2015
We have previously examined the immense growth which will be experienced in our industries once the government of Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo come into power on May 29th, 2015. All these bold ideas may not translate into reality if the problems plaguing our power sector are not tackled squarely.

The All Progressive Congress led government which will be voted into power this weekend has a great plan for the electricity sector which will bring to reality power generation, transmission and distribution a 24/7 basis by 2019. While all these are being done, the development of sustainable/renewable energy by the same death will also be in the works.

APC's plan for the electricity sector will see power generated, transmitted & distributed on a 24/7 basis whilst ensuring the development of sustainable/renewable energy, by 2019. How is this going to be achieved?

• A Buhari led government will increase the current generation of 3800megawatts to 7000megawatts on or before December 2015.
• Increase electricity generation by a minimum of 3000megawatts annually so that by the end of 2019, the country would have reached the desired 20000megawatts
• Explore alternative sources of modern electricity generation such as solar, wind, etc.
Above are just some of the plans, the APC led government have mapped out for the electricity sector. Is it not very clear that CHANGE is HERE for real? Go out there come March 28th, 2015 and vote for General Muhammadu Buhari.

Politics / It's Just Few Days To The Election, Don't Trade Your Vote by iHaveDecided: 9:17am On Mar 23, 2015
Welcome to a brand new week; a week in which Nigeria will begin to experience the dawn of a new era. We appreciate the immense efforts you have made towards the CHANGE project over the past few weeks and months. You have run a good race thus far and we are close to the finish line and we must remember that how we finish the race can make or mar all previous efforts which were made.

This election week is a special one in the history of our dear nation and we wish to remind you that CHANGE can only be made possible by our votes come March 28th, 2015. Your vote represents your passport to a better future. We must all bear in mind that a vote for change is a step towards progress. For no reason should you trade your vote; your vote is your right and is priceless.

We have been subjected to poor governance for so long and once again, we are presented with that rare opportunity to vote out leaders who have under-performed and vote in a government that will make each and every one of us proud of our dear nation.

A vote for Buhari/Osinbajo is definitely the key to better governance which will translate to better lives and opportunities for citizens of this nation which has been richly blessed but has been bedeviled by terrible leadership for decades now.

As the reality of this weekend’s election dawns on us, we urge you to go out with your PVCs and vote in an APC led government. Also remember to make sure your votes count after casting your votes. If you notice any electoral irregularities, make sure you report to the relevant authorities.

CALL TO ACTION
1. Make sure you cast your vote for APC come March 28th and ensure it does count.
2. Take along at least four eligible voters with you to the polling booth on Election Day.
3. Talk to at least four people each day about making sure they do not trade it for anything.

Politics / #faithandpolitics With Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) by iHaveDecided: 12:46pm On Mar 19, 2015
Faith and Politics with Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN)

Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), Senior Pastor, Olive Tree Parish of RCCG and APC’s Vice Presidential Candidate will be addressing concerns Christians have about getting involved in politics at a town-hall organized by Faith and Politics Nigeria, a platform set up by a group of influential and governmental Christian leaders. Scheduled to hold at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos, on the 22nd of March 2015, the town-hall will feature other notable speakers including Mr. Leke Alder, Principal Consultant at Alder Consulting, a renowned speaker and Brand Strategist, Pastor Wale Adefarasin of Guiding Light Assembly and Bishop Mike Okonkwo of The Redeemed Evangelical Missions (TREM).

The 2015 General elections have generated so many conversations and controversies, which have awakened the consciousness of every strata of the society. However, the questions have remained: What is the stand of The Church on the direction that the nation is headed and why has The Church remained largely silent on the current political activities of the State? While many have argued that State must be separated from Politics, others even go as far as saying Christians should not touch politics with a long pole.

These concerns and more will be addressed at the townhall. Speaking on the necessity of the initiative, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, Regional Pastor of the Apapa Family of the Redeemed Christian Church of God said: “…The bible, our constitution as Christians, has given every child of God heaven’s point of view on politics and governance when Jesus said …give back to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's. Essentially he was saying that every Christian must operate within the confines of the rule of the State secularly, and if going for a political office, they must serve and govern with the highest moral standard and spiritual principle, which gives glory back to our God.”

“Saying the church or Christians should not engage in politics is almost saying they should ready to be guided by values and principles they don’t subscribe to. If Godly men and women do not get engaged in politics, how then can we expect to build a Godly nation, where peace and justice will reign?” – Kola Oyeneyin, one of the organisers of Faith and Politics asked.

It seems therefore that Christians are beginning to see the importance of Political engagement and involvement in nation building as critical and unavoidable. If this continues beyond the elections in 2015, we may be witnessing the influx of young people who are driven by the values of righteous Government in our political space.

Politics / Buhari's Bold Agenda For The Safeguarding Of Nigeria's Environment by iHaveDecided: 11:11am On Mar 17, 2015
For a long time now, there has been a massive degradation of the land in the Niger Delta as a result of crude oil exploration. The waters in that region are also not spared as a result of oil spillage which has made fishing impossible in those parts of the country. This is sad and got to stop.
Across Nigeria, there has also been a high incidence of buildings which collapse after years of construction as a result of town planning and environmental laws being flouted or completely disregarded in some instances. Our timber industry also suffers from indiscriminate felling of trees which would have also helped to cushion and control the effects of erosion.
We are also facing the danger of desertification in relatively dry land regions which are increasingly becoming arid if the right actions are not taken.
For those who are wondering what the right actions which are to be taken, a Buhari/Osinbajo led government has the answers already. The following are plans of the CHANGE agents for Nigeria’s environment. Never before have we had such great plans for our environment. Here are some of the plans for the nation’s environment:
• Ensure compliance with policies and measures to halt the pollution of rivers and waterways in the Niger Delta and the other parts of the country
• Create shelter belts in states bordering the Sahara Desert to mitigate and reverse the effects of the expanding desert
• Support and accelerate the implementation of regional water transport initiatives across the country through effective dredging of the main waterways
• Adopt a holistic approach to erosion and shoreline protection across the country;
• Create teams of volunteers to plant and nurture economically viable trees in arid regions
• Restructure the Ecological Fund Office to enable it meet today’s environmental challenges
• Regulate the timber industry to ensure that double the number of trees felled are planted by the loggers
• Ensure full compliance with town planning and environmental laws and edicts.

CALL TO ACTION:
1.) Would you love to see all forms of agriculture come alive once again in the Niger Delta region?
2.) Do you now realize that the high incidence of collapsed buildings can be attributed to the corruption and inefficiency of some government agencies that have refused to do the right thing?
3.) Talk to as many people as you can about General Buhari’s plan for our environment.

Politics / The Winning Formula By GMB For The Development Of Nigeria's Agricultural Sector by iHaveDecided: 1:28pm On Mar 16, 2015
Those who really care about the future of our dear nation will indeed be worried on our over-reliance on crude oil for our national earnings. It is really disappointing that a nation like ours which is blessed with so much land mass, fertile soil, favorable climate, absence of natural disasters and all whatnot has been unable to harness the opportunities in the agricultural sector.

The outgoing administration has said so much about the agricultural sector but not so much has been done. Those with a discerning mind will understand that it has been more talk and less work. The government of Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has promised to bring agriculture back to life. This will in turn help boost the economy through creation of jobs. The incoming government of GMB plans to:

• Modernize the agricultural sector by helping self-subsistence farmers to become medium/large scale farmers
• Pump in adequate funds to the sector so as to help create more agro allied jobs.
• Give out loans to farmers at nominal interest rates for capital investment on medium and commercial scale cash crops.
• Ensure farming becomes an all year round business through a well coordinated integrative irrigation of existing dams and the creation of more dams which will help collect and save over-flooding water nationwide.
• Make sure that our agricultural institutes which are currently in a state of comatose are revived.
• Have veterinary practices nationwide reviewed and then strengthened.
• Guarantee a minimum price for all cash crops and help build and improve storage facilities for agricultural products so that there will be no shortage of food crops all year round.

Enumerated above are some of the brilliant plans which will be executed to help resuscitate our dear agricultural sector which has been in dire need of an awakening. We cannot keep doing thing the same way and keep expecting different results.

CALL TO ACTION
1. Imagine what will become of our dear nation if our oil wells suddenly dry up and we have no contingency plans in place.
2. Take a moment to ponder on the innumerable opportunities which Nigerians will enjoy from a vibrant agricultural sector.
It’s time to stop complaining and grumbling. Rise up, pick your PVC and vote in the right team come March 28th, 2015. Change is inevitable this time around.

Politics / #gmbquotes From Chattam House by iHaveDecided: 8:25am On Mar 05, 2015
On the 26th of February, 2015, Gen Muhammadu Buhari spoke at the Chattam house, UK. Today we bring you 11 quotes from his speech!

I have been referred to as an ex dictator. I take responsibility for everything that happened under my watch.

I cannot change the past. But I can change the present and the future.

I am a former military ruler and a converted democrat.

I was a military HOS. But the triumph of democracy has shown that a better and more preferred path to change is possible.

Two things have bloomed in the present administration: waste and corruption.

Because of greed and corruption, Nigeria’s ‘wealth’ has not translated to human development.

Corruption will have no place and the corrupt will not be appointed into my administration.

Any war waged on corruption should not be misconstrued as settling old scores or a witch-hunt.

I’m running for President to lead Nigeria to prosperity and not adversity.

I assure you, if I become president, the world will not have to worry about Nigeria as it is now.

To vote for the continuity of failure or to elect progressive change. Nigerians will choose wisely.
