The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has entered into a mutually beneficial partnership with a youth group, National Development Youth Project to support peaceful co-existence among Nigerians through the game of football.

During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), yesterday in Abuja, the National coordinator, National Development Youth Project, (NDYP) Mr Bonaventure Chime said a football competition will soon be organized across the 774 local governments in Nigeria.

He stated further that the choice of football is because of the strong appeal it has among the youths.

Without undermining the importance of other sports, the NDYP Coordinator reiterated that everywhere in the world, football is the most followed sport.

“What we intend doing is to use football which has power to unite the nation to preach peace in all the local governments.

“We want to use the power of football to engender more peaceful co-existence among the different ethnic nationalities,” he said.

In the same vein, the deputy chairman of ALGON, Barrister Shehu Marshall said the hallmark of the association is to bring peace to the country from the grassroots.

“Because of the significance of ALGON in Nigeria, we felt it was important to have peace and also empower Nigerian youths which is one of the hallmarks of our association.

“ALGON is fully and ready to bring about peace and youth empowerment in Nigeria. With our presence in 774 local governments in Nigeria, we provide an enabling environment for peace to reign in Nigeria,” he said.

The football competition to be known as ALGON Cup will be unveiled on April 26th and will kick off nationwide on May 2.

Since the Covid19 lock down has been eased, most government agencies and offices have begun full service and have also eased their Covid measures but Banks have failed to comply.

Banks now have more people outside the banking halls than inside, these people congregate and are faced with an increased chance of getting the same virus they are prevented from catching.

Banks should allow people to access their services and stop forming the 'holier than thou' attitude they are forming.

Can they be more Catholic than the Pope?

Nigerian government has relaxed its measures on Covid19 yet banks are forming like they know more than others.

This one does not need a lynch mob.
Just break some of his toes with a pestle and set him free.
That would be a good reminder for him any time he wants to steal

Op, Shebi it's your Primary 4 books that you are still reading in 2020...

How is he an olodo, egbon?

He is suggesting a form of therapy which may or may not work.

That's the sign of someone who knows how to solve a problem, he is considering all angles and leaving no stone unturned.

Even if his suggestions may not work now, history will say of one president who considered all angles and for a fact, he is not only adored by Igbo people alone he is adored by well meaning Yoruba people as well.

Corrinthians:
Olodo!! Even the least science inclined individual knows such could kill a man even faster than the virus itself.

This is whom ipob worships.

Bobs, they are cashing out already...

Yes, the Samoyed is a very good breed of dogs that can play around the house with kids.

They are moderately tempered.

They are fun dogs which need a sizable amount of playtime each day hence their tolerance for kids.

Pick one of these purebred Samoyed and see your loved ones fall in love with you over and over again.
