I have this feeling people weren't THAT amazed by the first one, it's just the fact that 'woo, twilight is being made into a movie' that got them all struck and whatnot, I keep telling people to read the book first, read the book!

[color=#9900ff]It's the tweens that got the movie going.  They are responsible too for catapulting these actors into superstars.  I really didn't see anything interesting in the twilight movie except for the 'bella song' .  The book was wayyy better.  Considering my obsession with vamps, you can imagine how underwhelmed i was by the first installment Bella's or rather Kristen Stewart's voice irritates me.  Too guttural [/color]

I guess the romance overtook the 'action', even in the book, some of the well waited for action scenes were only about a page and a half, the rest of the pages were occupied with Bella's dedication of love for Edwardo alongside paragraph after paragraphs of how beautiful he is

@iice, I'll confess that The Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite HP book, had my own copy and read it to shreds . And I've only seen the movie half-way but I could tell they did the dark, brooding storyline justice .

The movie industry IS about stereotypes. until the wars in both iraq and afghanistan most people world wide would have banked on the US and coalition forces winning both wars. this is as a result of movies like Rambo et al rooted in our pysche. the problem isnt that stereotypes have to be removed. the problem is that these stereotypes have to be acted professionally. hollywood = stereotypes.

[color=#9900ff]But hollywood has a wider range of subjects, wouldn't you agree? Probably half of the movies are stereotypes. How much of nollywood is based on stereotypes? 90%? I don't watch nollywood partly because of that. I'd rather watch paint dry, than see a wicked MIL destroy another person with fake bullets and goons and later the person does some juju thingy. Often, the lines are blurred. . .there isn't a specific genre. One movie has all. . .well except for sci fi [/color]
