Family / Nigerian Parents, Let's Work Together On This by IInteractiveInc: 4:52pm On Feb 23, 2015
Good day fellow Nairalanders,

First off I'll start by introducing the intention of this post. Intellectual Interactive Inc. is a startup company with the primary focus of developing educational apps for iOS and Android that are targeted specifically at Nigerian children. We made the decision to focus on this niche because after doing extensive research we noticed that although there are a great number of educational apps out there for children to learn the basics (123's and ABC's), there are none (that I know of) that are created with the Nigerian child in mind.

We as Nigerians have a rich and engaging culture. This culture transcends into the way we educate our young ones; from the discipline and respect for elders that make our culture unique we have developed an educational style that is unique to the way we do things. Every single line of code that we write for each of our apps is written with this uniqueness in the forefront of our thoughts and design decisions.

Writing good software goes far beyond knowing all the rules of programming. What is important is developing software that your core audience actually has a desire to use, and in some way impacts the way they do things. That is why we need the help of all Nairalanders who are parents to children in the formative years of their education to partner with us by giving their feedback and criticisms which will help us refine and fine tune our apps (your apps, in fact) to make them the best they can be for the Nigerian child.

So without wasting any time, let's jump right in:

JumpingMonkey ABC
An innovative ABC app targeted at kids 4 years and below. Teaches kids alphabets with the help of a fun jumping monkey. There are four languages to choose from: English as well as Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba; the three major Nigerian languages. Kids can help the monkey get bananas by getting the right alphabet which helps monkey jump closer and closer to its goal.

The unique, "Nigerian" aspect of this app is the option it provides for your child to learn or practice his or her ABCs not just in English but the major Nigerian languages: Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba.

The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intellectualinteractive.JumpingMonkey&hl=en

We look forward to hearing your comments/criticisms once you try the app with your little ones. Let's work together to build the next generation of Nigerian leaders!
