PoliticsRe: 1985 Newswatch Cover On Electricity by ijeebest: 9:00am On Jan 28, 2015
eleven:
This article from a Twitter handle: @MrAyeDee is based on a July, 1985 Newswatch Magazine Interview of Buhari's Minister of Mines, Power and Steel, Rilwan Lukman.

Question of the Day: Did Buhari’s Admin Provide Constant Power Supply?

The answer is actually a resounding ‘NO’…

In July 1985, 20 full months into Buhari’s military administration, here is how Rilwanu Lukman, the Junta’s Minister of Mines, Power and Steel explained the reason for Nigeria’s lack of constant power supply (electricity):

“Every Nigerian is responsible for this mess. A consumer ought to ensure he pays his bills, that his system is not overloaded and that NEPA equipment are protected.

Motorists always knock down NEPA equipment without making reports. If the Nigerian does not want to be connected illegally, he won’t be connected.

Nigerians know precisely what they are doing. It is no ignorance and they need no further education. Nigerians know that if they go out to buy rice, they have to pay for it. Electricity supply is no different.”

Question 1, did Buhari’s admin take personal responsibility for not delivering constant power supply? NO

Question 2, did Buhari’s admin blame Nigerians for the problem of not being able to deliver constant power supply? Yes.

Consequently, as we can see, the narrative about Buhari delivering constant power supply is a myth.

Worse still, despite having absolute power to do something about providing constant power supply, Buhari failed woefully, and not being able to deliver, his admin had the gall to blame Nigerians for their failure.

This is one of the challenges Jonathan has with his media & communications team. They are too inefficient. It took a guy on Twitter (@MrAyeDee) few minutes to completely rubbish Soludo's report with verifiable FACTS and expose Soludo's intellectual deceit.

Meanwhile FFK is rambling nonsense here without facts when there are so many facts supporting the good works of President Jonathan.

Abeg for those who are interested in reading a more matured & intelligent rebuttal, please see link:

Christianity EtcRe: Catholics Commemorate The Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary by ijeebest: 2:06pm On Aug 15, 2013
I dont know why people find it disturbing when they see catholics talk. Is this a sign of jealousy or inferiority complex? Leave catholics to be naa? Must you talk against them? or do you just get started when you see anything about them? Who are you to judge?, even if they are doing the wrong thing? Everyone is entitled to his belief so let them be. It is only in AFRICA (Sorry -Nigeria)that Christianity has the greatest followers and madness yet the most backward in terms of GODLY virtues. We have more than 1 million denominations in Nigeria today... how has that changed the life of the average Nigerian?

Until we listen to Majek Fashek, Karl Marx, Fela Anukulapo Kuti etc, We will continue to wallow in ........

President Morsi overthrown in Egypt
Head of constitutional court named interim leader by military chief.
Last Modified: 03 Jul 2013 19:31

General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi declared the removal of elected Islamist President Mohamed Morsi [Al Jazeera]
The Egyptian army has overthrown President Mohamed Morsi, announcing a roadmap for the country’s political future that will be implemented by a national reconciliation committee.

The head of Egypt's armed forces issued a declaration on Wednesday evening suspending the constitution and appointing the head of the constitutional court as interim head of state.

In a televised broadcast, flanked by military leaders, religious authorities and political figures, General Abdel
Fattah al-Sisi effectively declared the removal of Morsi.

Sisi called for presidential and parliamentary elections, a panel to review the constitution and a national reconciliation committee that would include youth movements. He said the roadmap had been agreed by a range of political groups.
