Hi, This should not be an issue. The flight ticket I used was one of those 72 hours tickets that expired before a decision was made on my application. CoconutiHR: |
Hi, I got a Netherlands visa last year through the French Consulate. I went to Amsterdam with it, no issues at all. In Nigeria, France issues visas on behalf of Netherlands. Under remarks you should see R/NL. This implies France issued on behalf of Netherlands. Enjoy your trip! cucumbar: |
Hi, I did this last year so I'm speaking from experience. You will apply through the French consulate. Fill the France visa application form here- https://france-visas.gouv.fr/en/online-application . For "main destination of stay", select Netherlands (it's the last option so you have to scroll). The arrival address should also be in the Netherlands. Additionally, I booked an appointment and submitted through TLS. My cover letter was addressed to the Consulate of France but in it, I mentioned my intent to visit the Netherlands. My visa sticker was issued by France but under remarks, "R/NL" was written to indicate Netherlands. All the best! tpain121: |
That's weird. It's dialing fine on my phone. Just copy as is and call. No need to add the plus sign (+). Also no bracket () and no dash (-) All the best! Habibasunramu: |

Hi Lagos Consulate 2342014603400 Habibasunramu: |
Hi, This page on the AVITS site addresses your question. https://www.usvisaappt.com/visa/page?country=NG&apiPageName=refusal221G&locale=en All the best! Lanrebobokay: |
Hi, Thank you. olasubomy: |
Hi, Please confirm- did he have to pay any fees to collect? olasubomy: |
Hi, I am in your cousin's shoes- visa issued but no pickup mail. I booked an appointment on OIS website and I was planning to simply give it a try and attempt to collect my passport. This is because at least 2 people reported here recently that they were able to collect their passports at OIS without pickup mails. One thing I noticed however, is that the OIS website does not inform you where exactly your passport is. It tells you your passport is ready for pickup and gives you the option to select pickup location. Under pickup location options, I saw multiple cities including Abuja. I selected Lagos because I submitted in Lagos. I put in my details and on the appointment page, I saw DHL Muri Okunola. I have not attended the appointment so I cannot comment beyond this but this update from you is making me wonder whether I should bother going; now that DHL and OIS both claim they don't have your cousin's passport. olasubomy: |
This your post had me laughing. The guys are "good" and if you trek from beginning of Walter Carrington down to the embassy gates, you will meet different groups. So if the first set did not get you, by the time you are getting closer to the embassy gate, you may have started contemplating if they are correct or not and so the group closer to the gate might actually be the ones to "get you" 😂😂😂 As a rule of thumb, no matter the embassy or submission centre I go, I study all that they require from me and make sure I have the documents. I also make a photocopy of my passport datapage (even if they don't ask) After I have all required documents, I must enter the embassy or collection centre first, before I listen to any request for any extra document. Besides, the embassies/application centre usually provide such services too; even if it will be expensive. I would rather get inside and know if anything extra is needed than patronise the touts. djbaju: |
Hi, Yes, you can definitely get a visit visa without applying with your spouse. There is no rule that stipulates you must apply as a couple. Your spouse might have no interest in traveling. Some people might even say the fact that your spouse is not traveling is a way to prove ties to Nigeria i.e you have something to return back to in Nigeria and won't abscond in the US. All the best! Hi Sorry about your experience. Those touts have been using the same tricks for ages. They present themselves as experts and ask applicants to carry out unnecessary tasks in order for them to earn dishonest money. Eg they would ask applicants to staple- it will turn out the embassy doesn't need the staples. Imagine if one then pays the ridiculous amounts the touts charge and the visa is denied. It would be extremely infuriating! As djbaju said, ignore them 100%. All the best to those who are making physical appearances at the embassy! djbaju: |
Hi, Thank you for the update. There seems to be so little information on pickups. For me, I submitted IW documents in Lagos. My visa was issued over a week ago and still no pickup mail. Within this period, I have used the chat box on the new site twice and in both instances they asked me to wait for pickup instructions. I decided to sign up on OIS. From the OIS website, my passport is ready for pickup, where it is exactly is what I don't know. Anyway, I have booked a free pickup and will go searching for my passport. I will share an update once I have gone for the appointment. All the best to everyone! beautyuche: |
Hi, The problem is- as far as I can tell, no one has mentioned here that they received a pickup mail within the last 2 weeks. However, two people have mentioned that they tracked their application status on CEAC and after seeing their visas had been issued, they decided to visit DHL (without a pickup mail). From DHL, they were both directed to OIS (the new service provider) and both were able to collect their passports at OIS. As I recall, they applied in two different states and as such had different DHL offices for their document delivery. You can go back some pages on this thread to read their experiences. All the best! Hi! To apply for a US visa now, you need to first create a profile online using the new website https://www.usvisaappt.com/visa/country?country=NG After you register you can then navigate to the payment page. Payment can be done online by card (USD payment only) or by transfer. You can also pay physically at the bank. Visit link below to read full details about payment https://www.usvisaappt.com/visa/page?country=NG&apiPageName=visaFees&locale=en All the best! sakieja: |
Hi! Were you able to make some progress? I just thought to check in since you mentioned you couldn't track your application. All the best! thediva: |
Hi. I have no idea really. One can only speculate. Visa decisions are made by consular officers. I really hope though, that your passport is released ahead of your upcoming trip. All the best! Mongodbjs: |
Hi! I'll suggest 2 things: Suggestion 1- you wait for the link to access the new site. Your data history is with them. It just seems to be taking a bit of time for them to migrate everyone. They're probably treating cases in batches and doing the closest interview dates first. I got this quoted message from the new site earlier this week "Please be advised that the data migration for appointments scheduled in the previous system for November 2024 and beyond is still in progress and may take at least another week to complete. We kindly request that you refrain from creating new profiles and instead wait for the activation link, as creating a new profile will not facilitate the transfer of your data from the previous system. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time." Suggestion 2- contact their customer care. There's now a chat button on the site and also a call button. You can use this to explain your case i.e you created an appointment for 2026 and have an emergency that requires you to be in the US for November. Let them advise on the best way to proceed. All the best! Prettymundne: |
Hi! I'm glad you could figure it out. If possible, I suggest you get a September 11 appointment on OIS since that's the date you had from the former website. Or at least contact customer care to be sure it doesn't matter so that you don't get turned back due to technicalities. I'm not an official. Just sharing my thoughts. All the best! customised87: |
Hi, There's something I read on the new site that may apply to you. Apparently, the OIS has both free and paid options. To take advantage of the free, you need to book an appointment ahead and not just show up. Two people mentioned here that they had to pay N48k at OIS. One of them was dropping off for interview waiver whereas the other person was picking up their passport. By getting an appointment on the OIS site ahead, you should be able to avoid this charge. I suggest you read the message below and take action. All the best! Message quoted from the bottom part of this page- https://www.usvisaappt.com/visa/page?country=NG&apiPageName=interviewWaiver&locale=en "If you qualified for the Interview Waiver procedure, you may submit your application documents as following: - drop-off the documents free of charge and by appointment; or - drop-off the documents with the paid service at the OIS offices in Abuja and Lagos listed below. (Please note that application documents are not being sent between consular cities. You must submit your documents in the consular city where you intend to apply for the visa.) Proceed with registering on the page and select your documents pick-up/drop off option." Twindado: |

Hi, I am sharing an update on this. I just contacted them using the chat feature on the new site. I was asked if I had created a profile on the new platform, I said no and I was told to wait for their email. So, I will wait. All the best! Eddykurrent: |
Hello everyone For those who paid the MRV prior and also those who already scheduled appointments, the info below may apply to you. I was using the chat button on the new site and it asked me a question about whether I had paid the MRV fee, when I clicked yes, the information below came up. You may need to exercise some patience while waiting for the activation link All the best! "If you already paid the MRV fee with the previous service provider, your fee is still within the validity period, and you have received a notification coming from noreply@usvisaappt.com , you need to sign up on: https://usvisaappt.com/ and review your new scheduling profile. Please be advised that the data migration for appointments scheduled in the previous system for November 2024 and beyond is still in progress and may take at least another week to complete. We kindly request that you refrain from creating new profiles and instead wait for the activation link, as creating a new profile will not facilitate the transfer of your data from the previous system. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time." |
Hi, Someone mentioned they got their mail yesterday so it could be that they are rolling it out in batches. I would suggest you keep an eye on your mail and contact them about 1 week to your interview if you still haven't received the login details. All the best! Mjolnir: |
Hi, Does the newly printed appointment mention your drop off location? If it does, then there shouldn't be any issues. All the best! Aramide2041: |
I am in your shoes- i.e visa issued but no pickup mail. I have been waiting for the pickup mail. The good thing is that the CEAC tracker mentions that passports are expected to be returned in 10 working days so that gives some level of indication of how long we need to wait. Message quoted below is part of the pop up window on the CEAC tracker "The consular section has completed processing your application and your visa has been issued. If you do not receive your passport and visa within 10 working days, please contact the embassy or consulate where you submitted your application" Eddykurrent: |
Thank you so much. This is incredibly useful. Browser123: |
Hello everyone. For interview waiver applicants that submitted before the new platform was introduced, has anyone received a pickup mail? |
Hi! My assumption was that those of us that were able to submit IW at DHL can expect to pickup at DHL because DHL pickup still extends till September 18 (see message below) Please note,I'm not an authority on the matter, just an applicant myself but that's what I think. The information below is from the ustraveldocs site (pops up when you try to access the Nigerian page on ustraveldocs). I've included the link so anyone can check it out. Message on https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/en/landing "The last day to pick up documents at DHL premium locations is September 16, 2024. The last day to drop off documents at DHL regular locations in Abuja, Surulere, Victoria Island, and Lagos is August 23, 2024. The last day to pick up documents at DHL Regular is September 18, 2024." OyoTunjiUSA: |
Hi! I had same experience on the old platform when I wanted to book my IW appointment. It took two days for them to approve. I got a mail saying "Request to schedule has been approved" I'll suggest you keep checking your mail and spambox. All the best! Jtom301: Jtom301: |
Hi! Read the message below from the new site. The link to the exact page is at the end. You can visit the page and get further enlightened. However, I expect your appointment mail to carry the location for drop off. All the best! Documents Submission Options If you qualified for the Interview Waiver procedure, you may submit your application documents as following: drop-off the documents free of charge and by appointment; or drop-off the documents with the paid service at the OIS offices in Abuja and Lagos listed below.
