Hi! It looks like for card payment, you can only pay in USD. The info below is copied from the new site. You can read up by checking under the "non-immigrant visas tab" under "visa fees and payment" Visa Fee Payment Options Before paying the visa fee, you need to sign up on this website and start the scheduling process. Once you have selected the visa type and provided the personal details, you will be able to choose between the following payment options: - Cash payment or electronic funds transfer in local currency at First Bank of Nigeria; or - Card payment in USD. - Bank Deposit option (Cash or Electronic Transfer (EFT)): When accessing this payment option, you must generate and download a payment deposit slip by clicking on the ''Generate'' button accessible on the screen. Follow the instructions on the deposit slip to make a cash payment at the bank or EFT payment through online banking. These payments are to be made in local currency only. There are two pieces of information on the deposit slip that are extremely important for a successful payment: *Transaction Reference Number – You must indicate it accurately when making the payment. This number will allow the appointment system to validate your visa fee payment and allow you to proceed further with the visa application process. *Expiration Date – You have three (3) days to pay the visa application fee from the date you generate the deposit slip. Please check the expiration date on the deposit slip and ensure you pay the fee before the mentioned expiration date. If the slip expires, please log back into your profile and generate a new one by following the same steps. After making a payment via Cash or EFT, please allow one business day for the bank to process the transaction before continuing to the appointment calendar to book an appointment. - Card Payment option: When accessing this payment option, you will be prompted to introduce your card details to complete the transaction. This payment is to be made in USD only. There is no wait time for the transaction to be processed. Upon completing a successful transaction, you will be able to proceed immediately to the appointment calendar to book an appointment. agathacally: |
It's on the official instagram and X (formerly twitter) handles of the US in Nigeria. The handle is @usinnigeria on both platforms. Check it for yourself. dsureguy: |
Hi. I copied the message below from the new website and I believe it addresses your case "If you had an appointment scheduled on the previous website, your appointment remains on the original date you selected. You will receive an automatic communication within the next two business days to the email address you registered on the previous website. You do not need to contact us; your instructions to set-up your account will be sent directly to your registered email address." To see it for yourself, you can visit the new site. Right at the top of the page, after the welcome message, click and expand on number 2 "Applicants with future appointments scheduled before August 26" https://www.usvisaappt.com/visa/country?country=NG All the best! sanyaolurilwan: |
I understand your concerns and I would be concerned too. There is an option on the new site to call/message them. I suggest you give that a try. Here's the link to the site- https://www.usvisaappt.com/visa/country?country=NG thediva: |
When did you submit? For me, when I searched on CEAC the day I submitted at DHL (Surulere, Lagos), I got the same "search did not return any data" but by the next day, it had changed to "application received". Regarding ustraveldocs, the US has changed their service provider that's why the ustraveldocs isn't working. If you attempt to access the traveldocs page now, you'll see a message saying it's no longer the platform for US visa applications. All the best! thediva: |
Hi, I understand your confusion. My IW appointment had the same Walter Carrington under "Consular Appointment Details". Then the DHL office was under "Document Delivery Information". I submitted at DHL. They only collected documents 1-3 from me, no other document. I submitted 2 international passports because my expired visa is in an expired passport. You can scroll down your appointment confirmation mail- it has details of the drop off and what documents they will collect. I am not sure if this will impact your submission but it's worth mentioning. I am quoting this line from the US update regarding their new service provider "August 23, 2024 – Last day to drop off your documents at regular courier locations for delivery to the Embassy or Consulate." You can read the full update on their website here https://ng.usembassy.gov/attention-visa-service-change-notice/ All the best! Moty111: |

I'll suggest you wait till the new website comes up on August 26. If you scroll up the thread, people successfully rebooked interviews after missing the mail informing them their appointment had been rescheduled. The email informing me my appointment had been rescheduled also said I could rebook (after the appointment date) if the new date wasn't convenient. I didn't have to rebook though. You can also try to reach customer service again to update them on the issue you encountered when trying to rebook the appointment. MysTeerioz: |
The US is changing their visa services provider this August and I believe that is why you could not pay in the bank. I copied the following info from the article they shared on their page. If your travel is not urgent, I'll suggest you wait till August 26 when the new visa appointment website goes live. It looks like you may be able to pay on the new site direct. "August 8, 2024 – Last day to pay visa fees in cash at the bank. August 15, 2024 – Last day to access your account on ustraveldocs.com to pay the visa application fee online, schedule appointments, and contact customer service. August 21, 2024 – Last day to drop off your documents at Premium Delivery locations. August 23, 2024 – Last day to drop off your documents at regular courier locations for delivery to the Embassy or Consulate. August 26, 2024– New visa appointment website goes live. Fee payments, appointment scheduling, and customer service are available. New document drop-off and pickup locations are available." You can read the full article on their site using the link below. https://ng.usembassy.gov/attention-visa-service-change-notice/ That said, if you have the GTB app, you might still be able pay online today. Someone can also pay on your behalf using the GTB app. For fees, the current B1/B2 fee is N305250. The fee in USD remains 185USD but the amount in naira changes as the exchange rate fluctuates. You can check the link below for the latest info on GTBank https://www.gtbank.com/personal-banking/services/e-banking/us-visa-fees-payment sakieja: |
Submitted for IW at DHL Surulere. It was super fast. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They had a notice on their wall saying the last day to pickup passports at their office is September 18. This made me realise 2 things. First, the US is not just changing their online platform, they're changing their service provider from DHL. I wonder if they'll do VFS like some European countries. Second, it gives an idea of the latest time I can expect the visa to be issued i.e if passport collection ends September 18, they'll probably have treated all submissions prior to that. |
You will definitely need to pay individually. If you're paying on the GTB app, you're required to input name of applicant, passport number, DOB and phone number. You'll have to do so one at a time. Folayommie: |
The list of documents required is in your appointment letter. Scroll down to the instructions and you will see the info 76ta: |
I selected the appointment date in June and chose December. I think you should still continue with the process, if they bump it up, they give you the option to reschedule. The words quoted below were in my email "If you are unable to attend your appointment, you can schedule another appointment 48 hours after your appointment date." Mjolnir: |
Na wa! By force new date. Hopefully you can get a September date as you initially wanted. Thank you for sharing the wait time. dasayo: |
That's interesting and very unexpected. My concern now is how quickly they can release my passport because I am planning to travel in September. fkj950ax: |
I have just had a very interesting experience and thought to ask if anyone is experiencing the same. I got a mail (found it in my spam today) saying that my IW date has been rescheduled from December 2024 to July/August 2024. I thought it must be spam but I decided to log into US travel docs all the same. Upon logging in, lo and behold, I have a new appointment date in August. Did anyone experience this? |
Thank you very much! puffmama: |
Hello everyone! I'm in the process of renewing my US visa and I qualify for an interview waiver. I have two questions please: 1. Does joining a group where they collaboratively check dates for interview waivers really help with securing an earlier appointment? From what I can see on the travel docs site, the earliest date for Lagos IW is November. 2. How many appointment changes is one entitled to? I want to go ahead and book November but I want to know if I can change my appointment peradventure an earlier date crops up. For anyone who knows the answers to my questions, your response would be appreciated. Thank you! |
Thank you. No, I wasn't charged. PhilexOG: |
Oh. I definitely selected Netherlands. My form mentioned main destination country as Netherlands Zoey1: |
Thank you. France processes Netherlands tourist visa applications in Nigeria. I applied through the French embassy (filled France forms and submitted at TLS) but Netherlands was on my form as my port of entry and all my flight/hotel bookings/itinerary were for Netherlands. What I noticed is that even though it's a French sticker, under remarks on my visa, they wrote "R/NL" I discovered online that this remark indicates France issued on behalf of the Netherlands Zoey1: |
Thank you. Netherlands. Blessedsteph: |
Thank you! Sure - Cover letter with itinerary/reason for travel/summary of my travel history and how I intend to fund the trip - Coloured photocopies of past visas, entry and exit stamps - Hotel booking (booking.com with free cancellation. You need to add a card though and I added a USD card) - Flight booking (Qatar Airways with 72 hours book and hold. I did not pay for the ticket) - Travel Insurance from AXA Mansard (paid less than 5k for a 1 week duration) - Account statements. I run a business so I submitted both personal and business statements. I asked the bank to print and they charged about N25 per page. One of the banks said they don't print so I had to print that myself. - Bank reference letters stating how long I have had the account and that I am the sole signatory to the accounts. The reference letter costs roughly N600 per bank - Coloured photocopies of business registration documents and printout of latest tax payment Marcgrace: |
Visa issued. 3 months multiple entry. 30 days per stay. I was surprised to see a French sticker. I thought it would be Netherlands. Blessedsteph: |
I have no idea. This was my first Schengen application. Zoey1: |
I submitted April 30 and got a notification today that my passport is back at TLS. Note that I applied for Netherlands through France (i.e the French Consulate processes Netherlands visa in Nigeria). My first Schengen application though I have a travel history to over 10 countries. Hopefully, you get an application update soon. esdajo: |
