PoliticsE-X-C-L-U-S-I-V-E: The Big Fraud Committed By INEC To Rig Anambra Election by ikenna58(op): 12:35am On Nov 26, 2013
…APGA Candidate Actually Polled 91,740, Tony Nwoye actually won!

While Anambra voters are preparing to vote in the November 30th supplementary election in the state, analysts say they are suspicious of how the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) came by the number of votes allocated to the candidates, saying INEC numbers are a big fraud mathematically and statistically.

In data made exclusively available to Elombah.com, researchers have uncovered the hidden scores behind the election that was held on November 16th.

According to INEC, out of the 1,763,751 voters registered for the election, only 451,826 were accredited. Total valid votes stood at 413,005, while the invalid ones were 16,544. Total votes cast were 429,549, while 113,113 votes were nullified or cancelled as INEC used the term.

Working with this figure from INEC, our researchers acting on intelligence found a mathematical blunder.

With the stated number of votes cancelled, the State had only 316, 436 valid votes cast.

The electoral body told the world that the candidates scored the following votes, which were written against their names.

Mr.Willie Obiano of APGA got 174,710 to finish tops Mr. Tony Nwoye of PDP polled 94,956 to finish runner up Mr. Chris Ngige of APC was third with 92,300 votes Mr. Ifeanyi Ubah of LP came fourth with 37,440

The amazing results totaled 399,406 as the number of valid votes cast during the election, however, bearing in mind that INEC said 429,529 people voted, out of which 113,113 were nullified, that means only 316,436 legitimate votes were recorded.

This calculation by our researchers who carefully pored over the INC figures render the election invalid and we can therefore report with all authority that the election was rigged, as the votes allocated to the candidates do not reflect the actual numbers of voters nor the actual number of votes cast.

The implication is that the number of votes allocated to the 4 major candidates by INEC is higher than the total number of valid votes cast during the election. This does not even take into consideration the votes garnered by the remaining 18 candidates in the contest

Our sources say an extra 82970 votes was added to the votes of the APGA candidate, Willie Obaino, thus making the election a scam and a sham.

Our researchers say the INEC figure is NOT possible under any calculation in statistics or mathematics, An addition of the votes ‘scored’ by the candidate and the invalid votes brings a total 512,519 voters, thereby rendering the 429,529 votes as announced by INEC fraudulent, with same wide margin of 82,970 ghost voters added.

If the figure for the ghost voters allocated to the APGA candidate is removed, Obiano will have a legitimate vote of only 91,740 polling third to PDP’s Tony Nwoye, who is the actual winner of the election and APC’s Chris Ngige will come second. Mr. Tony Nwoye polled 94,956

Meanwhile several election monitors reported rigging in many polling centers visited, with the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) sharing N10,000 to voters for their vote.

Next Saturday’s supplementary election has been rejected by the APC and Labour candidates stating their refuse to partake in it. We also have it on good authority that the PDP candidate has also refused to partake in the supplementary election, but he is under pressure from the presidency to take part, promising him a ministerial or ambassadorial position.

I totally stand with Israel on this one...

Israel are not being selfishly-protective of themselves alone, i think they are considering the world at large.

Imagine a case where Iraq and Iran produces chemical weapons of mass destruction, and a terrorist cell hijacks these weapons!!

EducationPATHETIC - LASU Gives Away Degrees After Poorly Prepared, Multiple Choice Exams by ikenna58(op): 12:53am On Nov 25, 2013
LASU defended its decision on multiple choice only questions.

All that is required of part-time students at the Lagos State University, LASU, is to answer a set of 70 multiple choice questions every semester to be awarded a Bachelors degree, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt.

In what one university professor described as a “dangerous development” in the already poor standard of university education in the country, LASU earlier this year directed all lecturers at its part-time campuses scattered across Lagos to henceforth set only multiple choice questions for all examinations.

Copies of some questions seen by this newspaper suggest that the questions were haphazardly put together with irregular numbering, ridden with grammatical and sometimes factual errors. It is devoid of the standardised quality associated with public multiple-choice examinations.

There seems to be no effort made by the university to control and manage the standard. Invigilation during the examination was lax, if any at all, we learnt. Examination halls were so crowded that some students did their examination standing in many of the campuses.

Although results were released in record time, there were several cases of missing results.
One student at the Anthony campus described the quality of the printing papers the questions were printed on as similar to what one sees during secondary school mock examinations.

The examinations were so substandard that some enterprising students kicked against the development to the point of openly protesting against it to lecturers, PREMIUM TIMES was told.

A former student leader of the programme, Julius Adeoye, highlighted other problems with the examination:

“The literature department, for instance, write exams based on the books they’ve read. We have different lectures with different books recommended but are required to answer the exact same questions. How do you expect students at the Jibowu campus, for instance, to answer questions on a text that wasn’t recommended to them but was recommended to students at the Festac campus?

“Writing OMR will not even allow the students to grow because I can easily copy and paste but if I’m required to write theory [essay type questions] there is no way I can copy everything from another student. Students don’t even attend classes anymore they just show up for examination knowing they can easily copy the answers of other students,” he added.

Theses for sale

The LASU part-time programme is a thriving auction for the sale of results and theses, PREMIUM TIMES can reveal.

The sale of theses, we discovered, are so widespread that lecturers now brazenly ask students to pay into their bank accounts and present copies of tellers as proof of payment. Students are required to pay as much as N50,000 before their proposals are supervised or up to N150,000 to have one written for them by the lecturers themselves.

Female students are given considerable discounts if they agree to sleep with lecturers.

A student, who asked not to be named, at the Jibowu campus said he knows lecturers who merely give part-time students theses written by full-time students and ask them to be reprinted with the names of part-time students.

Another student at the Festac campus said he paid because everyone else was paying.

An image tarnishing programme

The disorderliness of the examinations and in fact the entire part time programme indicates that the university management is doing everything to rid itself of a programme with a long history of malpractices as quickly as possible.

Following report of widespread malpractices soon after the part-time programmes were relocated from the university’s main campus in Ojo into poorly equipped campuses across the state, things spiralled out of control.

The programme was over taken by a hostage mentality. The university management, lured by the high fees paid by the students, admitted more students than it could handle. Because regular lecturers couldn’t cope with the rigour of teaching regular students as well as part time students, the university management resorted to employing part-time lecturers, many of whom are secondary school teachers without any experience in teaching at the tertiary level. Worse, they were not properly monitored or mentored as one would have expected. They were left to their own devices.
PoliticsWorld Powers Reach Historic Deal With Iran On Nuclear Enrichment by ikenna58(op): 12:20am On Nov 25, 2013
Israel calls deal ‘historic mistake’

In what has been described as a landmark agreement, Iran has agreed to suspend certain aspect of its nuclear enrichment activities after an intense negotiation on Sunday with global powers in Geneva, Switzerland.

The agreement reached with the P5 + 1 group (United States, China, Germany, United Kingdom, France and Russia) would see Iran allowing inspectors greater access to its nuclear programme and halting some aspect of its nuclear enrichment process in exchange for the lifting of sanctions valued at almost $7 billion (N1.11 trillion).

The details of the deal included the following:

1. Iran voluntarily undertakes to reduce its uranium enrichment process from the current 20 per cent to 5 per cent.

2. Iran will not enrich uranium over 5 per cent for a period of six months.

3. Iran should not establish new location for uranium enrichment purpose.

4. Iran will allow enhanced monitoring and allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors greater access to its nuclear programme.

5. The suspension of EU and US sanctions on Iranian auto industry and associated services, Gold and precious metal, sale of petrochemical products as well as the repatriation of an agreed revenue held abroad amongst others sanctions.

The value of the sanctions to be lifted is put at $7 billion.

Iran’s President, Hassan Rouhan, said the deal was recognition of Iran’s nuclear right.

Iran maintained its insistence that it was enriching uranium for peaceful purposes and not to build a nuclear arsenal.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Zarif, said the agreement was a removal of any doubts about the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programme.

Notable world leaders have welcomed the deal.

The United States President, Barack Obama, said the deal contained substantial limitations which would help prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon.

He however warned that the U.S. would turn off the relief and ratchet up the pressure if Iran failed to keep to its commitments.

The U.K. Foreign Secretary, William Hague, said the agreement was good news for the whole world.

However, the Israeli government has expressed regret at the deal with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu describing it as a historic mistake.

“Today the world became a much more dangerous place because the most dangerous regime in the world made a significant step in obtaining the most dangerous weapons in the world,” he said.‪

CelebritiesNigeria’s Highest Paid Ceos: Top On The List With An Annual Remuneration Of N177 by ikenna58(op): 9:19am On Nov 22, 2013
Nigeria boasts a slew of successful CEOs in almost every sector – banking, oil and gas, sports, health and manufacturing. LEADERSHIP Friday unveils some of Nigeria’s highest paid CEOs and the stories behind their rise to the top, based on authoritative reports, between 2009 and 2012.

CEO, Stanbic IBTC, Sola David-Borha

As the managing director/CEO of Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, David-Borha is one of the country’s highly-rated bankers. She is the highest paid director in Nigeria’s banking sector, with an annual remuneration of N177m. When broken down, this becomes N484, 931 daily, including weekends when may have no reason to go to work.

David-Borha has patiently risen through the ranks to get to where she is today. She was, at different times, responsible for overseeing the corporate finance and corporate banking, projects and structure finance, as well as asset management and private banking departments. At a time, she bore the burden of supervising treasury and finance services department.

David-Borha also headed the correspondent banking relationships’ department at Stanbic IBTC and served as a member of the executive committee. She was appointed to the bank’s board in 1994 and has held other positions, including a spell as director of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, Stanbic Nominees Nigeria Limited and Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited. She was also appointed a member of the board of Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC). She did not miss serving as a member of the bank’s board credit, board nominations and risk management committees.

Having passed through these stages before rising to the pinnacle, David- Borha can be said to have, indeed, paid her dues and can be said to have exhibited a great degree of competence, experience, long career plan and hard work to get to her present position.

CEO, Mobil Oil Nigeria Limited, Tunji Oyebanji

Mobil Oil Nigeria (MON) is one of Nigeria’s major petroleum products marketing companies. As its chief executive officer, Oyebanji is on an annual remuneration of N85m. When broken down, this amounts to a daily pay of about N231, 956.

As chairman/CEO/managing director of MON, there is no doubt that Oyebanji’s hard-work, commitment and dedication has been largely responsible for the turn-around which the company’s fortune has experienced, making it stand tall among other competing oil corporates.

The company now operates more than 200 retail outlets spread across the 36 states of Nigeria and the Fedeeral Capital Territory; it owns three plants (in Apapa, Lagos State) where lubricants, petroleum jelly and insecticides are manufactured.

As at 2011, MON had an annual turn-over of N63.1bn, from N58.34bn in 2010. With a combined dividend per share of N5 and bonus issue of one for five shares, MON has, arguably, the industry’s highest priced stock.

CEO, GTBank, Olusegun Agbaje

The managing director/CEO of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), Olusegun J.K. Agbaje, is rated as one of the country’s highest paid CEOs. His GTB prides itself as “the biggest and most profitable bank in Nigeria” and one of the biggest companies on the shores of West Africa. Agbaje co-founded the GTB in 1990 with Tayo Aderinokun who died in 2011.His annual take-home is a whopping N77m.

Before assuming the current position, Agbaje was the deputy managing director of the bank between August 2002 and April 20, 2011. He has also served as the divisional head of the bank’s institutional banking division and also as acting MD of GTB (Ghana) Limited, from April 20, 2011.

Interestingly, Agbaje has served in a number of capacities before becoming the man at the helm of the bank’s affairs. He was, at different points in his career; member, Assets and Liability Management Committee; member, Criticised Assets Committee; member, Board, Information Technology Strategy Committee and member, Board, Risk Management Committee.

On his way to the top, Agbaje also served as member, board, Human Resources and Nomination Committee; member, Management Risk Committee and member, Management Credit Committee. Experience garnered from serving in these committees helped, in no small measure, in preparing him for the current position of CEO.

CEO, Oando Plc, Jubril Adewale Tinubu

According to recent financial reports, the second highest paid CEO in the oil sector is Wale Tinubu, with a total annual remuneration of N69m, an equivalent of N189, 041 per day.

Tinubu is the group chief executive of the company which has been hailed as Africa’s leading indigenous energy solutions provider listed on the stock exchange in Nigeria and Johannesburg. Tinubu also has a record of long-time service, having served on the board of various blue-chip companies as chairman and director.

His outstanding performance has won him several awards, among which are; Africa’s Business Leader of the Year awarded by the African Business Magazine and the Commonwealth Council on the basis of his contributions to the development of the African oil and gas sector in 2010. He won the same accolade in 2011, courtesy of the African Investor.

These accolades are proof that Tinubu’s ascension to the pinnacle of the administrative ladder in Oando was no fluke but a function of his doggedness and hard-work. Tinubu also holds key positions in a number of major financial institutions.

CEO, Forte Oil Plc, Akin Akinfemiwa

Forte Oil Plc. (formally African Petroleum Plc.) is a foremost indigenous major marketer of refined petroleum products with strong presence in the 36 states of the federation and Abuja. According to recent reports, as its group chief executive officer, Akinfemiwa’s annual salary is N64m (N175, 342 per day).

Prior to this appointment, Akinfemiwa had a successful career in the banking sector. He served as the CEO of Sky Bank Plc, until July 31, 2010. His expertise covers a range of areas, including; strategic planning and management, corporate banking, project financing, leadership and advisory services. He has also served as managing director/CEO of Prudent Bank.

Akinfemiwa has now brought his hard-work to bear on the fortunes of Forte Oil Plc. The public liability company which is quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has over 500 dealer-assisted and dealer-developed retail outlets spread across the country.

CEO, UBA, Phillips Oduoza

Phillips Oduoza is the chief executive officer, group managing director, and an executive director of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc. He is one of the highest paid CEOs in the banking sector, with an annual remuneration of N57m (as at 2010). It suffices to say that Oduoza is one of the few who can beat their chest in fulfilment of a banking career.

He became the CEO and managing director of the bank in August 2010 and has served as its deputy managing director (South) from the 2005. Besides having the honour of having gained monumental experience from working across different banks for more than 20 years, he has served also as the bank’s executive director of Retail Financial Services. UBA’s fortune, no doubt, has snow-balled, with results from his professional services and investment of talents as proof.

His services in the bank cut across membership of the board risk committee and financial and general purpose committee. Before assuming the position of CEO, he served as deputy managing director of the bank. Among many other designations, he was an executive director of the defunct Standard Trust Bank (STB) which was acquired by the UBA in the thick of the consolidation exercise introduced by the then-governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

CEO, Ecobank Nigeria, Jubril Aku

According to a Banks’ Financial Transparency report, as at 2009, the bank ranked second on the list of highest paid bank CEOs in Nigeria, with N88m per annum as salary for its CEO. But the bank reportedly slashed the CEO’s emolument to N38m per annum, perhaps, as a measure against financial stress.

Jubril Aku is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Ecobank Nigeria Plc. He has been its managing director since March 2010. Aku served as acting treasurer, Citibank, Tanzania and as country treasurer, Citibank Nigeria Plc.

He began his banking career in 1979 with the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc., where he worked for three years from September, 1986 to December, 1989. He served at the Continental Merchant Bank Plc., where he worked as a credit and investment analyst.

Aku has served in various capacities with different financial institutions and is, by all standards, an accomplished banker.

Au’s academic brilliance has earned him several accolades, among which are the First Bank of Nigeria Plc Prize for the Best Graduating Student in Banking and Finance at the Ahmadu Bello University, from where he graduated with honours in 1986.

CEO, Zenith Bank, Godwin Emefiele

The CEO and group managing director of Zenith Bank Plc, Godwin Emefiele, is also one of the highest paid CEOs of Nigerian companies. Emefiele succeeded the pioneer CEO of the bank, Jim Ovia, in August 2010. By his current position in the bank’s hierarchy and the number of branches it can bboast of within the country and in West Africa, it is evident that Emefiele is fulfilled.

Prior to his choice of banking as a career in Zenith Bank, Emefiele was a lecturer in University of Nigeria and University of Port Harcourt where he taught Finance, Bank Management and Insurance. However, he later left the academia for banking. He joined Zenith as a pioneer staff over 22 years ago and has proved his worth in advancing the bank as well as increasing its fortunes and profitability. In 2001, he was appointed deputy managing director before succeeding Ovia three years ago.

He has also served as member of Executive Committee, member of Board Credit Committee, member of Staff Matters, Finance and General Purpose Committee and member of Board Risk Management Committee. Emefiele’s services and impact were also felt in Management Global Credit Committee, Risk Management committee, Assets and Liabilities Committee and Information Technology Steering Committee where he served as member.

The advancements made by the bank are not without the inputs of Emefiele who served as executive director in charge of corporate banking. He as well served in the treasury, financial control and strategic planning department. He has been in the management team of Zenith Bank from its inception.

With the completion of the European and African play-offs, as well as the intercontinental tie between New Zealand and Mexico, only one more place at the 2014 World Cup is up for grabs ahead of this week's final intercontinental play-off involving Uruguay and Jordan.

Tuesday's games saw Portugal book their ticket for next summer's tournament at the expense of Sweden as Cristiano Ronaldo netted four goals over two matches to help his side to a 4-2 aggregate win.

France, meanwhile, completed an impressive comeback at the Stade de France as they beat Ukraine 3-0 to overturn their 2-0 surprise loss from last Friday.

Elsewhere, Croatia eliminated Iceland as they recorded a 2-0 home win after a scoreless draw in the first leg last week. The final European ticket went to Greece, who sealed qualification with a 1-1 draw versus Romania after a 3-1 first-leg victory.

In Africa, Nigeria became the first team to make it to next year's finals as they beat Ethiopia 2-0 at the weekend to make it 4-1 on aggregate. Cote d'Ivoire also booked their ticket on Saturday as they held Senegal to a 1-1 draw following their first-leg win.

On Sunday, Cameroon qualified with a 4-1 home win over Tunisia, while Ghana eliminated Egypt 7-3 on aggregate despite their 2-1 defeat on Tuesday. Finally, Algeria sealed their World Cup berth following a 1-0 home-win over Burkina Faso that saw them qualify on away goals.

Wednesday's intercontinental play-off between Mexico and New Zealand then saw the former become the penultimate team to reach next summer's tournament. A 4-2 away-win more than proved enough after a heavy 5-1 victory in the first leg.

The field for the 2014 World Cup will be completed later on Wednesday when Uruguay defend a 5-0 lead at home against Jordan.

swiftrobin: Away from the tension generated from the online test issue...as i read through the confirmatory mail i received from lumesse (not many persons got the @lumesse mail initially) for me it shows a company with a great sense of responsibility, honesty and attention to detail. I mean common, I'm not even am employee and PwC went the extra mile to make sure I'm on a level-playing field as my other applicants; a classical example of leaving the 99 in search for 1. Not many companies would do that, considering the tons of applications they have to process. The pay may not be compared to what other graduates earn in the O&G, but I'll love to work for a company that has a heart. As is the desire of many a footballer to play for Real Madrid, Barca and the likes, most of which doesn't pull through, PwC may not be the 'Real Madrid' of companies, but in the long run one can still build a successful career with them.
After i received a regret mail from shell, i approached my boss who works there(i did my IT in SPDC Port Harcourt IA), he advised i build my career with companies like KPMG, Accenture and PwC, arm myself with an MSc, then apply to Shell as an experienced professional.
Now go back to studying for the tests grin tongue
