A Lagos-based woman has petitioned the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) over alleged burglary, theft, document forgery and threats to life involving a prominent oil and gas businessman from Delta State. The petitioner alleged that the businessman, with whom she reportedly had a relationship spanning over seven years, bought for her a luxury four-bedroom apartment with a two-room boys’ quarters located at Apartment B702, No. 19 Glover Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. According to her, she had been residing in the property since 2024 and possessed all ownership documents in her name, while also paying service charges through the estate management company, Prestigious Homes. She alleged that the dispute began in January 2026 after the businessman spent the night at her apartment. The woman claimed that upon waking up the next morning, she discovered that a used menstrual pad she had discarded in her bathroom waste bin had mysteriously disappeared. Suspicious, she reportedly contacted the businessman to question him about the missing item. According to her petition, the businessman initially denied any knowledge of the incident, but after a confrontation, the used sanitary pad was allegedly recovered from his pocket. The woman said the development left her frightened, as she suspected possible ritual motives behind the act. She further alleged that she fled the apartment for safety and locked up the residence. However, days later, she claimed she observed through her CCTV camera application that associates of the businessman unlawfully gained access into the apartment and removed valuables, including a Range Rover, a 2024 Lexus RX350, cash estimated at about $50,000 and ₦10 million, as well as jewelry allegedly worth over £200,000. The petitioner also alleged that documents relating to the ownership of the property, including the deed of assignment prepared in her name by Prestigious Homes, were fraudulently altered and reissued in the businessman’s name before being registered at the Federal Land Registry. She further claimed that members of her family, including her mother and sibling, had been subjected to threats, harassment and intimidation over the matter. Expressing fears for her safety, the woman alleged that the businessman was using his influence and financial power against her. The matter has since been reported to the Police Special Fraud Unit in Lagos, which is currently investigating the allegations.

Commissioner of Police (CP) Akaninyene Ezima has assumed office as the new Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC), bringing over three decades of policing experience to the country’s frontline agency against cyber threats. Ezima, who joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, steps into the role at a time when Nigeria faces increasing challenges from cybercrime and other digital security threats. Over the years, he has built a reputation for professionalism and operational efficiency, serving in several critical positions across the Force. He was Deputy Commissioner of Police at Zone 17 Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Akure and also held key leadership roles as Zonal Head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ibadan, Lagos, Benin, and Kano. His tenure at the EFCC was marked by notable anti-corruption efforts that earned him commendations. Before his latest appointment, Ezima served as Commissioner of Police at the Force Intelligence Department Annex in Lagos, where he further strengthened intelligence-driven policing operations. His appointment as Director of the NPF-NCCC is widely seen as a strategic move, leveraging his extensive investigative background and leadership experience to enhance Nigeria’s response to cybercrime. Ezima takes over from the pioneer Director of the Centre, Assistant Inspector General of Police Uche Ifeanyi Henry, who was recently promoted and redeployed to head the Department of Training and Development at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. With his new role, Ezima is expected to spearhead efforts to combat cybercrime, strengthen digital security frameworks, and improve the Force’s capacity to tackle emerging online threats across the country.

A Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned proceedings in a contempt case involving the Incorporated Trustees of Divine Homes Residents’ Association and several individuals to May 11 and 12, 2026. Presiding judge, Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa, fixed the new dates after noting that most of the alleged contemnors failed to appear in court despite an earlier order directing their attendance. The contempt proceedings were initiated by a resident, Henry Uche Nwabueze, over a protracted leadership dispute within the estate. At the resumed hearing, counsel to the alleged contemnors, Abdullahi Tony Dania, informed the court that the substantive issues in the matter are already before the Court of Appeal. He also disclosed that his clients had filed a preliminary objection challenging the suit. Dania accused the applicant of abusing court processes by filing multiple suits on the same subject and abandoning them when proceedings did not go in his favour. He further alleged procedural irregularities, including the use of ex parte applications to obtain far-reaching orders without notifying affected parties. According to him, some of the orders that led to the contempt proceedings were granted without the knowledge of the defendants, including directives to freeze the association’s bank accounts. He also claimed that the applicant had previously filed similar suits against financial institutions and later refiled them before a different judge after failing to comply with court directives. Another defence counsel, Valentine Agwu, alleged that the applicant was using multiple court actions and law enforcement agencies to harass the respondents. However, counsel to the applicant, Rotimi Adalumo, denied the allegations, insisting that his client acted within the bounds of the law. A key issue raised during proceedings was an allegation by the defence that Adalumo had, at different times, represented both the plaintiff and some of the defendants in related matters, including correspondence with a commercial bank. The defence argued that this raised concerns about conflicting representation. In his remarks, Justice Lewis-Allagoa maintained that his earlier order requiring all alleged contemnors to appear in court remains in force, stressing that their presence is necessary before any applications can be considered. Although the judge expressed concern over their absence, he granted them the benefit of the doubt and adjourned the matter for further hearing. During the session, a fresh ex parte motion filed by the applicant’s counsel was brought to the court’s attention by the registrar. The application was subsequently withdrawn and struck out. The case is expected to continue in May as the court considers both the contempt claims and the preliminary objections raised by the defence |
In a remarkable show of dedication to education and professional growth, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has raised the bar for excellence within the Nigeria Police Force as its Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retired), recently demonstrated a profound commitment to promoting officers who have pursued advanced academic qualifications, recognizing the significance of education in modern policing. This exemplary move came after a visit to the Police Academy in Kano, where DIG Argungu encountered officers who had earned doctorate degrees while working to improve Nigeria’s security landscape. As DIG Argungu noted, the promotion of such officers is a worthy recognition of their dedication and sacrifice. His call for further promotions sends a strong message throughout the ranks: that the pursuit of knowledge is respected, encouraged, and rewarded within the Force. As a worthy recognition, the PSC has promoted four deserving officers serving as lecturers at the Police Academy in Kano: CSP Favour Fadawag, who has now risen to Assistant Commissioner of Police, alongside Inspectors Shide Sunday, Oparaji Benjamin Chetachi Ukwu, and Benjamin Wanger, who were promoted to Assistant Superintendents of Police. This unprecedented step is transforming the Force into one that values continuous learning, thereby laying a foundation for an institution rooted in knowledge, transparency, and accountability. The Importance of Education and Recognition in Law Enforcement Promoting officers who have pursued higher education sends a powerful signal to the police community and the nation: learning and professional development are indispensable components of effective policing. By honoring these officers, the PSC affirms that the men and women who invest in knowledge are crucial to building a disciplined, modern police force that prioritizes service and integrity. DIG Argungu emphasized that all police officers in training institutions who possess advanced qualifications will be considered for promotion. The police community is waiting for the Commission to swiftly fulfil its promise to PhD holders whose contributions to training and development reflect the values of professionalism and intellectual growth that the PSC champions. Such officers are waiting to add the respected “Dagger +” symbol next to their names as a badge of academic achievement. Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, also a PhD holder, along with his management team, deserves recognition for supporting this progressive initiative. Their leadership demonstrates a commitment to a Nigeria Police Force that is knowledgeable, equipped to tackle complex challenges, and motivated by merit-based advancement. Other agencies, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), have paved the way by acknowledging officers with higher academic credentials, setting a standard that the Nigeria Police Force is now embracing. The Role of Police Colleges and Training Schools in Shaping the Force These training institutions are more than just grounds for skill acquisition; they are where officers shape their values, hone their abilities, and become the backbone of the Nigeria Police Force. They encompass a range of colleges and schools across the nation, each tasked with preparing officers for the diverse demands of law enforcement: 1. Police Training School, Ikeja 2. Police Staff College, Jos 3. Police Academy, Wudil, Kano 4. Police College, Ikeja 5. Police College, Kaduna 6. Police College, Maiduguri 7. Police College, Oji-River 8. Police Detective College, Enugu 9. Police College of Information Technology, Abeokuta 10. Police Mobile Training School, Gwoza 11. Police Mobile Training School, Ila-Orangun 12. Mounted/Dog Training Schools, Jos 13. Traffic Training School, Ikeja 14. Police School of Music, Ikeja 15. Police School of Communication, Ikeja & Kaduna 16. Police School of Anti-Terrorism, Nonwa-Tai 17. Police Training School, Sokoto 18. Police Training School, Bauchi 19. Police Training School, Minna 20. Police Training School, Jos 21. Police Training School, Nonwa Tai 22. Police Training School, Ibadan 23. Police Training School, Benin City 24. Police Training School, Oyin Akoko 25. Police Training School, Makurdi 26. Police Training School, Iperu 27. Police Training School, Calabar 28. Police Training School, Ilorin These institutions, under the FHQ’s ‘E’ Department (Training), play a critical role in shaping the capabilities and ethical standards of officers. It is within these schools that advanced-degree holders can make a particularly profound impact, contributing knowledge and cultivating the next generation of law enforcement professionals. The Need for Swift Action and a Transparent Promotion Process The PSC’s decision to reward officers with advanced qualifications is a transformative move, but it must go beyond words. DIG Argungu’s assurance that the PSC will “encourage merit and personal development as motivation” is a powerful mandate, and the police community is expecting swift implementation across all police training schools. Officers who invest in higher learning and dedicate themselves to training others embody the principles of service and commitment. Recognizing them through timely promotion is not only a reward for their sacrifice but also an essential morale boost for the entire Force. Furthermore, the PSC’s stance against corruption in recruitment and training underscores its commitment to building an ethical and accountable institution. DIG Argungu’s declaration that “enemies of our country” engaging in corrupt practices will face the law reinforces a vision of a Nigeria Police Force dedicated to justice and integrity. This is particularly important within the context of training institutions, where new recruits and aspiring officers learn the foundations of ethical conduct. The Nigeria Police Force is at a pivotal moment. Under the leadership of DIG Argungu, IGP Egbetokun, and other progressive minds, the Force is setting a new standard—one where knowledge, dedication, and transparency lead the way. The call for promoting PhD-holding officers within the training institutions should be answered swiftly, as it symbolizes not just recognition but a promise of a brighter, more empowered police force.

Honestly, getting a job in Nigeria graduating with a 2.2 can be difficult as most organizations prefer second class upper or even first class certificate holders as the least requirements that the applicants are expected to have to apply for job openings. Believe you me, this is a cruel factor on the part of these companies offering vacancies in Nigeria using this as a job requirement as anyone who has passed through a Nigerian university would know what it feels like to graduate with a good grade. Although, the whole crux or blame will not fall solely on the lecturers or companies as you would agree with me that most Nigerian students spend the first two years of their stay in the university playing, partying and missing those important lectures then start becoming serious in the remaining two years at the university especially at their finals. These students should have known better that once you start on the wrong note, it becomes nearly impossible to finish with a good grade in Nigeria which means either having a first class or 2.1 as a university graduate; anything short of this is considered not good enough. Well, this doesn’t mean that graduates who have a third-class or even a pass do not get good jobs at the end of the day. It is the things done by graduates after leaving school that will determine how far they will go in getting their dream jobs. According to Naij.com, below are things you can do to improve your chances of getting a good job if you graduated with a 2.2. 1. Change your mentality Finishing with a 2.2 is not the end of the world. Some graduates in the past refused to attend their convocation ceremonies simply because they did not do well by their own standards. You are who you think you are; do not allow some grade written on a paper to prevent you from moving forward and doing something meaningful with your life. You attitude towards life must change if you want to leave your footsteps in the sands of time. 2. Discover what you are good at If you are a Nigeria you must have heard this popular phrase ‘Exam is not the true test of someone’s ability’. You might have finished with a 2.2 by not doing so well in a course. Most people make a particular grade by few points. Do not dwell on this grade, find what you are good at and see where it takes you to. What are your unique attributes? Lay more emphasis on them when applying for jobs. 3. Boost your confidence and communication skills Those who graduate with a 2.1 may have a big problem getting a job if they do not know how to sell themselves. To get a good job with a 2.2 grade, you have to develop some skills that will be highly useful to the companies you are applying to. Improve on your communication skills and you have a great chance of convincing an employer to give you the job. 4. Add professional certifications to your grade Instead of drooling on the grade you have made in school, you can make plans to boost your qualifications. Take short certificate courses and improve yourself the best way you can. You will be surprised to see how far you will go when you do this. Graduates with professional certifications stand a better chance of getting jobs irrespective of their grades in school. 5. Do all it takes to gain experience At this point, you should not focus on making money if you want to make it big. Do not let your ego overrule when offered job in smaller companies. Jump at those opportunities because they will prepare you for the road ahead. It is a learning curve; whatever experience you gain there may give you an edge over those who finished with good grades. 6. Drop your CV everywhere Your CVs are to be shared everywhere; do not see this as a waste of paper and money. You never can tell when the hard copies would be picked by some interested employers. You stand to lose more if you do not risk taking a risk. Make yourself available for every job till you get to the stage where you can make a choice and turn down offers. 7. Network Be opened to networking in order to meet important people in the labour market. The social media should be used as a tool for meeting important contacts that can change your life forever. Do not appear less serious on it; there are a couple of pages that you can sell yourself and make employers get attracted to your profile. LinkedIn, Facebook and other pages can connect you with important people in the society. Be available to go for conferences and have the contacts of these people. You may need them to call a shot on your behalf one day. 8. Pray for GRACE There are some job applications that grace will take over for you if you pray. Grace makes the unqualified qualified. Finishing with a 2.2 should not discourage you and prevent you from soaring high in life. Apply for jobs and ask for divine intervention at every point in time. Some graduates have gotten six figure jobs in places where they do not know anyone and are not qualified. When the world expects you to know someone, tell them you know God and see what happens next. http://www.nigerianinfopedia.com/get-job-graduating-2-2/ cc: lalasticlala, Mynd44, Seun, 1forall, CrazyMan |

Attack me directly or indirectly, call it crazy mentality or mentalibread, i have dropped a bitter truth which the world would not accept. |
Attack me all you like, but I must say the truth. Young Nigerian ladies are fashion savvy, they love the latest wears, shoes, hair style in vogue. Most of these young girls in Nigeria consciously and unconsciously wear the wrong dress code all in the name of fashion or to look good just to please the opposite $ex. The funny aspect is that they mimmick famous female world celebrities who on their part are paid for what they do or better still, are promoting a particular fashion brand. Most Nigerian young girls have gone as far as dressing almost niude in the society loosing that sense of decency and conforming to vice calling it good since it is pleasing to the eye of the beholder. Below are top 5 things Naija Xpose term as “demonic” that young girls in Nigeria put on all in the name of fashion 1. Bum shorts Most young girls in Nigeria are guilty of this. You see them walk the streets of Nigeria on bum shorts, exposing almost all their bodies. What a generation!!! and we wonder who even started this demonic trend in a country like Nigeria 2. Choker necklace In the 19th century, wearing a plain, thin, red or black ribbon choker meant you were a prostitute. A plain black woven choker signified lesbianism. This resurfaced fashion trend is demonic expression driven from the pit of hell according to pastors and parents. You will even hear them refer to eat as dog collar. 3. Crop Tops There exist a thick line between beautiful and beautiful nonsense. Putting on decent clothes is beautiful but putting on half clothing is beautiful nonsense. 4. Crazy Jeans The funny thing about this confused fashion item is even in its name “crazy jeans” which of course should resemble the person wearing it. Have we evolved to a point where rags are considered clothing? or maybe we are nostalgic of the times when the first humans; Adam and Eve roamed the garden of Eden without clothes and were anxiously wanting to relive that naked feeling. 5. Trousers We know most young and grown ladies will argue about this, but the Holy book i.e the Bible made it clear in the book of Deuteronomy which says “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.” Source http://www.nigerianinfopedia.com/5-demonic-things-young-girls-nigeria-wear-name-fashion/ |
