Ohk. I know someone that had this and he had to write to the school to send a revised LOA without the second option so it would clearly be a 1 year program before he reapplied.
Thank you. I will explore that option.

No. As long as the new LOA is clearly stating it's a 1 year program
The LOA has always stated 1 to 2 years as program duration. But I applied for two years for my first application. I want to apply for one year now.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Ikpumbe1: 9:44am On Sep 15, 2023
Please my first study application was refused due to not properly explained lump sums. It is a two years course with option of completing in one year if I forgo the Co-op part of the program. My first application was before naira devaluation by Tinubu. So even if I properly explain the lump sums, my funds won’t be enough for the two years option of my program at the current exchange rate. So I am thinking of reapplying for one year study permit for the same program instead of two years for the refused application. It is for the same program. My available funds is enough for only one year. Please can that cause a red flag and lead to another refusal?

If the funds are available, pay the balance of annual tuition then do GIC. With this and the funds still there for 3 months now, you should be fine. Don't fail to explain and point the VO attention to the fact the money has been there for the 3 months and you have paid tuition and GIC to demonstrate that the funds are indeed available. Finally,
Thank you. The 16m which was worth around 45k CAD then is now worth around 27k due to current exchange rate and the money won’t be enough to complete tuition payment and do GIC at the same time. I am planning of using mpower loan to complete the remaining school fees and then use part of the money to do GIC. I hope that’s reasonable enough.

Another issue of volatile balance and low opening balance. Best bet is to leave the money there for another 2 to 3 months so the opening balance will be significantly higher then explain in next application the same explanation for the lump sums. The high opening balance in next application will demonstrate that the funds there are not for demonstrative purposes
Thank you. The last lump sum apart from my monthly salary entered the account at 27/04/2023 as mentioned and the money has been there till date which is now three months. What if i wait for another one month making it a total of 4 months, wont that be enough?

Gentlesoul3268:

VO noted that you explained the lump sum you proceeds from gratuitity payment from your employer, crypto ,assets sales, investment and land sales but lack of proof to back it up with documents.

I will suggest you pay part of your tuition fees out of these funds because VO mentioned that the significant change in your bank balance from 2 months was inflated for visa application purpose, so to proof that the money is available for you to spend I will suggest you pay part of your tuition fees and explaining more better the source of these funds and back it with documents.

You can ask your employer to write a letter to back it up that the money given to you is to support your academy pursuit

Thank you. I explained all those with documents. The funds from my employer was a one time bonus with narration and company name and I included an email notification to all staff about the payment. Other funds from my company were my monthly salary and I added payslips and all employment documents. The VO didnt believe. I also paid 6K CAD tuition deposit enough for one semester already and he didnt mention that. I am thinking whether to pay more fees or do GIC?

Well, this is self explanatory. Back up the 4.4M and 10m with prove…
They were explained with documents attached. The VO did not believe. If I am to reapply and explain those funds, its still with the documents I attached earlier.

Please I need help on how to tackle this issues noted by the VO on my reapplication.

You obviously refused driving your car to the station saying over your dead body, that car will never get to that station which is why you activated the car security system and handed the keys to them. the police however proved you wrong. We are Nigerians and we know our system, you could have saved yourself cost, energy, time etc at the scene but you choosed to get into a looooong heated altercation and that is the result. who knows whether you didn't even slap one of the policemen, because you won't tell us that one. this is what so many people here won't tell you but it's the bitter truth, they will keep consoling you, saying the policemen will be brought to book. hahaha that book for don full since!
I just read this trash you wrote. How can you be this unreasonable? I am a gentleman that hates altercation and arguments. I tried my best in explaining to those police guys but they were filled with greed. My money is back in full. They ended up wasting my time and thiers.

someone advised you to go after them on social media, when the matter was still hot, but you refuse. now you're calling them out after giving bribe intentionally. now that your car is no longer in their station, what evidence do you have against them. they can deny ever arresting you.
I had them on tape demanding for the money and confirming the one they collected earlier. If I was as wicked as they are and want them to be punished severely, I could use the tape as an evidence. I am not wicked and heartless and won't allow anybody's behaviour to me no matter how bad to turn me to one.

The Twitter thread I created and tagged police complaint response unit and your tweets and retweets drew their attention. They called the DPO from Abuja and sent me his number to speak with him. The DPO invited me to his office with the squad members present where my money was refunded.
Through out the process, the case officer assigned to my case was very professional and empathetic. He called me severally and made sure that my money was refunded.

You are taking being extorted with kids glove over nothing, well you among those making NPF rich in Aba,you are not acting like Nwaba, they saw you were docile and capitalised on it to finish you,you were detained and your vehicle detained, you are lucky every one in the vehicle were not detained.
How on earth, your dad wouldn't have given them a dime, your dad would have escalated immediately to the appropriate quarters, bring in a lawyer with petition, you will see how you will be asked to carry your wahala and go.
Sorry shaa for the hard time, life in Aba is quite frustrating.
Having parted with money twice means there are other things we do not know.
There is nothing more to it. I just wanted to remove my car from their premises before the fight starts. They can be wicked to destroy the car.

I just made a formal complaint to police complaint unit of force headquarters. That's the first level of my fight. If they didn't do anything reasonable I will escalate it. Suggestions are also welcomed.

Let me assume you gave them all of the money in cash. So now it's your word against theirs.
I gave them the money in cash but have them admit receiving it in a recorded audio. That will be my evidence.

Peaceful options with animals in human skin? After they held you at gunpoint, abducted you and your brother, commandeered your car, stripped you down to your underwear and held you prisoner? Your father had to pay a ransom for your life, in case you forget. And all for what? You are indeed naive if you believe they didn't know your plates are genuine. Please let them have their day in (public) court. If not for yourself, do it for the next man they will so savage.
They collected another twenty one thousand naira to release the vehicle today. In total, fifty one thousand five hundred naira was extorted from us. I need justice...

You are just being gentle with them and putting yourself at the mercy of the DPO/whoever is in charge.

Go on Twitter, create a tread, tagg Police CRU unit, Segalink, ACP Isiaku, you can also call +2348057000003 (NPF control room Abuja). You will get your money back with an apology.
I like exhausting all peaceful options before hitting hard. That is part of my options.

Thank you all for your responses. I am now sure that my plate number is not fake. I am at the police station waiting for the arrival of the IPO and DPO. A police man that was part of the squad that I spoke to still maintain that the plate number is fake since it is not on FRSC database. To them that is the only database they know. He also said that if they release the car, it may not be with the plate number since it is 'fake'. The DPO will have the final say when he arrives. After then I will know what to do.

Car Talk / I was Locked up, Extorted And Harrassed By Police In Aba Over Lagos Number Plate by Ikpumbe1: 4:08am On Dec 30, 2020
On 29/12/2020 in Aba, I was stopped by a group of police men while driving myself and family members on my 2005 honda accord. The police men wore just police camouflage polos with no displayed Identity card, name tag or force number and were carrying AK-47 rifles. I was driving my 2005 honda accord car with Lagos registration number.

Inside the car were my two younger brothers, my younger sister, my wife and my one year old baby. The police men requested for my vehicle papers and driver's license which I handed over to them. They said that my license registration number is fake. They showed me an FRSC web page where they ran my plate number and it displayed "Invalid".

I explained to them that the number was duly registered in Lagos and that the plate number was gotten via legal channels and there is no way it can be fake. They wouldn't hear of that. I demanded that they allow me call who registered the vehicle for me which I did. The agent that registered the vehicle for me is a colleague of mine in the office that has connection with FRSC.

He explained to me that Lagos is the only state that produces their plate number themselves and that sometimes they don't upload it on FRSC database. So, that the number doesn't show on FRSC database doesn't mean that it's fake. He gave me Lagos autoreg verification website(verify.autoreg.ng) to give the policemen to verify the plate number . I personally verified my number on the autoreg website and it showed valid. I tried explaining these to the policemen but they wouldn't hear the explanation.

They collected the car keys from me to drive the car to their station but couldn't start the car after several attempts. They ordered I and my younger brother into their miniature mitsubishi bus and took us to their station. They later took my brother back to the car location and towed the vehicle to their station.

They told me to UnCloth to my boxer shorts and detained me inside their cell(the condition of the cell is story for another day). I was detained for approximately 6hours till my dad came and they collected thirty thousand naira from him before releasing me. The DPO ordered for my release after my father intervened and is most likely aware of the thirty thousand that was paid before I was released.

He(DPO) said my vehicle should not be released till they conclude investigation on the license plate issue. They defrauded 30k from my father to effect my release when I committed no crime. My vehicle was duly registered in Lagos which can be verified on autoreg website. They detained me for no just cause for 6hours in a filthy cell that is not fit for lower animals let alone a human being. They refused to release my vehicle till this moment thereby causing a lot of hardship to my family for someone that visited home for Xmas.

I have resolved to fight the humiliation I am suffering in their hands with everything I have got. I just want to be sure that what my agent told me is the truth. Is a plate showing on autoreg but not on FRSC database fake? How can I prove that my plate number is authentic?
Please gurus should respond.
