I have 2 questions:

1. What happens if a person travels to the United States on a B1/B2 visa with an honest intention of only visiting. However, on the said visit, he gets offered a job. Does he return to apply for a different category of visa or is it possible that he extends his stay whilst in the country on the premise of the job offer?

2. Is the social security number permanent or temporary for a person who got it in the United States while on a J1 visiting status and returned to his country of residence? I just seek the clarification because in certain countries in Europe, that number is assigned to you for life.
