Plz I have a question to ask those that has been in Germany. And Plz don't get angry in case If such question has been answered.
My question is since accommodation has been the major challenge in Germany can't we solve it by allowing two Pple pay for one room at least it will be lesser, or is dat not acceptable in Germany?

No that does not happened here. Sharing one room with 2 people is seen as a breach of your accommodation contract cos you have signed that only you will live the one room so anything other than that is not fair especially if the landlord gets to find out. You wont even be comfortable squating somebody else cos your neighbors might know and report you especially if it's a hostel or private house.

I will advise you look for flat of around 500-650 and share it but not one small room which is not even enough for one person. Accommodation is actually one of the things we spend on here. Beside you need your own housing contract to register your address with foreigners office and how will you have that document when you are squatting?. I will advise you prepare financially to cover the cost of housing before coming. security deposits can also be charged before you get housing here.

if one gives birth in Germany, the baby will become German citizen and this will make the parents have automatic permernent resisdence to stay back in Germany and look after the child who is their citizen. Inshort that is what mosy naija are doing now to get papper.

yes VAC will work tomorro and after the Christmas holiday cos they have Nigerian staff alot who will handle and accept applications. CDHC main decision takers has all travelled for the holiday so no serious business till around early Januar but they still have receptionist open to accept more application from VAC till the main ogas come back to process them. So the way things are now, i think those who have not heard from cdhc should be patient till they resume by January cos most of them have their family in canada to spend time with. Those who has not done medicals, get ready to defer your admission cos time no dey again as cdhc habbit is asking for new start date every january base on old thread. For those waiting for TRV, be ready to receive it as ur new year gift.

no directl flight to Toronto or any part of canada. Chaep airlines i know are Turkish airline 203k and Ethiopia airline 201k they are the cheapest sofar to toronto. Visit their office at the airport and book or book online.

khunlehzy: No the embassy does not charge anything its absolutely free. How every the bank will remove 50EURO as service fee after you have made all you deposite n arive in Germany. U can go anyday monday to friday btw 7am n 12noon. But I suggest u go January cos it appears the embassy is on vacation.

You are right. Jobs are easier to find in the south/western part of Germany than the Easter or northern part. Also English is widely spoken in the south/west region.

if you ask me, i will advise u defer ur admission if u have not done medicals cos medicals alone take one month (3-4) weeks to process cos they send the result to france for final report and unb always take time to defer admission.
But my prayer for u is that embassy will not ask u to bring new start date so that u can join January set. But it is better to have plan B.

omosanyaolak: On monday my application will be 20 weeks old at the canadian embassy. I will have to write them on monday to return my documents to me. The waiting is a complete rubbish, 5 solid months to process a visa? I cant just believe it. Everything stood still for the past few weeks. Got some chances but couldnt take them because all my documents are with the embassy. It is a shame!

na till January 7th them dey resume after closing today. Most of them go fly go Canada to spend time with their family. Forget that 25 & 26 things.

@All, pls does any one know apart from int'l passport any other means of id card the german embassy will accept for opening of acccount? My intl passport is not ready now. Still in abuja.

I saw ur post on study in Germany and u listed many English free south-west University so I wonder up till now why u never still apply. Pls take a step and apply to many institution so that u will get admission even if it is one school.

@surecan I applied directly to the schools but found those schools thru daad.de but I avoided those one that needed me to apply thru uni-assist cos time no dey for their wahala so I just applied directly.

does anyone know the procedure for change of surname in passport? For one who has done passport with his grand fathers surname but now wants to change it to his father's name. Pls what is the procedure if you have idea?

We hope to see calls for medical or further instruction to day else everybody should prepare a new start date. And the worst thing be say if embassy request new start date, they request for new/updated bank statement. God go punish devil. Just immagine say your sponsor don chop the money.... like me I no fit put all my eggs for Canada oohhh. Them dey mis-behave for that CDHC cos nobody dey querry them...

good write up. @all the Embassy has been very busy processing visiting visas for those who are going there for Xmas cos this is their season for visit visa applications.
I feel they will attend to students this week if they have the chance.
