Government officials must be held accountable by all. If not, we may wake up one day and realise that Nigeria has been sold to Jack Ma. Afterwards, everyone will be directed to start working in agbado plantations. |
zero8zero:While the SE region has its flaws, electing certificate forgers and fraudsters is a common trend in the SW region. We have seen obas accused of fràu..d and some even jàiled. Some of the most influential SW political leaders were people who pushed dr...ugs outside Nigeria. Yes, such characters contest elections in the SE, but for sure nobody votes for them...unlike the SW folks who brag so much about respecting their elders but still beat up their kings. |
Actually, there's nothing special about IGR. It means that a state is taxing their people higher than others. I don't know why you are comparing Enugu to other regions. Are you celebrating Enugu State govenor for taxing his people more? |
Professor Nnenna Oti is the current Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Owerri. During the 2023 Abia State gubernatorial election, she was appointed the returning officer. At the time, the PDP was in charge of the state with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as the outgoing governor. The current governor of Abia State, Governor Alex Otti, was running on a Labour Party that was not as strong as APC and PDP in the state. When the major parties have lost the election, calls of threats and bribes started coming through Professor Oti's phone to announce a different result. However, amid all these calls, she fiercely stood her ground and did the right thing. Today, Governor Alex Otti is the Governor of Abia State. In my opinion, people like Professor Oti should hold key positions in this country if we truly want to build a better country because they are in short suuply. Now that Professor Mahmood Yakubu is about leaving INEC, Professor Nnenna Oti is the right fit to santize our INEC. If President Tinubu appoints her, she will fix the institution and deliver the most credible election in the history of Nigeria. This man is a typical example of an ant thinking himself as an elephant |
seunmsg:Please only make statements you are sure you can defend in court with your evidence. Secondly, who pays Helinues (or whatever his name is) his monthly stipends? I thought he was psychologically strong enough to withstand opposition? Why is he blocking everyone? ![]() |
helinues:Is that why all Amaechi's laptop pals are claiming to come from Lagos while they allow brown roofs to overrun their home states? |
Thank you, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and First Bank, for pulling this off. Lagos State is truly a pacesetter. Coming to my observation: Lagos is sooo powerful and rich that companies and banks only sponsor Lagos events, forgetting that Nigeria has other 35 states and a federal territory. |
I liked this girl when she was doing that robot thingy - it was an idea I totally liked. But it seems the only content she knows how to create now is following a younger uneducated rascal for a reason best known to her. |
Women should focus more on building themselves, not obsessive with their looks. The world wants people who will add value to it, not beautiful faces and bodies with empty skulls. |
The people didn't walk out of existence. They relocated to Lagos to start claiming to be Lagosians. |
helinues:From Ronaldo to Messi to Ronaldinho, what inspired many of the best footballers in the world to become extremely good at their craft is that they want to escape poverty. To achieve that, they sacrificed pleasures and personal time, and they subjected themselves to rigourous training. But when you come from a country where the government practically pays everyone salaries and buys you a house like it's done in Qatar (thanks to too much money from oil and gas sales), why would you deny yourself all these things to be outstanding at sports? Why is common sense a scarce commodity on this forum? |
One guy commented on Facebook that he wished he was there so he could squeeze her boooooooobs. I don't understand why people comment on social media like people who have no upbringing |
Hi Nairalanders, Hope your day was great. I applied for an NGO job called Lafiya, and we were subjected to an online test during the application. After this first test, we would do another test before the final interview. However, we had a webinar and the team promised to get back to us 2 weeks after the deadline which was on 17th July, 2025. They also promised to give feedback to everyone who applied. It's been over 3 weeks now, and we haven't heard anything from them. What makes this job interesting is that its pay packages are so handsome, and you get to travel round the world. So, I am asking: Did you apply for Monitoring and Evaluation Fellow at Lafiya? If so, have you received any feedback from them? |
franchasng:With or without diplomatic cover, Tinubu got his lawyers to reach a plea bargain deal with the US authorities. That alone makes his a free man. That's why the FBI refused to release his criminal records. |
maxiuc:Oga, no be so! If a man impregnates a lady, he should take responsibility. You cannot enjoy with a woman behind closed doors and deny the product of your enjoyment in the open. |
Chief Priest is the father of this lady's son. Denying her iis the height of irresponsibility. If not, why is he running away from DNA test? |
helinues:Nobody can ban AI anywhere in the world. Saying that AI will be banned is same as saying that computers and smartphones will be banned because yahoo boys are using them to scam people. AI is a broad concept that offers more benefits than harms. The SGF is complaining about the abuse of AI called deepfake. The only way to stop it is to regulate AI use, with harsh penalties for deepfakes. |
So I have been thinking lately. Getting jobs has become extremely difficult in Nigeria these days, especially if you have no connection. In a bid to grab the attention of the employer or HR manager, you take your time to create a compelling CV and mind-blowing cover letter. If you genuinely want to get the attention of good companies, you know that one CV or cover letter template can't serve many companies. You take your time and energy to perfect your CV and cover letter to suit the JD. Yet, the recruiter doesn't even bother getting back to you. It's even better to receive a regret email so you can move on but after applying for the job, they don't even tell you whether you are qualified to proceed to the next stage or not. You are just ghosted. Surprisingly, big organisations like OPEC, MTN,NGOs. etc even do that. So, if you have worked as HR personnel, I want to understand the reason why companies don't bother getting back to applicants after the first application. Even if the applications were many, you can extract the email addresses and send one regret email to all. |
Tenrack:Thank you, everyone, for all your words of encouragement. Well, I saw the job on Hot Nigerian Jobs. The truth is that there are many foreign jobs for Nigerians posted on that site and My Job Mag too. While awaiting their feedback, I also applied for one - Lafiya. The salary for the first 6 months is $1500. After the 6 months, you get a significant pay rise. The application came with a virtual test too. I'm waiting for their feedback too. |
AngelSlay:Thank you so much for this advice 👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏It really means a lot to me. Honestly, I have been praying for positive feedback, but no feedback yet. |
Good evening, Nairalanders. Hope your day is going well. I applied for a job with a Canadian company and received a link to my email where I was asked to do their virtual multiple-choice quiz of 40 questions in 30 minutes. When it comes to such tests, I am always good at them because I am a versatile reader. After the test, I got feedback from them that I was successful and that I was among the top 1% in the test. Afterwards, I was asked to select a date for my virtual interview. I had the interview and I believe I did well. The HR told me she would get back to me within 1 - 2 weeks. However, it's been 3 weeks now and I sent them an email to ask for an update but they didn't reply to my email. Please if you were in my shoes, what would you do? I am creating this post because it's a foreign company and the pay is very juicy. |
emoboy4u:Those jobs you see online are mostly recycled jobs. They keep repeating it until the deadline is exceeded. Afterwards, those websites stop posting them. Besides, you see over 200 people applying for one job within 36 hours. If you doubt me, go on LinkedIn to apply for jobs. You will see that over 100 people apply within 24 hours for just one position. Is that what you call jobs being available? |
Buhari's greatest achievement was borrowing money from China to fix infrastructure. Aside from that, that man had nothing else to offer. It made the country worse than he met it. |
Which unity did Buhari contribute to that I didn't know? The same that watched marauders from his tribe kill Nigerian farmers across all regions and did nothing about it. That man was a disaster |
South West governors need to emulate this man so their people can stop glorifying poverty. Imagine someone thinking that having slums is a good thing because it shows early development. Nawa for some people o |
This man should join politics and contest for elective positions. This country needs honest and intelligent people like him leading the masses. |
