You think the dynamics of 1959 is same with 2016? glad you mentioned some names kindly tell us your Akintola and Awo replica in 2016?
please dont tell me Fayose and Tinubu, from what you said it is clear that quality of leadership made the difference not the type of government.
Do you still have quality leadership in the SW lately? hell no!!
true federalism or not a bad politician is who he is.
Why are you abokkis so dull?
True federalism can make a hitherto bad politician shape up and brace up for the task of governance or get the fccck out.
The current system makes even the well-intentioned politicians lazy, complacent and corrupt.

Many of them wouldnt even be in politics if we ran a true federal system.

If the federalism worked so well why did we demand more states, why did the military strike, why are we rigmaroling 66 years after
The military struck in error and created states by fiat.

We havent had it so good since then.
I cant say the same for Ahmadu Bello and the northerners.

I challenge you to name 3 checks and balances that are not present in our system.

Chairman
A bad workman blames his tools

Don't be a stubborn goat!

It's evident that you struggled to counter my points.

The fact remains that for a culturally and religiously diverse country as ours, true federalism is what we must practice if we must be one country.
It's the reason the colonialists left us with the system when they were leaving.
True federalism has worked before and it will work again.

Any system would have worked for us if we were all one tribe. Unfortunately, we are not and we are too suspicious of each other.
The checks and balances in this system will always be compromised by religion and ethnicity.

Firstly, yes they have been flattened because they are unable to take or hold territory, which is the very definition of an insurgency (invading force).

Secondly, yes it's very possible because while revenue generation might temporarily suffer (as its doing now), the military solution will restore sanity in the region with force even if it means occupation or a declaration of state of emergency. Production levels will eventually be restored.
Have Kareto, Gubio, Damasak and Sambisa forest in the north been completely liberated?

The FG will have to shut down oil production in the Niger Delta totally and ask the IOCs to leave to be able to fight the militants.
From where will FG get the money to then prosecute the war?

My point is that saboteurs will be flattened completely, and production levels will be restored at all costs. The 2 week ceasefire ends on June 20th.

This is while the FG and some state governments are developing other economic potentials like agriculture and solid minerals to create more sustainable and less volatile income sources in the near future.

This government cannot be blackmailed.
Has the govt completely flattened Boko Haram in the NE despite it not having any impact on the economy?

How do you think there will be a military solution to the Niger Delta agitation that directly affects the economy and revenue generation?

Anyone waiting for true federalism in Nigeria will be waiting a long time. It will never happen. The reason is that the North depends heavily on Government revenue. The North will fight vigorously to see that true federalism is not implemented. So where will the 'true federalism' come from? True federalism will mean constitutional change, which will mean debating it at the NASS where the North will vote it out. True federalism will never happen in Nigeria
By the time the country grinds to a halt economically and there is no money to share, the NASS and north will have no choice but to support true federalism.
