Good day Nairalanders, Not all crimes, wrongdoings, illegalities are known and open to our hears or eyes. Some are silent, Just like the case Clients face with developers/programmers.

In recent time, the cases are now increased and beginning to bring out smoke as a result of increasing search for programmers and also the outburst of numerous ponzi schemes in our society today.

Just recently, a message came to my inbox of how a Nigerian was duped by Indian developers, with image evidence of the conversation and transaction.

Note: this is not to slander any company but to warn innocent Nigerians to be careful of these Indian developers and not fall victims of scams.

It goes as follows

"Good day sir, am writing this to you so you can help let Nigerians know about the dubious acts of foreign developers, especially Indians.
I planned on creating a very good and reliable ponzi scheme, where people can have rest of mind and make money. So I googled and saw what looked like a reputation software company specialized in Ponzi and MLM development. They call theirselves MLM developers but are actually scam. They portray themselves as professionals but my brother after you make the initial payment, that's the end oh.

The deal between me and MLM developers was that they will build a Ponzi scheme that looks like GHW with some new features And I will pay them.

The Total fee I was charged was $2000.
I was compelled to pay $750 which I paid using BTC.
I was given a completion date and was already doing pre adverts. Only for the date to reach and I was told it's not ready, I waited 3 more days, same thing. Waited another 1 week, same story. Till today it's still not ready.

The only thing I was shown was a demo app with my domain name on it.

I was highly disappointed, and I told them of their unprofessional attitude. I told them to refund my money but they told me there is no refund policy.
And yet what I paid for is not ready. Till Today, am yet to here anything. I even let them know my church mind, only for me to be blocked on whatsapp were we've been communicating from the beginning.

I know most people will say it's good I was scammed because I was wanted to create a Ponzi scheme but the truth is that I had good intentions in mind, if I had bad intentions I would have just just a quick script.

Just so Nigerians won't fall into their hands again, it may not be ponzi scheme. Maybe something else you wanna do. Just patronize Nigerian programmers.

The rate at which our Nigerian Bank 'legally' steal from us is becoming alarming and unbearable.

In 2013, I opened a savings account with access bank with the sole aim of depositing my little earnings only and not to withdraw, even while as an undergraduate

To my greatest surprise, after 6 months of savings, Access bank debited my account with different so called
Charges and fee. Efforts to see the manager proved abortive. So I told the cashier I want to close my account. I was asked to bring a long list of credentials which was intended to discourage you from closing it.

So I withdrew all my money and planned never using them again.

Fast forward to 2016, in orientation camp, We were 'forced' to open an account with the same bank.

Just like other corps member, we reluctantly registered having no other option. Giving them a 'reluctant benefit of doubt' maybe they have changed.

Alas, they are now even worst.
Charges include From December 2016 - January 2017)

#1. Stamp DUTY - N50 (stamp duty for 2months account without entering bank)

#2.Card Annual Maintenance - N1100 (okay, maybe normal)

#3. Admin Fees - N105 - (monthly )

#4. Card processing fee - N105 (monthly)

#. Exorbitant sms charges.

Etc

When my state allawee is just N895 (instead of 1k, because bank remove their own)

My question is, HOW CAN YOU SAVE IN A SAVINGS ACCOUNT?

I think Banks in Nigeria are the new legal scamming Institution we have!

First of all, I'm sorry you're having a hard time. I should also point out that your issue is unique and in no way a valid pointer at a pattern for bad service delivery. I use smartweb and have almost 10 sites with them and about 40 domains registered under them. Yesterday alone I registered about 5 domains. They are really good. respond in a timely manner and are generally available to help.

Do they ever have issues? Yes

Can they solve most of these issue? Mostly yeah

There are exceptions though. I once had an error 53 on one of my sites and they had issues fixing it. It wasn't a good experience but all in all between us, it was fixed.

I can understand your frustration, especially coming in a new customer but you need to understand that na your fellow brother dey run this package and e dey grow. Coming here to spoil his business is a tad too dramatic. Send him and email and explain why you can't do business with him. I have been using smartweb for up to 3 years now. only one time have i had an issue they couldn't fix. I once had an issue with a site that was hacked. Didn't have a backup. Not only was the issue fixed but smartweb keeps a backup for you without request for cases like this.

Is there room to grow? yes

But please one nasty experience isn't enough for what you have done here. SMART WEB IS A GOOD COMPANY WITH GOOD PEOPLE WHO HONESTLY AIM TO PLEASE.

am currently having challenges with them, my site just went down.. open tickets and called, but all the answers am getting are frustrating
