Seriously APC is not ready for a free and fair Election.

Barely 2 months to election, you make this kind of controversial changes..

Even the Nigerian Police have have removed 14 CP, to be changed soon, just barely 2 months to Election.

But to sign Electoral Amendment bill since last year July na wahala.

Drivers for taxi-sharing app Uber went on strike in Britain on Tuesday, demanding higher fares and improved workers’ rights and urging users not to cross the digital picket line by ordering rides.

Around 50 protesters staged a noisy demonstration outside Uber’s offices in London after a trade union called a 24-hour stoppage starting at 1 pm (1200 GMT).

“Uber, Uber you can’t hide, we can see your dirty side,” the crowd chanted as others blew whistles, someone let off a red smoke bomb and passing cars and cabs tooted their horns in support.

“Uber abuses workers rights, they pay below minimum wage and the drivers are in debt,” Muhamed Ali, a 48-year-old driver, told AFP.

“If you want to make a normal living, you need to at least work 12 hours a day, six or seven days a week.”

He joined Uber about three and a half years ago but said he felt he had no choice: “They have cornered the market. It is very hard to compete with them.”

Another London driver, Mohammad, 41, who did not want to give his surname, had a similar story.

“It used to be better — there were more (pickup) jobs. I used to work around eight hours a day, now it’s 13 or 14 hours to make the same money,” he told AFP.

The Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWBG) called the strike of Uber drivers in London, Birmingham, and Nottingham.

“We ask the public to please support drivers by not crossing the digital picket line by not using the app during strike time,” said James Farrar, chairman of the IWGB’s private hire drivers’ branch.

In a statement, Uber said that in recent months it had introduced sickness, injury, maternity and paternity protections for drivers.

It said a recent study by Oxford University academics found the average London driver earned around £11 (12.55 euros, $14.38) per hour spent logged in to the Uber app, after costs including fuel and Uber’s service fee.

The minimum wage for workers over the age of 25 is £7.38 an hour in Britain, while the London Living Wage, a voluntary standard endorsed by the mayor to reflect the capital’s higher costs, is £10.20.

“We continue to look at ways to help drivers increase their earnings and our door is always open if anyone wants to speak to us about any issues they’re having,” Uber said.

Let the child always breathe in well before saying anything.

And you as the mother have to correct him/her everytime of what is wrong and correct.

Let the child watch baby videos and try to replicate the audio.

Practice makes perfect.

Your child may end up being an orator.

Business"My Experience As A Taxify Driver In Abuja" by infocabal(op): 11:01am On Jun 14, 2018
Good day fellow Nairalanders, This post is not meant to belittle Taxify but to tell you all my personal experience.

Last 2 months I saw an advert on Facebook saying make 90k a week with taxify.. I was wow.. Me that earn less than 100k a month,
An extra source of income would be wonderful. I even have a small Toyota corolla that am maintaining.

I went to taxify office last month May and registered, did my inspection and passed.
Even did the training and passed.
That moment I was activated having fulfilled all requirements.

But Alas, against what I anticipated to get, the following points are bad observance from Taxify Abuja.

1. No compensation for going over 3km to pick up a Rider.
Imagine going from Wuse to Mabushi to pick up a rider? That's close to 4km.
Taxify doesn't give you compensation for the fuel used and it will not be included in the trip.
And the Riders will want you to enter dangerous corners to locate them and still waste time to come out.

2. No punishment for riders canceling Trip.
Several times Riders make request for a ride and I was on my way to pick them only for them to cancel the trip. It's so painful.
Infact, there was a day that I was already there waiting for the rider, even called her, only for me to see that she has stopped the trip. I was so pained and frustrated that day.

3. Nobody to carry back.
Can you imagine carrying a rider from Gwarinpa to Asokoro (29km) and after dropping off the person, no one to carry back.
Infact that day I waited and even increased the perimeter of my driver app range to 8km, yet no one. I had to go back to gwarinpa.
And guess how much the person paid? N1300. That's about the same price a normal taxi man will carry you and without AC.
And am coming back empty handed meaning have lost time, fuel, energy etc.

4. No compensation for Night Drivers.
You know, in Nigeria getting taxis in the night are usually difficult, expensive and risky. That's why most normal taxi men charge high fee at night, cos they don't know if they will even see a return passenger.
But in Taxify, it's not so oh. They charge the same fee at all times.
Infact, just last week. In the night (8:30pm) I took a rider from Wuse to sunnyville estate around lokogoma(26km) the rider paid N1300,
Then before coming out of the gate, I waited for 40mins but no rider to go back. I had to leave empty.
Normal taxi will even charge up to N1500 without AC

5. No compensation for Locating and waiting for riders for long.
Some riders will set wrong pick up location and expect u to magically find them and even when you do, you will spend almost 10mins waiting for them.
There was a lady who requested for a ride and put up a dummy location. Thank God for my little experience of Abuja roads, finally located the place. Only for her for come out, problem, I was waiting and was tempted to cancel the trip. This was in the night around 9pm. She later bounced in and says let's go... Chei..
And Taxify doesn't compensate for all my time waiting. Along with some riders rudeness.
Which normal taxi man will wait for u that long without adding to the transportation fare?

Let me rest my case here, there are many more things Taxify need to correct before they can breakthrough in Abuja.

If not for my Toyota corolla that saves me fuel ehn, I would have been red.
Have currently suspended using Taxify till further notice. I cannot come and be working for another person to chop.

Treat your Drivers well, cos without Drivers, Riders are stucked and Taxify is stacked.

Now I see the reason for their numerous Adverts on Facebook. It's like pouring water inside Basket.

Thanks.

BusinessHow Bank Officials Withdrew My Money Through Swallowed ATM Card by infocabal(op): 8:52am On Jun 06, 2018
Good day my fellow Nairalanders.

I have been hearing of this issue, I didn't believe until it happened to me last week.

I went to withdraw money from Diamond Bank ATM in Gwagwalada, Abuja around 9pm. When it was my turn, I slotted in my ATM card entered my Pin and entered the amount of withdrawal. Only for the Machine to be hang, I was then pressing the red button so it reject my card but alas, it Swallowed my Card.

So disappointed, I told the security man, he said there is nothing can be done, that I should go to my bank which is first Bank to get another ATM card.

I went home that night only for me to be seeing alert of N20,065 four times... And 15,065 once.

And the withdrawal location is in Wuse 2, which is about 50km away from Gwagwalada. My account was emptied and only me know my PIN. Even my wife doesn't know it.

So the next morning I went to first Bank to complain about the matter, and they told me someone withdrew the money in another location. I told them how possible is that? When
1. Am the only one that know my PIN
2. The location of withdrawal is 50mins away and I got alert less than that time.
3. The card was swallowed up by Diamond bank ATM and I still waited for it to come out but it didn't.

Infact, the customer care lady said, 2 other people came to complain about the same incident from the same location where my ATM was swallowed.

I was told to visit Diamond bank or the Police.
Quickly I went to police station to lay my complain.
Only for the DPO to tell me to bring N5, 000 to write letter to the bank.
And I told him, where will i get the money from, when they have withdrew all the money in my account.

To cut the long story short, we are still on the matter, I was even made to know that bank officials connive to criminals to get swallowed atm card and correlating PIN, don't really know how true this is.

It's becoming a rampant case gradually, rhetoric relevant authority should be informed please.
