An Israeli airstrike targeted and destroyed a high-rise building in Gaza City that housed offices of The Associated Press, Aljazeera and other media outlets.

Infoexpert24 reports that this happened hours after another Israeli air raid on a densely populated refugee camp killed at least 10 Palestinians from an extended family, mostly children, on Saturday.

The strike on the high-rise came nearly an hour after the military ordered people to evacuate the 12-story building, which also housed Al-Jazeera, other offices and residential apartments.

The strike brought down the entire structure, which collapsed in a gigantic cloud of dust. There was no immediate explanation for why it was attacked.

The earlier Israeli airstrike on the Gaza City refugee camp was the deadliest single strike of the current conflict between Israel and the militant group Hamas. Both sides are pressing for an advantage as cease-fire efforts gather strength.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has debunked the allegations that the IPOB is plotting an attack in Lagos State.

Earlier today, there was reports that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, claimed that the state Police Command is investigating IPOB, Oodua Republic and other groups over a plot to attack soft targets in the state.

According to Odumosu, 24 of such groups have been identified and they are being closely monitored.

He assured that the security services in the state have all of them on their radar.

A doctor in Korle Bu, Ghana has allegedly poisoned colleague’s water with infected Hiv Blood.

Graphic Online reported that the doctors involved work at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), and the act is suspected to have been carried out following a disagreement between the two while on duty.

A complaint was filed at Korle Bu District Police Command at about 11.30 am on May 6, 2021, by a medical doctor accompanied by the lawyer of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) Mr Kwame Gyamfi, regarding the allegation of water-poisioning.

The medical doctor told the police that he was on a 24-hour duty with six other doctors at the Labour Ward One of the hospital.

Shehu Sani, former senator representing Kaduna central, says the Igbo have been systematically marginalised since the civil war.

Infoexpert24 reports that Sani made the submission in Kaduna at a meeting organised by the Association of Eze-Ndigbo in Diaspora on Saturday, He described the marginalisation as a “collective punishment”.

The civil war took place between 1967 and 1970.

The former senator said the injustice faced by the Igbo affects them in terms of how they are represented in politics.

He added that the marginalisation has affected the political fortunes of the region but the Igbos have proven to be dependable and patriotic.

He described the marginalisation as a “collective punishment” from Nigerians.

“There has been a systemic exclusion and marginalisation of your people, stemming from the historical Biafra war — this is a collective punishment,” he said.

Sani recalled that prior to the civil war, a Fulani man, Faruq Altine was elected a mayor in the south-east.

“That act alone (appointment of a Fulani man as mayor) sends a message to Nigeria that whatever happens subsequently is not the fault of Igbos,” he said.

“Today, Igbos are being seen as unNigerian, unpatriotic, forgetting the feat Altine achieved in the region.

“Most of those who want to divide this country aren’t picking their reasons from the sky. They are building their reasons on injustice and inequity meted to them. The only way to defeat a secessionist who doesn’t believe in one Nigeria is by giving justice to them.

Stray bullet has killed a young beautiful lady in in Orlu town, Imo State.

According to a post by a man identified as Jones Fcc Onwuasonya on facebook, late mrs Glory Nkwocha was at her house with her family on Thursday, May 6, when a stray bullet from a gun duel between combined security operatives and hoodlums hit her.

She was immediately rushed to the Intensive care unit of the Federal Medical Center, Owerri, where she later died on Friday, May 7.

Pastor Dare Adeboye, the son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide, Enoch Adeboye, is dead.

Infoexpert24 understands that the 42-year-old, who was the third surviving child of the revered cleric, died in his sleep on Wednesday in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based with his family.

The Catholic Diocese of Enugu has suspended Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka.

Mbaka was suspewnded from church activities for one month as the controversial priest's political escapades continue to overshadow his theological obligations on a scale that nurtures unending concerns amongst his senior clerics.

Mbaka was asked to proceed on suspension with effect from May 3 after being summoned by Callistus Valentine Onaga, the diocesan bishop.

Onaga called Mbaka in following his repeated clashes with President Muhammadu Buhari and warned that his conduct was smearing the church's image, the largest of any Christian organisation worldwide, church officials familiar with the matter told The Gazette.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday announced the date for the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Chairman of the commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu made the announcement at a one-day public hearing on the National Electoral Offences Commission (Establishment) Bill 2021, organized by the Senate Committee on INEC.

Mahmood Yakubu said the general elections are one year, nine months, two weeks and six days or 660 days from the date of the announcement, hence the need for preparation.
