Education / Re: ASUU Strike: Yar’adua Seeks Oshiomhole’s Intervention by iniguy(m): 3:41pm On Sep 23, 2009
This strike should continue untill all the issues are firmly ironed out and resolved, i will be disappointed in ASUU if they suspend the strike at this point, sadly that is the price that this generation of Nigerian students must pay for things to function optimally. The federal government is simply insincere.

@iniguy

Whst criminal record?.  Do you have any detailed evidence?.  Can you be specific.

For yor info.  Thed man was wrongfully detained for three years, which goes to show the degree of lawlessness in this country.

In other countries police can only legally detain you for 24hrs ,during which they have to decide to charge you or not (Except in the case of terrorist suspects, who can be held for up to 30days or more).

Mohammed was held for 3yrs, and the charges were dropped.

That doesnt give him a criminal record.

So tell me , if we both fight in a mall, and get arrested by the police for being public nuisances, get to the poilce station and then get a caution from the poilce.

Does that give us a criminal record?. No it doesnt.

I get your point, but the family came to an agreement with the federal government in which they were to return the stolen funds while the federal govt stayed off the prosecution of Mohammed Abacha, that's why the charges were dropped.

How the heck is he a democrat,  ALL DEVILS IN NIGERIAN ARE OF PDP. No republican or democrat.

He doesn't done anything thus far to warrant anyone's vote.

What i meant was, whether he has democratic views or he is authoritarian like his late father, and the answer is pretty obvious, He is an authoritarian elite!
Politics / Re: Abacha's Son 'to Enter Politics' by iniguy(m): 1:58pm On Sep 23, 2009
In civilized climes, this man would not even think of contesting for a ward election, talkless of a Gubernatorial election. For crying out loud, he has a criminal record!!

This guy and his father are two totally  different individuals.

Nigerians have a wrong mentality of "Like father like son", or "Like brother, like brother"

Every human being is unique in their own way,  Every human being is entitled to a choice of what religion, profession, sexuality,career  or anything else.
Yes Sani Abacha is his biological father, we cant change that.     But he clearly doesnt condone any atrocities his father commited, Hence I really dont think we should condemn him.

@Ibime.

He has no criminal record.

He was charged for embezzlement and murder. Was wrongfully detained for three years, and then cleared of all charges by the supreme court.

Just because someone was in detention or arrested doesnt make him a criminal. That's totally wrong thinking.

You seem to know him too well, so is he a democrat?, what is his political philosophy?

Politics / Re: Yar'adua Will Not Attend Un General Assembly by iniguy(m): 9:57am On Sep 21, 2009
Another important official engagement missed due to declining health, may God help Prsdnt Yaradua, so off we go to Saudi Arabia but wait, won't the Saudi monarch be attending the Un meeting? . . . .but must we continue like this? must we wait until mr president drops dead before we know that all is not well with him? For crying out loud Nigeria is over 140 million in population! we've got qualified, healthier & more capable hands capable of performing the duties of mr President, sadly the Nigerian system won't allow these ones stand out, continued absence from foreign engagements like the Un general meeting only means loss of prestige and bargaining power in the comity of nations.
