Please do you know any scholarship for education course
darellrivers:

I know a bit about the commonwealth scholarship as I was a Commonwealth Professional Fellow (scholars are sponsored to school, Fellows are sponsored to work in the UK). The scholarship is open to those who had first class or second class upper and takes care of everything (Fees AND living expenses). There are different scholarships but the most common ones are
- Scholarships for Master’s and PhD study at UK universities (this is the one where you have to be nominated by the Nigerian Government- it is the one that ministry of education advertises http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/scholarships-developing-cw/)

-Shared Scholarships for Master’s study at selected UK universities (here the commonwealth scholarship commission AND specific UK universities SHARE the funding. This has nothing to do with the Nigerian Government). This is however, restricted to certain courses in certain universities- you can check the prospectus http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/prospectus-shared-scholarships-2014.pdf
search for the course you are interested in doing, the university that offers scholarship for your course, go to the school's website and find out criteria for the shared scholarship.

e.g. The University of Strathclyde in Scotland is one of the schools in the shared scholarship scheme (see the prospectus link above) and they offer the scholarship for the following courses
• Advanced Computer Science
• Applied Economics
• Advanced Mechanical Engineering
• Electronic and Electrical Engineering
• Environmental Engineering
• Finance
• Forensic Science
• International Law and Sustainable Development
• Internet Law and Policy
• Pharmaceutical Analysis

If you are interested in one of these courses, all you need to do is go to strathclyde's website, find out what their criteria is and apply.

So make good use of the internet smiley and for more information, go to http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/

It is a great scholarship- I thoroughly enjoyed my Fellowship Programme

Hope this was helpful

Dear house. Good evening all .Pls i need clarifications on the following
1. The adverts on that usually comes with salary are the real ?
2. Must it be suit for interview? Can a lady go on suit skirt and shirt or corporate gown. I dont feel comfortable on suit. It tends to choke me up?
3. Since teaching in International /top schools requires some prof certification which is only offered by them, how can i get to work in such schools as a b.ed social studies graduate who is registered with TRCN? And secondly which of the certification best suits my education qualification between CIE,IELT,IGCSE , TOEFL or any other not mentioned.
4. So far i havnt been called by any school. I have 10 job briefing invitation and based on referral messages on my phone from anonymous companies i never applied to.
5.please proprietors to schools that have accommodation in the house i have a B.ed (social studies, second class upper) with one year experience. I am in dire need of teaching job. Thanks in anticipation
At this juncture, i would like to use this opportunity to say thank you to all members and contributors of this thread. Especially Golden Dr, artistically, manie etc

*Thank me later* I recommend every teacher on this thread to see this movie:Like Stars On Earth. Proprietors please u can also give it to any teacher u recruit. Its about a teacher and a boy with learning disabilities. Teaching should be about the passion and ability to put smiles on someones face cause that is where and when the satisfaction comes in. My prayer is that every reader of this will be granted the patience of a saint, the grace not to give up on any child and the conscience to see and treat every child like ours. In Jesus name . Amen

Always pray for and with your students. Dont use derogatory words on a child eg iti bolibo, ode, onuku ,good for nothing, correct with love. Remove communication barriers by making the class democratic and make them your friend.

Finally there are three profession i believe that deals with conscience and ability to satisfy humanity. teaching, medicine, lawyers. As a teacher please teach and do not cheat, impact and inculcate without reservations and the good lord will see u through

I stay in onitsha anambra state. Teaching there is suicidal as they pay 7 to 10 k. I wont even wish my enemy that, that is why i am willing to relocate else where that pays well
