Wretch32:
The Indians someone talked about in my quote above, they are resourceful because they network and work together, same thing other Asians
But Nigerians?? Nahh our case is different

I’ve decided to rest my case and take the advice of others here... it will remain a dream and tbh I can do just fine on my own

However, as soon as I’m settled in school I will like to change the trend and mentor two people from this thread (intending applicants)

In 2017 I messaged lagosiamyhome by sending her a direct message through this platform
Told her my study plans, Infact I was already expecting I-20 from the school then
We exchanged a few emails that would swing my decision eventually and today I’ve reaped the rewards . She may not remember but I’m eternally grateful for the impact those 2 back and forth emails we sent each other has on me today
I turned down my admission and went back to dig deep and prepare better

That person I was in 2017 could be anybody here right now reading this!!
I want to be part of a success story and I want to mentor someone as much as I’m needed

This is a challenge to the rest of you? How many have you mentored and how many are you willing to mentor, it’s not easy to come here and scrutinize transcript true and that itself is a selfless service but for those who are capable, don’t shy from mentoring others not just academically but career wise
Like a wise man once said “ a little empathy goes a long way”
Let’s try to make the our worlds a better place by helping each other and guiding each other rightly and selflessly

I rest my case...
-
This is what i also have in mind, I was still thinking I will throw the suggestion outside once I got my visa too, it is so disheartening to hear how people feel about it due to past experience.

It is my believe that the Asians were able to turn their economy’s around due to the fact that they never forgot where they came from nor the importance of “community” and “our own type”. I understand that Nigeria is rotten and most claimed beyond control but again I believe with collective efforts we could change the narrative.

If what we all profess in our transcripts are right that means in the newest years we will be having a group of intellectuals who are more than enough to start the change, if you belong to the class of people who think it’s only the governments/politicians that failed Nigeria today I tell you,you failed her too.We can do these really we just have to stop Being self centered.
We might have the resources to process admission and get away but always think of your “brothers” and “sisters” that just want to get by another day hawking meager in traffic.

@poster I am interested in any feasible and productive ideas and connections with my kins!

Lagosismyhome thank for staying around.
Shawarma do not be annoyed, it’s all about women supporting women. I respect you two.

You’re all over the place. Good luck with further visa restrictions on the rest of you.

The number rule for most Nigerians here - avoid other Nigerians.
. And you are not? Why wish anyone luck, I thought it was just conjecture of our poverty ridden minds!
Anyways you need it more,so back to the sender.

What is unethical is exploring the idea of dishonestly circumventing rules and procedure solely to your own benefit. It appears you have no idea what the term means.

I don’t think any rational human buys the over-worn idea that people are ignorant. There is no ignorance to willfully trying to bend the rules. You don’t need a billboard to tell you it is wrong to attempt to use another email account to get around not being able to obtain an interview date... and I’m sorry, I have zero patience for people like you who drone on about being “holier-than-thou”.

Why are you all dying to go to school in the US? Because it is an ordered society where people (allegedly holier than thous) follow rules.

Why can’t you go to a school in Nigeria? Because it is filled with people’s le who think rules are meant for others.
Well I am not sorry I also have ZERO tolerance for people like you. What is so ‘unethical’ is the fact that you allegedly live in a country of righteousness/trustworthy people but you haven’t been able to let go of all the bitterness and suspicion in you even after all these years!Am so sorry that the type of people you have been opportuned to come across are all crooked but that says alot for you cause birds of the same feathers flock together! Stop been bitter America was never created because of YOU, many will continue coming down even after you pass.

I just did a background check on her and I guess she just joined nairaland today, probably she has no idea on how the email works...
. Exactly my point! The way people jump to conclusions on this thread is unethical, not everyone is an inherent liar, most don’t truly know somethings and incase we are getting it mixed up,thats the exact reason this thread is made,to ask questions and clarification not for some holier than thou to start labeling everyone!
P.S I know my father and my lovely father Knows me!

Lolz. My dear he was on a 3-piece suit o. She asked him like 3 times to tell her why he wanted to study that course (Accounting), and what it would do for him. He kept on saying that he has a passion for teaching and so on.

Pls check through my transcript for my COA as well as the funding I have. I definitely can't be the first she approved cos I was for 7 a.m., and many where there for 6.30 & 6.45 a.m.
Congratulations! Please can i private msg u, I would like to ask questions relating to the ds 160. Thanks in advance.
