G3 Games Developer Group is a monthly meetup for players in the local games space to foster conversations related to mobile games development in Nigeria, Africa's largest economy. This event, (the second in the series) is designed for programmers, publishers, designers/illustrators, indie developers, storytellers, sound engineers and everyone else who is involved in the process of bringing a game to life. The event for May promises to be a better spetacle and experience than the previous month, and our planned activities include New product showcase (Show and tell) Play and win Gaming challenge Video learning Networking Free drinks Discussion The Theme for this month's meetup is "Analytics & Monetization" where we will look at the numbers and explore recent data as concerns the Gaming industry and many more. The aim is to get behind mere numbers and understand what they say and mean, and the implications for local game developers moving forward. This monthly meetup creates a community that promotes indigenous games and fosters interactions between players in the local gaming industry, while serving as an avenue for them to catch up. it's something i've always always wondered - why are our Nigerian game companies and publishers not popular, and their games not played as their foreign counterparts? What are the reasons? |
Was Okocha great? Yes, and No. In the Nigerian/African context, YES. In the world context, I doubt it. Greatest is not measured by the name of your club, or its achievement, but by what you're able to make out of every game. Maradona at his best played for which club again? So, you'll say he's not great because he never played much for a big club? |
