@ inspired_m special security feature(s) are not required in license plates. From what I have read, the main aim is to have the new numbers registered to a person and a car (as is obtained in other climes) instead of just to a car. That way, if one wishes to sell his car, he has to de-register the number while the new owner would have to register the vehicle anew with his name and a different license plate. We've had cases where people commit crimes with their cars and are untraceable. That in my opinion would be minimized with this new system

Believe me, it would cost more to implement what you are suggesting. Besides, how do you "force" people to go for the update? How long did it take to have people go register their SIM cards? Even so, weren't people crying foul and our senators and reps calling for the registration to be suspended, just like they are doing now?

The approach the government took on this particular policy is the best. To gradually phase out the old license plate (not that there's anything wrong with it) in order to capture the people accordingly in the new system (which is the sole aim of the new license plate)

I called one guy that has been handling my vehicles' registration over the years yesterday he told me that it would cost me N35,000 but that i should wait till say next week when the initial rush would have fizzle out he said that the price will surely go down a bit. Very hiosnest guy.

A Couple of weeks ago You Sold a 2008 Honda Accord LX.

It may interest you to Know that Before the Buyer ( eo2002 ) Left Port Harcourt for Lagos, He called and told me of his Intentions to Buy Your Car and asked for my Honest Opinion about the Price and Source of the Car etc.

Again When he got to Berger Lagos, Where the Car was Located, He called me again and asked if the Price was Right. and What My Final Opinion Was to Inform his Decision.

Even though I havent seen/inspected the Car, Neither have I met The Guy Physically, I advised Him If its Coming from BIZBOOKS, He Should GO ahead and Purchase.
