Workings ;

Maximum amount of apples 3000.

- Since my truck could carry 1000 apples at a time, that means 3 trips would be required equalling 333 miles (1000/3) remaining 1 apple

- Thus, I'm left with 2001 apples to carry meaning 2001/3 and that gives 667 miles

- Next, I make two trips of 1000 apples, meaning (1000/2) giving 500 miles

- I'm left with 1000 apples to transport and 167 (667 - 500) miles
N.B; I'm to leave one apple behind as tax
payment

- Lastly I travel the last 167 miles with 1000 apples and I'm left with 833 apples in Badore

You pay 1 apple for one mile
You travel 1000 miles
So for every miles you pay 1 apple.
1000miles get you into destination
So you give out 999miles before getting to Destination
So you have only one apple left on getting to Destination.
