300 Masters Swedish Institute Scholarships 2020/21

The Swedish Institute is offering over 300 Masters degree scholarships for international students for academic year 2020/21. The Swedish Institute will cover; full tuition fees, monthly living stipend, travel and health insurance coverage.

ABOUT THE SWEDISH INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIPS:
The Swedish Institute through the newly launched the Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP) is offering 300 master degree scholarships for Internationals students.

The Swedish Institute scholarships are awarded by the Swedish government’s committed to United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The scholarships will be awarded for one or two years’ full-time master’s degree courses at Swedish Universities. However, scholarships are renewed based on academic performance at the end of every semester or year for 2 year programs.

Scholars of will be exposed to a unique opportunity to develop professionally and academically as well as experience the Swedish society and culture. Moreover, scholars will build network and relationship with other scholars.

The Swedish Institute scholarships award scholarships to ambitious young professionals who have outstanding academic qualifications, work experience and leadership experience. Scholars must be willing to make a difference and foster sustainable development in their country.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
There are over 600 eligible master’s degree programmes taught in English at Swedish Universities commencing in the autumn semester 2020. However, the list of eligible master’s degree programmes for the Swedish Institute Scholarships 2020/2021 will be published on the Swedish scholarship website by 6th November 2019.

Please note that master’s degrees which are likely to contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development will be given a preference.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Applicants planning to apply must meet the criteria below;
Have a minimum of 3,000 hours of full-time or part-time employment, voluntary work and paid or unpaid internship.
Be a citizen/national of an eligible country listed above
Posses academic qualifications as well as leadership experience
Admitted to one of the eligible master’s degree programmes at eligible Swedish Universities or Institution.

A degree in statistics will lead to opportunities all over the world! Statisticians have a unique set of analytical skills that make them valuable in almost every area of industry and science.

With a degree in Statistics, you could work in:

Computing: As a statistician, you could work in software design and development to create code and analytics platforms that are both user-friendly and statistically robust.

Engineering: Statisticians use principles of hypothesis testing and quality assurance to make consistent products, detect production problems, and predict product life in electronics, chemicals, transportation, and construction.

Marketing: Statisticians design experiments for evaluating new products and conduct focus groups and sample surveys to gauge customer opinions. They may also perform field experiments in new markets to determine demand for a certain product.

Computational biology/bioinformatics: Biologists produce petabytes of data to find cure for cancer and to breed more valuable animals and plants. They need statisticians and computer scientists to design, evaluate and interpret their experiments and to read DNA the blueprint of our lives!

Consulting: As a statistician, you may be approached to work on a temporary basis solving new and unique problems for a client.

Aside what you learnt in the University,you can take advantage of some trainings while serving inorder to be better equipped; trainings that will equip you with skillset needed to plan, design and deploy an RF network, set up a point-to-point microwave link, install and configure base station equipment, install and configure 2G, 3G and 4G telecom equipment from Vendors like Huawei and Ericsson, implement Rf drive-test and optimization on 3G and 4G networks, etc.
A career in the telecommunications industry is suitable for highly skilled and dedicated individuals with an aptitude and interest towards modern communication methods.

However,it’s a good time to consider a career in Network Engineering. Network engineers get the opportunity to work in almost any industry alongside a team of skilled IT professionals. And with more companies making the shift to big data, cloud computing and social media, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a steady growth in the demand for network engineers and system architects. I have some friends who are CCIE holders and working with Amazon. I also have a good number of friends who have passed the theoretical part of CCIE(meaning they are done with CCNA,all the CCNPs and want to build a career as a Network Architect).

As an aspiring Network Engineer,take the time to master the core concepts of networking to ensure you have the right foundation. Expand your knowledge on areas like subnetting, spanning-tree and ARP before taking on advanced components like BGP route reflectors.
