Congratulations!!!!! I have always said to people. If you are a graduate students going for visa, you must sound practical not memorizing theories; give responses that the VO can relate with convincingly.

My interview was today by 7:00 am at Victoria Island.
Visa Offier was a late twenties (probably) beautiful brunette (definitely American - from the accent).

She was frowning and not even acknowledging me from the start. She was just looking at her computer.

Transcript:

Me: Good morning

VO: (no reply)... pass your passport and I-20.

Me: (again) good morning

VO: (still no reply) why are you going to xxxx University.

Me: (thinking...wetin dey make this one vex) With voice a bit shaky, I started....During my Masters thesis (I attended Bleep university in Nigeria) I found the technique of one of Prof... xxxx of Ohio University Research paper very helpful in completing my thesis. I contacted him to learn more and the possibility of further research in this area. When the opportunity to pursue a PhD came I applied to xxxx university.

VO: What is your research area?

Me: I'm going for a PhD in Elect. Engr. My area of specialization would be in Communications and Digital signal processing.

VO: Who is Sponsoring.

Me: I have a scholarship (VO was quite pleased and looked at my I-20 with surprise ... my I-20 specified the full costs as family funds) then I added my dad would cover any cost difference.

VO: Picks a paper (me eager to look, Oh! Thank God, its White) and says instruction t o pick bla bla bla....

Me: (With a big smile). Thank you, you have made my day.

VOsad still didn't answer)

Me: Found my way out of there ASAP!!!

No othet documents was requested for during the interview.
