A policeman in Imo State, Paul Joseph, on Wednesday reportedly committed suicide over alleged delayed promotion, a report by PUNCH said.

Three teens were wounded in a shooting near Percy L. Julian High School on Chicago’s South Side Thursday morning, police said.
A 19-year-old man, 16-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy were in the 1000 block of West 103rd Street at about 8:40 a.m. when police said a small tan SUV with four people inside approached. Someone got out of the car and opened fire in the Washington Heights neighborhood.

The 16-year-old girl, who’s a Julian High School student, said she was walking to school with a 15-year-old friend when the two stopped at a gas station to talk to a neighborhood acquaintance who works there, according to the girl’s mother.

“She was just standing outside and they just start shooting,” said the girl’s mother, who asked not be named out of fear of retaliation by those responsible for the attack.

While a bullet grazed the left calf of the teen girl, the 19-year-old man was shot in the mouth....

An Oxford student who alleges a fellow student raped her said she could not have consented to have sex with him because it was against the rules of her ”open relationship”.

At Oxford Crown Court yesterday, a jury was shown a video interview with the woman who accused Oxford University student Niall McPaul of raping her.

She later stood behind a screen in the court to give her evidence, out of sight of the accused.

The young woman told the jury she had woken up to find McPaul on top of her, raping her, after a night where she had described herself as “eight or nine” out of 10 in terms of being drunk, having had a bottle and a half of wine.


She told police McPaul had sat on the side of her bed following the rape and said: “This is one of those unfortunate things that happen.”
