I am looking to get either MTN Fiber X or AIRTEL ODU by next month, but I see negative reviews for both of them. I stay in Majek, Sangotedo. Does anyone know which one would be best for me? why spend 50k monthly and still not get value when you can do that with Starlink and have peace of mind? Either Starlink Mini or Standard, choose whichever fits your pocket. You're welcome |

Technology Market › Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by inze(m): 2:49pm On Mar 22 |
femarse: Pls can I use the DC port of the generator to charge car battery ? Is there anything I need to do special before doing it ? I am just connecting wire to both plus and minus of the gen and the DC outlet , is that right ? You technically can, but it’s not recommended and often not very effective or safe. Those small 12 V DC ports on portable generators are usually meant for light, occasional charging (like small batteries or basic “boost” charging), not for properly charging a car battery. They are: - Often poorly regulated: voltage and current can fluctuate and may overcharge or undercharge the battery, shortening its life or even damaging it. - Too weak/slow: many are limited to a few amps, so charging a car battery from low state can take a very long time and still not reach full charge. - Lacking proper charging stages: a healthy charge needs bulk, absorption, and float stages, which these DC outlets don’t manage. The safer and better way is: 1. Run the generator. 2. Plug a proper 12 V smart battery charger (or car battery charger) into the generator’s 230/240 V AC socket. 3. Connect that charger to the car battery (red to +, black to –) and let the charger manage voltage and current. If you still insist on using the DC port directly, at minimum you should: - Confirm the generator’s DC output voltage and current rating in its manual. - Make sure the battery is 12 V lead‑acid and not completely dead. - Use proper cables/clamps, connect + to + and – to –, and monitor for overheating or boiling. - Don’t leave it unattended for long periods. But for your car battery and your generator, the correct advice is: use the generator’s AC output with a dedicated battery charger, not bare wires from the DC port. |
Technology Market › Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by inze(m): 10:57am On Feb 03 |
Ivan18888888888: I’m in severe pains 😪
about Last month or thereabouts , I purchased an LG Dual Inverter ac .
Mind you This is not my first time buying this model, as I previously purchased one around 2018.
From my experience with the older unit, I can confidently say that the quality of these products is no longer what it used to be.
On the very day I bought the new unit from Fouani Store, something immediately caught my attention. The branding and writing on the unit looked substandard. For a premium brand like LG, one would expect a more refined and professional finish. However, the lettering on the “LG Dual Inverter” label appeared poorly done, from the colour used to the alignment of the letters. It did not look neat or well-finished. This already raised concerns about a decline in build quality.
Then further down to after using the air conditioner, regularly for a little over a month, the gap in performance, build quality, and overall efficiency became more noticeable and increasingly difficult to ignore. With my previous LG Dual Inverter, once the Jet Mode was turned on in my bedroom, the cooling was so powerful that the living room would also become very cold, sometimes to the point where I had to turn it off to avoid excessive cold. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the new unit. The cooling performance is noticeably weaker. It does not produce the same level of coldness, even within the bedroom itself, let alone the living room. To achieve a very cold room, I now have to keep the door completely closed, which was not necessary with my previous unit.
Honestly, This experience has left me extremely disappointed.
have always been a loyal fan of LG, especially the LG Dual Inverter series, but it is difficult to ignore the fact that the quality and performance are no longer at the level they once were. sorry about your trouble. You probably bought the "advanced features" variation which most people have complained online about its "sub-par" quality. Stick to the GenCool as advised online, a google search should point you to this information. Advanced features should sell higher than regular dual inverter but here reverse is that case. |

Oyibopepe2000: Ok. But l let me ask although I asked this question elsewhere but I'm still slightly confused. How about the money we already have in our accounts before this tax law. What happens to it say we don't invest it . Will it be taxed by the end of the year.
Also let's say one invested in tbills or mutual funds via one of these fund managers and their app and you finally want to withdrawx your capital or just the gains back to your bank account, will the money (capital or gains) be taxed? If yes what narrative can one use to avoid that? Let's talk as market people inside ojuelegba now. Take for instance you go to Bokku store and make purchase, on your receipt you'd see a total of what you bought and paid for also slightly before total amount paid you'll also see 'VAT' right ? Now if you didn't buy anything from the said store, there wouldn't be anything as VAT to be paid. Invariably, if you do not earn profit/interest or fall below the interest threshold in a year, the tax matters barely concerns you. Might want to also add that tax is filed at the end of business year Hope this helps |

. . . for those who're still confused as to the un-answered question yet, i believe the below suffice: e.g : 5,000,000 was invested at 15% at 1st of Jan 2025 for a 365day period via Treasury Bill and interest paid out upfront (750,000 assuming nobody charged you nada) and at maturity there's a brouhaha of 10% WHT, this would apply to the previous upfront 750k (75k) and not your capital (500k). Meaning, if already you weren't charged, at maturity you'd be debited 75k (10% WHT of 750k) from your 5mil Capital, leaving you with 4.925k You're welcome |

enque: By the time the 91 days elapse and you wanna re-invest, there is a probability that rates might have gone lower for both 91 days and 364 days tenor.
Remember you do not have any control over these rates going up or down. #My2Cents petux: sorry to ask but why would anyone invest in the 364 days @ 18% when they can get just do 91 days @ 15% and even compound the money quickly? or i'm not getting something right? to add to the above Even if you compound interest of 91days x 3 it won't amount to that of 365Days. For example, 18% at 365 days for 5m gives you 900k(lets not talk deductions now) But 15% at 91days for 5m gives you 187,500 (if you succefully get same rate x 4 to make up for 1year = 750,000 still short of 150k ) egbon Sodiqqi |
