scally11: Nope thats not completely correct..just to clarify band 8 is not director level. Band 8a-8b are senior managers Band 8c are typically Head of departments, they earn £75k and above Band 8d are associate Directors or deputies-£85k and above Band 9 are Directors- £95k and above Anything above Band 9( Very Senior Managers -VSM) are typically Executives in C-Suite. To get the salary range, search "Agenda for change 23/24" you will see salary for each Band. |

I'm probably not in the best place to be advising, seeing as I just chopped my own rejection. But I noticed on the letter they have stated 4mil naira annually as income( which equates to 333k monthly) and monthly expenditure is 300k? This means disposable income monthly is only 33k? Unless I've read this wrong or ECO has misread your income as 4mil annually instead of 4mil monthly Lizboh: 2 Likes |

Thank you for your input, I did write a cover letter and stated the salary as monthly. But I'll take your advise and point out even the most basic, obvious aspect I was trying to be concise in my letter to address key items as I expected common sense to tell them if you can see 350k every single month, from the same company then perhaps crosscheck it with what the applicant put in the employment section They could also see the 100k I take out monthly o...so I guess just grasping at straws to reject for the sake of it I'll update on outcome of 2nd application, hopefully positive this time round. Thanks for your input...I didn't think 350k was low as well given there would be no other cost to me as flight, accommodation and feeding was all sponsored and I had shown ties back home. I even included thr prepaid flight details ( as my sister booked refundable ticket). I am just extremely upset this visa officer certainly didn't review properly. In fact the same 350k value was stated in my cover letter as monthly salary , same value is seen monthly in my bank statement ( but this ECO said its unexplained, when they can clearly see its from my employer o) This is either a deliberate rejection or just very shoddy job by someone who really ought to be told off by their superiors . They are humans too and make mistakes I guess, so we move and I'll reapply and point out every line of their rejection I shall update here sha, and pray for a positive outcome this time. Thanks for your input, i appreciate it and I'll bear it in mind. I did think since my flight, feeding and accommodation had been demonstrated as been taken care of and the ECO alluded to that (re sponsor) that my income wouldn't matter. All learning curve I guess. I suppose I should probably have made clear 100k is contribution to household grocery paid in cash monthly. Cashmadam: |

Apparently this option can drag on for a long time and outcome is not guaranteed to be positive especially for visit visa applicants, this is from a lawyer I spoke to this morning. He advised to take my chance with reapplying and stress the error they made on my original application Ipanema: |

Also I forgot to ask re the 2nd point about 100k expenditure, how do I prove this to the visa Officer? Given this is my contribution to household bills and most are paid in cash hence why I take this value out monthly from the salary account? Please help? Ipanema: |

Hi folks, My application was refused because the the officer didn't read their own information...I had filled in monthly salary at 350knaira monthly and they mistook this for 350k annually. My bank statement was also purposely kept clear of noise as I ensured it was only showing the 350k paid monthly by my employer and the 100k I take out monthly for my bills( I make sure I take out the 100k in one go as well, to avoid clutter). No other ins or out in the salary account apart from salary in monthly and 100k out monthly, I left the residual valance every month in thr same account...so how they can then say the funds are unexplained is beyond me, as it states the company name that pays the money (same company I have identified as my employer on my application o) They clearly had no issue with mu sponsor as my sister had written ans shown prove she'll pay my flight, accommodation and feeding...I have shown home ties with my kids, husband and work so these aspects are not an issue . I am planning to reapply, as I believe this person reviewed in haste and didn't verify the information before them, my question is in my introduction letter do I address this as the first thing or write other aspect of the introduction before getting to this? Ps: I did write a detailed introduction in my application, showed itinerary etc. |
