you can learn on your own but the artistry comes from within you. zpixel is right it is faster to learn from an experienced guy if you can get one. pity am all tired to round off different projects, but maybe next time ![]() |
or try the unreal shader. mostly for lightwave 3d though ![]() |
@yicob. it all depends on what you want to do. if you are going to be doing 2d work, well sorry my friend, you will need to go take art lessons ( life drawing, etc), if it is 3d, you probably get away with it by just learning the software, have a great eye for details and just being able to sketch your ideas on paper! but tinkerbell ( i hope i spelt it right) is right, if you delve into it for monetery purpose you might never get as good as just having passion for it. Good luck! |
my custom " FERRARI_612_SCAGLIETTI_GTB" .modelled in lightwave3d and post-process in photoshop!
|
@ lafem thanks for your comments, like the research/ articles you have provided to this forum. hope you are successful when you come back to the country. don't mind working with you or anyone else in your project! keep up the good work! but |
@ zpixel you right! we need something of that online. so we can get more freelance job!!!! ![]() |
oops, didn't know i had posted it twice, same thing though ![]() |
"ANTROKER" the purple ant ninja ![]()
|
if it was put right as a voluntary job, it would make sense to beg artist to help in different aspects of the project and give everybody his/her credit. but to have one person do all, , ANIMATION IS A HUGE TASK ON ITS OWN! not to talk about adding planning and editing!! |
@ zpixel u can check smcars.net, look at the forum section theblueprints.com suurland.com and lots more!!! ![]() |
great model but i think there are slight inconsistencies in the reflection of the body, espercially the back of the car. it kind of breaks between the windscreen and the bonnet too. but it might have been your intent. also check out seriouswheels.com you will be able to find that audi concept car there and a whole lots more so you can finish your model if you want to. by the way, i use lightwave also, so grafikdon is not the only one!! ![]() |
superb! absolutely superb! but hey you forgot to mention that one can focus on being a 3d modeller while another can be the animator. there are different aspects in computer graphics and one can specialise on any of the aspects, modelling animating, lighting etc. like me, i prefer 3d modelling and try to let somebody else do the animation if i can. but i guess in Nigeria you have to learn to wear many hats. ![]() |
something like " free + car + sounds or free+car sounds. first usually works for me!!!! |
google it. a lot of free sounds on the net, but as you know google you have to know how to put your search questions right. use the "+" to search. good luck can't wait to see the tv commercial. |
probably because we like to keep things ourselves and won't want to work with others! but seriously you have to get a sponsor ( i think) and that can be a pretty daunting task. but i think the country is becoming flexible i this areas, so i say work on your idea and then look for sponsors, u never know! ( if its a large project you have, assemble a team!) |
no problem bro, have fun! |
hey you didn't really explain your problem too well, but i think you should go to image size and add your measurement if ti doesn't look good hit that UNDO button. ( sorry you will have to look for it in corel draw, speaking from a photoshop point of view). i think the width is usually longer than the height in an invitation card. hope this helps! |
great seems like a lot of us artist are doing musical videos right now. well here is a test render of an animated musical video in progress. not added the touch ups yet. what you guys think abeg, ![]()
|
hey lafem, can you give me the license to model those characters , i can imagine the amount of fun i could get out of this when, i finish animating them!!!! ![]() |
now that you will never know! ![]() |
oh you guys are just killing me, i saw this thread and am marvelled at how things are coming. you guys do great 2D stuff. that was just the right jersey to portray, AC MILAN all the way!!!! also think have found the first lady in Nigeria!, gamine the fact you are in to graphics, you rock!!! me think am in l*&%. oops ![]() |
points taken, agree with grafik, and zpixel. whats the point if you can't tell the studio that the work on soundcity. personally i feel it is more of competition than piracy structure. are we going to keep on hiding. if you do a major work, u get major pay, first thing you do you try and licence your software or you use open source like blender. what is so bad about those. i feel nigerians should stop coding themselves and share information about how to do stuffs. i have friends that say you don't want to teach me this, and hogwash! but they don't realise you can't do it all your own or you get burned out. u really need help!!!!!! grafikdon is right. do you really think one studio does all the work in a major feature film, hell no!! some specialise. i don't know if they are upgraded, but i remember blur studios specialized on a particular purpose( i think special effects, not sure anymore). okx your right on the measurement and the specs of the machines for set extension but it still depends on the complexity of the vfx, ( check out storm breaker)you are trying to achieve. right now we don't need set extension in the nigerian film industry, what we really need is better special effects, like blown up cars, fires, bullet fires, etc. i had done an effect like that, it took like ten hours to track a digital hand and it was okay, even if we were just having fun. but i can imagine the possibilities if i was doing it professional. but i feel if you have something too hot to handle, get people to help and do something appealing. the credit will still be on you cos you got contracted and you delivered!!. |
don't worry it's original i have the sample files and even the test renders before i posted them. mostly likely you saw them in renderosity.com under the artist name 'muchacha'. i really did not know how far nigeria was coming up in the 3d section so i did not bother and did not know until a friend told me about this site called 3Dnigeria.com. where i posted the mclaren image and don't know what happened to the site when i came back cos i was away someplace where i had no access to the internet( thanks to nysc). and then i stumbled across this forum. but sincerely its original and to prove it i will post my next new image in this forum before i post it in renderosity under the same artist name "muchacha". so no worrys' then. |
oops, sorry i just saw the heading after i posted that, thought the heading was scifi nigerian game. |
hey!, i felt science fiction is usually associated with spaceships, have not seen any concept yet. i have a scifi dual-fighter i built sometime ago, never did an animation on them. but if you request i kind do a very very shot movie clip on them, at least i will finally have a reason to have fun on them. here is a sample image of it. ![]()

look for blender tutorials on the net and try to learn it. don't be fazed about evrybody talking about not using blender ( i don't use blender myself cos i was blessed with lightwave from the conception, but i hope to use blender for fluid system) but i have seen some upcoming cg animated feature that they used blender, and they are pretty damn awesome! so don't be fazed, learn any tutorial even if it is not a blender tutorial. but can give you advice if you need help. |
well, all send and done. the key is to draw your comics on paper and then scan them, so you can retouch them in a program like photoshop. if you have enuf budget you can invest in a graphic tablet ( its worth it!) and try and get all those different engineering pencils( if thats what they are called) cos they have different line effect and one more thing, don't forget to scan your drawing in a fairly large paper ( i mean don't scan them with those small boxes you see in comics) that way when they are scanned large you have enuf space to work on the image which gives you better control of the image without the issue of blurred images. then when done, scaled them down to the size you want in the program. hope this helps. goodluck! |
