I really do hope it's original
Re: Tiny 3d Portfolio by iparrot(m): 10:40am On Oct 08, 2007
don't worry it's original i have the sample files and even the test renders before i posted them. mostly likely you saw them in renderosity.com under the artist name 'muchacha'. i really did not know how far nigeria was coming up in the 3d section so i did not bother and did not know until a friend told me about this site called 3Dnigeria.com. where i posted the mclaren image and don't know what happened to the site when i came back cos i was away someplace where i had no access to the internet( thanks to nysc). and then i stumbled across this forum. but sincerely its original and to prove it i will post my next new image in this forum before i post it in renderosity under the same artist name "muchacha". so no worrys' then.

I have an idea about what one can do with photorealistic 3D animation. You see, sometimes you have a movie set in a location that's expensive to obtain. It would be useful to be able to shoot the actors with a green screen and then render the background using 3D tools. For example, let's say we want to film a movie set in a mansion, we could generate the mansion in 3D and add it to the actors' performance in front of a green screen.

That is how movies like Star Wars, located in "space", and King King, on the "empire state building" were shot.

sure seun, but believe me if u want a realistic composition-the work is humongous.every aspect on set has to be recorded n measured. u need a highly professional crew 2 even think of that.and i speak 4m xperience!then the machines u need 4 the rendering have 2 have mad specs-unless time/cash is no object.most movies that use it either want to show off the technology,or the set is too fantastic to exist naturally.cg effects r costlier than using the actual locations most times.

whadd up, guys
am new to nairaland, its just my first time of joining,

please i need some, i want to know the software that soundcity uses for their t.v presentations, i mean i usually see a lot of effects with textures that looks like brush paints.
i was into graphics , starting from Coreldraw 9-11 and photshop but due to some circumstances i was drafted into the programming world, i still havent lost my touch but i am lost in terms of graphic softwares,

please i really need to get my game back on,

please help me out, most particular about what soundcity and the hipworld uses, from what i see its the same technology,

please help me out with some info,

For the new soundcity montage, the one with a guy in a purple car and another one with billboards. Maya, photoshop and aftereffect were used. I did my IT at the studio.

@ OKX. . . that may be the code of conduct in Nigeria because in US/UK and the world over, revealing the tools used by studios for a particular project is the norm. Blur studio has never made it a secret they're a massively 3D Max only studio. They (VFX Studios including ILM, Weta, Framestore CFC, Cafe FX and Rainmaker) mention the tools including in house proprietary tools and back it up with some video demonstration depicting in details all the stages involved . If you take a look at some DVD extra, you will find them. The examples are everywhere. Seen the making of Sandman with Side Effects Houdini Master, detailed VFX of the movie Serenity with Newtek Lightwave and others too numerous to mention. I think ZPixel is in order here if I should use what is obtainable from the world as a yard stick. Again, Nigeria probably has a different modus operandi.

SURE GRAFIK.
UR RITE ON THE MONEY.
ONLY THING IS,(AND I MAY BE WRONG)CHANCES ARE THE FIRM MAY NOT SURVIVE A SOFTWARE PROBE!
LIKE U SAID- THIS IS NIGERIA. PIRATES HAVEN!
ALTHOUGH THIS SOUNDS LIKE IM PROTECTING THEM.

APOLOGIES ZPIXEL!

I STAND REBUKED.LOL
Re: Tiny 3d Portfolio by iparrot(m): 11:09am On Oct 11, 2007
points taken, agree with grafik, and zpixel. whats the point if you can't tell the studio that the work on soundcity. personally i feel it is more of competition than piracy structure. are we going to keep on hiding. if you do a major work, u get major pay, first thing you do you try and licence your software or you use open source like blender. what is so bad about those. i feel nigerians should stop coding themselves and share information about how to do stuffs. i have friends that say you don't want to teach me this, and hogwash! but they don't realise you can't do it all your own or you get burned out. u really need help!!!!!! grafikdon is right. do you really think one studio does all the work in a major feature film, hell no!! some specialise. i don't know if they are upgraded, but i remember blur studios specialized on a particular purpose( i think special effects, not sure anymore). okx your right on the measurement and the specs of the machines for set extension but it still depends on the complexity of the vfx, ( check out storm breaker)you are trying to achieve. right now we don't need set extension in the nigerian film industry, what we really need is better special effects, like blown up cars, fires, bullet fires, etc. i had done an effect like that, it took like ten hours to track a digital hand and it was okay, even if we were just having fun. but i can imagine the possibilities if i was doing it professional.
but i feel if you have something too hot to handle, get people to help and do something appealing. the credit will still be on you cos you got contracted and you delivered!!.

Am mainly behind 3dnigeria and About 3dnigeria.com, the project isn't dead, but i have to admit that it got a little bigger than i could handle. What i want to ask if it was helping anyone at all, so that ill know whether to put in d effort to resurrect it. Also i wasn't getting enough contributions from the other "pros" in the house for tutorials and so on. also it would require creationof a proper php/asp based site and that i cannot handle right now. Ill be pleased if i can get help from graphic gurus as well as web programmers. also anyone with ideas on how to market the site and generate monetary gain is highly welcome. I have been working on video tutorials but their upload time is hell.any suggestions?

i have since delved into motion grahiks and intend to expand the scope of the site including tutorials but am going to need help.
