The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old man over alleged attempt to kill his mother for ritual purpose through an advanced cyber fraud known as yahoo plus.

The victim, Mrs Alice Akinola, had her skull smashed with a plank perforated with nails and a pressing iron during the alleged attack by her son, Taiwo Akinola, inside their flat located at 2, Raji Ajanaku street, Alaja road, in Ayobo area of Lagos, at about 8.30pm, Sunday.

As at yesterday, doctors at an undisclosed hospital were still battling to revive the victim who was brought in unconscious, with a deep cut on her fore head and a swollen face.

By Lolo Ayaba Two males, Miracle George 19 and Emmanuel Nwadike 29, have been arrested by the Abia State Police Command for allegedly defiling two minors aged six and eight years respectively.
The duo were among the 43 criminal suspects paraded yesterday at the CPS, umuahia where their victims, names withheld were also presented to newsmen with the victim of Emmanuel Nwadike, an eight year old girl with fresh wounds as a result of the forceful defilement.

Although Miracle George , 19 denied the allegation Emmanuel Nwadike 29 who lured his co-tenants foster daughter into his room and forcefully defiled her on july 23, 2018 pleaded guilty and wept over his devilish actions while speaking with newsmen.

By Lolo Ayaba The Police in Akwa Ibom State have arrested a grandmother, Ekaette Obot, for allegedly stealing and selling of her granddaughter for N200,000.

Obot, who claimed to be 27-year-old, stated that does menial job and that she sold the child to free her daughter, Blessing Okon (18) from the burden of motherhood.

Commissioner of Police, Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi, said Obot who is also pregnant, confessed to the Police that as soon as she puts to bed she will sell the baby.

Four policemen attached to special anti robbery squad, (SARS), Ikeja have been dismissed and charged to court for armed robbery, kidnapping and unlawful detention.
The officers identified as: Sgt Adeoye Adekunle, Sgt AdeniraAdebowale, Sgt Agbi Lucky and Sgt Odighe Hehosa were dismissed after the Assistant Inspector General in charge of zone 2 command, AIG Adamu Ibrahim, recommended their dismissal following the report of the Investigation carried out against them.

It was learned that on June, 4, 2017, the four police officers abducted Mr Chukwudi Godwin Odionye popularly referred to as ‘Bishop from his residence in Alagbado area of Lagos.

According to the victim, Chukwudi Godwin Odionye, “I

was in my house when four armed men stormed my home to effect my arrest on the allegation of performing ‘FAKE’ miracles. After my arrest, I was taken to a hotel at Agege where I was detained and threatened to be killed if I fails to cooperate. He explained further that on the following day 5th June 2017, I was taken to bank where I was made to transfer seven million Naira to one of the operatives account.

A Political leader and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Apapa local government area (Apapa Iganmu and Apapa LG), Omoba Niyi Aborishade, is dead.

Newsbeat learned that the popular politician was shot on Saturday July, 21, 2018, during Lagos State PDP visitation meeting at Igbosuku village, Eti-Osa LGA, attended by Lagos State and Local Government PDP Chairmen.

It was gathered that towards the end of the meeting, fracas broke out between contending factions of the party; one faction for the State Chairman, Hon. Moshood Adegoke Salvador and the other for the Eti-Osa LG Chapter Chairman, Engr Kehinde Fasasi.

In the melee, one Hon. Borishade Adeniyi, the Apapa LG PDP Chapter Chairman, recognised also as the Doyen of PDP LG Chapter Chairmen in Lagos State, was allegedly shot and injured on the leg.

He was rushed to First Consultant Hospital, Obalende, Lagos, where he was treated but eventually died. Corpse of the deceased has been deposited in the hospital mortuary. Two other persons allegedly injured during the clash, are also receiving treatment in a hospital in Ajah.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Imohimi Edgal, directed the Area Commander in-charge of Area ‘J’ Elemoro, to ensure the arrests of all those involved in the crime. Pursuant to the directive, five (5) of the principal suspects were arrested; viz:

Engr Kehinde Fasasi, chapter chairman, Eti-Osa LG,
Hon. Rotimi Kujore, PDP chapter chairman, Lagos Island LG
Alhaji Fatai Adele, PDP chapter chairman, Mushin LG,
Mr. Ismail Abiola, PDP chapter chairman, Amuwo Odofin LG and
Dr. Amos Alabi Fawole, PDP chapter chairman, Surulere LG. ..
The five suspects have been transferred to SCIID, Panti, for further investigation.

Following the abduction of two toddlers, Goodness Igwe and Elo Ogidi who went missing during church service at Latter Rain assembly, and Christ Embassy Church, Oregun on June 3, and July 8, 2018, respectively, the Lagos State Police Command has burst a human trafficking syndicate that specialize in the abduction of children from Churches and Mosque in Lagos.

Four members of the gang have since been arrested and they are being detained at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja. The suspects were tracked down to their hideout on Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The police said that it has commenced manhunt for other members of the gang.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police Imohimi Edgal who made this disclosure while briefing media men said that he has ordered authorities in charge of Churches and mosques in the state to beef up security around their worship centres during and after services.

Father remanded in prison for sexually abusing 12-year-old daughter

An Ikeja Magistrates’ court has remanded one Amusat Ashiru, a 60-year-old bus driver who allegedly defiled his 12-year-old daughter in Lagos for several months.

Ashiru, who resides at Orisunbare, Shasha, allegedly turned his daughter into a sex machine after she moved in with him 3 months ago following his divorce from her mother.

The Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, who refused to take the plea of the accused, said he should be kept behind bars pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The Police Prosecutor, ASP Ezekiel Ayorinde, told the court that, the accused committed the offence sometime in May at his residence and the sexual abuse happened multiple times.

“The girl, who has been staying with her grand mother since her parents separated, decided to live with her father.

“She moved into her father’s house three months ago and since that day, her father had turned her into a sex machine,’’ Ayorinde is quoted as saying.

Ayorinde said the girl could no longer tolerate her father’s constant sexual demands so she ran away from home and was begging people to house her in their homes.

“A good Samaritan, who met her on the road begging for where to sleep, interrogated her and she told her what her father has been doing to her.

“The woman reported the case to the police and the accused was arrested,” the prosecutor said.

The offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The case was adjourned until Aug. 6 for mention

It will be recalled that the suspect who was paraded alongside other notorious criminals at the Lagos state police command revealed that it was the devil that led him into the act.

A two man human trafficking syndicate who specialises in recruiting teenage girl from Rivers, Imo and Akwa-Ibom States for prostitution have been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command.

The suspects, Ikechkwu Egbulefu and Vera John who are lovers were arrested at their hideout at Wagbas Hotel Ajah, Lagos, where they camp the girls as sex slaves.
