Hello NDLers... I'm a working class guy, with a bank in Enugu. The basic pay is 6 digits monthly and all that but sitting behind a system 9-5 is now really my thing. Teaching is my talent and impacting knowledge my passion hence I desire to establish a secondary school in South East Nigeria, preferably Aba. Have set a target of time before I resign my banking job. I just need an insight from those with the know-how of school management... how much do I need to establish a standard secondary school? Anything else I need to know (considering the fact I'm not really experienced in running a school)? I await meaningful responses... plus can the Mods help me move this to the front page? Regards. |
Hello NLDers... I'm a working class guy, with a bank in Enugu, but sitting in front of a system 9-5 is not really my thing, the pay is very good but teaching is my passion hence I want to establish a secondary school in South Eastern Nigeria, preferably Aba. Does anyone here has an idea the estimated cost of setting up a standard secondary school... Rent, salaries of teachers, govt registration, structures et al? I will appreciate such insight immensely. Regards. |
9) The Smello... Mostly Keke riders, bus conductors n area boys. The stench from their mouth can cause a revolution in ya stomach. Pray their team don't score n they throw their arms in the air in wild jubilation.... the odor from their armpits can give u momentary amnesia. These types also have a knack for coming 15 mins after kick off, squeeze themselves in-between people n then sorry na una name The Blind Fan... For this type, love is truly blind o. If he supports Man U, then Carrick > Pirlo. Umad? If he's a Chelsea fan, then FIFA robbed Hazard to award Ronaldo the WBP. 7) The Historian... This type can tell u the color of the socks Johan Cruyff first played with. He has all the names n histories stored up in his cranium n requires little or no invitation to start reeling them out n making u feel like a flat-chested woman in Tittsburg, abi Pittsburgh 6) The Clueless... this one practically can't differentiate his asshole from a hole in the ground if he were squatting in a rabbit's farm. Prolly watches football cos its the in-thing. He's the type to call Van Gaal a fool for benching C Ronaldo n Tevez whl playing Januzaj n Falcao. 5) The Street-side Lawyer... everything to this man na argument. Linesman blow throwing against team A, argument sets... shoulda been team B. Tell him Zlatan > Balotelli n u two might as well forget the match n cop a seat @ the back to slug it out. 4) The commentator... these are the talkactives. If football is been played with mouth, these types will be heading in their own crosses. They can give Jon Champion n Jim Beglin a run for their money. This type will gladly announce to u that Flamini just slipped a thru-pass to Chamberlin.... sorry, need I remind u u need a glass? 3) The gloryhunter... The Jada Fires n Lex Steeles of football. Fair weather fans... If Chelsea wallop Arsenal, they're blue-blooded n if Barca whitewash Madrid... Hala Camp Nou!! 2) The football site... this type knows every piece of news on goal.com n buys every edition of sports dailies.... or frequents a newspaper stand. Whichever way, get close n know the bastard ya darling club is hoping to spend millies on next. 1) The lovers... This types, which sadly happens to be mostly Arsenal fans, usually comes with their boos n spend 90% of the match time lapping her, ordering Smirnoff ice, feeding her kilishi or explaining that Mikel Obi is different from Saint Obi. sandijey: Make Una leave girls wey dey bleach o. No love for dark skin girls anymore. By the way, Girls that bleach and have black knuckles are using cheap bleaching cream. This days u can never no who bleached and who didn't. Cus expensive creams clear everything. I Noticed that fair girls are looking alike this days, almost like how all chinese people look alikeSweetie.... no matter the bleaching cream a girl use, her pus.ssy lips without always remember her true complexion |
Hi NLDers... Yesterday during lunch break, I was chatting with my colleague and She narrated a horrible experience she had last weekend. She visited this "close friend of hers" for the first time. Before she could say Jack Robinson... the guy got all excited and tried sleeping with her forcefully. She threatened to shout and he to hit her. Said the dude even got stark na.ked and tore up part of her clothes. He had to stop after several minutes of struggling. She left and swore never to come back again. Now the chap in question called her few days ago and claimed that a prophet had revealed to him (before he tried raping her) that she's him missing rib. According to him, he was only trying her to see how moral and decent she is. He has confirmed his doubts and now wants to settle down with her. She should forgive and come back for good. I laughed hard and told her prompt and plain that the Guy is just spinning a yarn, he still wants some IMO. Suprisingly, she objected, claiming that the guy is decent and mature blah blah blah. I surmise going back is still an option she keeps open. That kept me wondering... Could she be right? Or my observation was spot on? What do y'all think? |
Famouspecky: U will never save money while eating outWhat if the girl in question is work-tied? |
Famouspecky: Let's change these attitude ooo@ bolded... The one rotten fruit that spoilt the salad. @ Topic... Nice points. Doubt any girl will be so saintly though. Let's wait and see if the Amazon e-warriors will strike, seeing that their fellow woman started the thread |

kaboninc: Do you owe yourself a duty? You're just being rhetorical here right? |

Ijeleigbo: The reason for a higher education is not just to get certification but the knowledge you acquire is meant for the growth and development of the Nigerian economy.... Our Country is in a "shitty" state because our leaders have failed abruptly to manage the resources efficiently and effectively.... You as an average graduate of a particular field, you are under obligation to contribute to the growth of your economy.... Your contributions, ideas and creativity is what you owe your country not just getting a certificate and a good job.... No matter the present situation, you must love your country.... If everyone runs away from Nigeria, who will make Nigeria a better place.... We are tomorrow's leaders and the future of this great black nation rest on our shoulders.... We must keep our head up, stand firm in unity and fight corruption, unemployment, poverty........ We can do this if we believe!!!What a speech!! Martin Luther will be green with envy |
tonychristopher: Everybody Must Not Be An Employee..People Should Think Of Adding Value To Their Lives...That Money Used To Get A Masters Can Be Used For Business As TheBusiness Grows You Can Then Do Your Masters At Havard...My Dear Most Firms Are Not Interested In Certificates But CompetencySo you think everybody must be an entrepreneur? You concluded salaried workers are not adding values to their lives? And you're guaranteeing every business ventured into must pay off? Brazen assumptions there |
Ijeleigbo: This is where the problem lies, when you call your country a shitty country.... There is no perfect country! Every country has its own challenges, even the almighty United States ain't perfect.... You owe this country a lot as a graduate....But its an apt description... SHITTY COUNTRY! Really? The USA and Nigeria? High hopes much, mate. What does an average graduate out there owe this country? Please tell us |
kaboninc: And your reason is....? Ijeleigbo: What is untrue about the quoted statement? We don't owe this shitty country anything... Stop regurgitating Western axioms |
Ijeleigbo: What a thread! Very educating and enlightening.... I just couldn't help it but read all through the pages of this thread and really the issue of grading in Nigeria is a major one.... 1st class and 2nd class upper is good, it brings a feeling of self-accomplishment. My candid advice to those who graduated with a second class lower and third class is to obtain professional certification or a masters degree to boost your CV. Obtaining a bachelors degree is not about flaunting your grade but rather the major objective should be contributing to the growth and development of our society.... The present Nigeria structure is a failure, the destiny of this beloved country lies in our hands.... The mentality of our present generation must change, we must think of what we must do for our country and not what our country shall do for us..... We must think of how to become entrepreneurs and stop this craze for a white collar job that is non-existent.... Our thinking should change, only then the future will be bright.... A graduate be you first class, 2.1, 2.2 or 3.0 is a first class citizen of a society and it is required from such individual to make an impact in the society.... Every graduate must be creative, innovative, skillful and think out of the box.... This talk of grades is overrated and must cease.... It has not contributed to the development of Nigeria in anyway.... Thank you!!! femi4: Oya Seun, do the needful Ijeleigbo: What a thread! Very educating and enlightening.... ajoskele: How "IRRESPONSIBLE" could your defence be? I CANNOT "mispell" the name of the organisation I've been working with for the past two years!!Pop some chill pills, mate. He didn't misspell NNPC, he only did the word corporation. Defence? I'm not holding brief for anybody here... just that the nitpicking wasn't necessary. |
@ Topic... A BIG and RESOUNDING NOOOOO!! Love Mum to bits though |
ajoskele: Bros, ur first comment for Nairaland na lie..u no even sabi spell d "co-operation" wia u don dey work for 2years!How petty can someone get? You just ignored the goldmine of an input he made and started nitpicking. So he would've been telling the truth if he spelt the word correctly? Follow Mr George Carlin's advice and don't sweat the petty things. |
Just in case it.... You know na |
.... Grabs popcorn, watching from the backseat |
mack111: There's something i observed, almost everyone keeps mentioning getting a job in Nigeria is by god's grace nd not even by ur power nd hard work. However, i don't share from that fallacy cos it is stupid. If Nigeria is that bad, why haven't ur god fixed it or is ur god that blind that he can't see Nigeria falling apart or is he scared of our leaders? If ur god can claim he said let there be light nd so it was, if he also claims he's that fast in creating this world for 7days, then why is he this sluggish in saying or what's preventing him from saying let Nigeria be free from corruption cos that's d major cankerworm plaguing this country.A thousand likes for this. Nigerians are more Catholic than the Pope. I spare a moment of pity for their greatest scapegoat..... The Devil. Anyways, too many troubles bedeviling this country and the world by extension..... Someone has to take the blame |
lyricalz: Story story story, how many people with 2-1 have been able to secure a job? There are many 1st class graduate out there jobless too. Although having a good grade gives you an edged, it doesn't guarantee. Didn't you guys heard about the 6 phd holders who applied 6or a driving job @ dangote? The truth still remains, whether u like it or not. NIGERIA GRADUATES ARE UNEMPLOYABLE. The problem is that we value degree too much, of what use is a 1st graduate of computer engineer who can't even dismantle a laptop? (I helped one fix his laptop not quite long, collected my cool cash). What is he engineering? In summary instead of sitting in ur broke as* looking for job up and there, contributing to the army of unemployment just because you have 2-1. I advice you to start something now, no matter how small. Don't let anyone deceive you because u hv 2 1 its easier for u 2 get a job. And for my advice to all undergraduate, go on and be committed to knowing all u are been thought in school, explore more ideas outside the classroom so you can be EMPLOYABLE and SELF-SUFFICIENT, instead of just fighting for 2-1 in order 2 get a job.Not all Nigeria graduates are unemployable though majority are, because the country's education system is so phocked up that it keeps churning out raw lumps of flour who're way below half-baked. Skill acquisition, as you rightly pointed out, is the way to go now. Too many degree holders jostling for minute job openings. Country e hard o and millions still dey buy JAMB form |
