All income. I mentioned earlier that I didn't have to clear the portion as I was using it for vegetables from late last year to February this year. After planting, weeding was done twice by me. Below is the breakdown of expenses plus cost of clearing and weeding in the area, assuming I had have to do all those.

1. 2kg of premier seed...........1000
2. 2 paint buckets of urea.,.......1600
3. Clearing. .........4000
4. Weeding (twice) ..........6400
Total. ..............#13,000
Total income ............#57,600
Profit. ......... #44,600

Total income could have reached #70,000, but the good thing is I know WHY it didn't. That is the area to work on next time. My actual target was #80,000. Please don't say I'm taking it too far, remember I keep talking about the timing, if i had planted 2 weeks earlier it could easily be achieved.

=NextDayPP post=65800928]I am writing about my experience not because I feel I have arrived, but just to tell anyone wanting to do farming that no matter how many seminars you attend, your mistakes are going to be your ultimate teacher. I moved to another village and within 2 weeks, I was planting another plot of maize (early may) since then I have settled with maize and vegetable, leaving the more complicated tomatoes out of my farm. (I also have cassava for family consumption)

Today I have what it takes to cultivate one or two acres, but I want to conclude my study on Small Well Taken Care Of Farm when produce is scarce against Large Farm When Everyone Is Planting. in case you are wondering, there is a small pond near that has helped with watering, I used the same for vegetables between October and February.[/quote]I must say you’ve done a great job , I have 6 Afre farm that I am getting ready to plant cucumber and watermelon , I have no experience in maize at all but if I get advice from you or if you can help me with more info and ideas , time to time guide I’m willing to use some part to plant maize 2 plot maybe . How have you been able to take care of pest ?
Since you planted in a bigger land how have you been able to irrigate ?
