AUDITING ACTIVE DIRECTORY

Windows Active Directory is the underlying technology within the Microsoft Windows operating system that provides for an integrated and single sign-on system that addresses security, access and identity management.

The typical Windows environment is comprised of servers dedicated to specific tasks. Each device in an active directory domain trusts the Active Directory server and allows it to authenticate and approve the action that each user is trying to perform, either on the network or locally.

The new ISACA logo, with its rotating circular graphics, symbolizes the sense of agility and momentum that will propel us into becoming the modern learning organization that enables resilience and confidence in the face of change. It also conveys a sense of people interacting with one another, and that is truly what ISACA is: a people-focused organization that connects our professional community across the globe.

The new web experience is reflective of a new era at ISACA that we are all embarking on together. Since joining ISACA around 10 months ago, I have continually been impressed with the passion and spirit that are a hallmark of our community. It was inspiring to join as we celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2019 because I heard stories from all over the world about how our special organization took shape over the previous decades. I was fortunate enough to celebrate with many of ISACA’s past leaders, including founding member Gene Frank, and hear first-hand their enduring passion for the organization and what ISACA has meant to them on a personal level.

The impact of ISACA’s growth into an organization with more than 145,000 members and 220-plus chapters really hits home when you hear people tell their personal ISACA stories: how Los Angeles Chapter board member Kelly Lin’s first jobs in the industry came through her ISACA network; how Phil Zongo’s CISA certification set him on a life-changing path after a challenging upbringing; how New York Metropolitan Chapter President Karen Alexander makes mentoring young professionals and those from disadvantaged backgrounds a labor of love in addition to her own personal and professional responsibilities.

ISACA Lagos Chapter held its 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, April 13, 2019 and elected new Board Members to manage the affairs of the Association for the next two years.

Mr. Olusola Odediran took over from Mr. Adeola Willoughby as the President of the Chapter while Mrs. Funmilola Odumuboni took over as the new Vice President.

Mr. Willoughby listed the achievements of his Board, including the relocation of the Chapter’s secretariat to its new and befitting location at 127, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, obtaining the hosting rights for the 2020 Africa CACS, successful hosting of the 2019 Africa GRC Conference in collaboration with Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Nigeria, increased focus on hands-on skill-based training for members as well as improved social media presence and engagement. He thanked the Board and members of the Chapter for the support accorded to him during his tenure.

Mr. Odediran, in his own speech, solicited the support of members for the new Board stating that priority items for the new Board would include an increase in Chapter membership, increased collaboration with other ISACA Chapters in Nigeria and professional bodies, greater visibility and the successful hosting of the Africa CACS (ISACA Conference for the African region which will be held in Nigeria for the first time in 2020).

Other officers constituting the new Board of Directors of the Chapter include Mrs. Blessing Jasper-Mbamara (Secretary), Mrs. Clara Ikem (Assistant Secretary), Mr. Michael Lana (Education Director), Mr. Michel Ojih (Marketing Director), Mr. Leke Akinpelu (Certification & Membership Director), Yewande Ojikutu (Financial Secretary), Temitope Braimah (Treasurer), Mr. Samuel Adebayo (Government & Regulatory Advocacy Director) Mr. Onyekachi Okoye (Research & Technical Director) and Mr. Tokunbo Taiwo (Information & Branding Director).
