carbonado: "" do not mind her...you can tell that English is not her first language......how will you say that this Nigerian team does not know how to shoot, i guess because she saw us drive more against Senegal, she just concluded, not knowing that this team is deep enough to adjust to any defense.....
Lol at the female commentator. She said CIV knew the Nigerians were not good at shooting 3s.That's why they're in a zone defense. It was like the Nigerian girls heard her,got angered by the statement and started raining the 3s.

LagosEconomist: We have enough talent to win even with little preparation, but the main problem as always is that the administration is a mess.
There are two rival federations that were elected in separate elections. Two people are laying claim to the Chairmanship position (Tijani Umar and Musa Kida) and the world body has given Nigeria till November to get its house in order or risk a ban.
The Kida faction will probably win because the sports minister is backing them. The Tijani Umar faction appointed the former coach and asked him to continue for Afrobasket. The Kida faction appointed a new coach.
Most of the players that were in the Olympics will be loyal to Voight, but to be honest, we have a lot of Nigeria eligible players who are not in the mix that can put together to make a run at the title. Hopefully some god things are happening behind the scenes but you never know with Nigeria.
LagosEconomist: No team in this tournament should give Nigeria any trouble.
It is a disgrace that we missed the last Olympics and we should have been dominating African basketball for the last 2 decades with the talent we've had on both the men & women's side.
Let's forget about the past though. It seems a few things are coming together at least.
I'm more worried about the male team. No preliminary squad yet, no planned friendly matches and a new coach with just about 17 days to the tourney. For God sake, what have they been doing? Is this how we planned to defend the title?
