Politics › Re: 70% Rejection Of Tinubu And APC By National Polls. by isio1: 9:13am On May 31 |
Ofunaofu: The mistake you will ever make is comparing Buhari to Tinubu as if they are politically equivalent.
Buhari and Tinubu are not the same. Before becoming president, Buhari had a tested and consistent political base of roughly 10–12 million loyal votes across multiple election cycles. Whether you liked him or not, his popularity was organic and undeniable.
Tinubu, on the other hand, has never demonstrated anything close to that level of independent electoral strength. His political relevance has largely depended on party structures, governors, incumbency advantages, and state machinery. Strip away those structures and it's difficult to point to a massive personal voting bloc comparable to Buhari's.
As for online polls, nobody is claiming they determine election results. They simply reflect public sentiment and approval at a given moment. The fact that Tinubu and the APC are recording rejection rates of this magnitude should concern any serious political observer rather than be dismissed with jokes.
On performance. Buhari was heavily criticized for insecurity, economic challenges, and governance failures. Yet Tinubu inherit those problems, instead of making live easier for Nigerians, he ended up making life harder for Nigerians through removal of subsidy on fuel and electricity, soaring inflation, a collapsing cost of living, and worsening economic hardship. And worst of it, an insecurity level never witnessed in the history of this country. If Buhari underperformed, Tinubu's record so far is a catastrophe.
The biggest mistake anyone can make heading into 2027 is assuming that because Buhari survived public criticism, Tinubu will automatically enjoy the same political resilience. Buhari had a bankable personal following. Tinubu does not. Those are two very different political realities. Apt. There's nothing more to add. |

Politics › Re: Northerners Are Very Wary Of Tinubu's SS Support Base by isio1: 6:17pm On May 30 |
FSBoperator: This is the only reason the Turaki , and by all measures, northern PDP faction is trying to force GEJ to run on their platform.
They know very well that Tinubu will win the SS hands down and by trying to force GEJ back into the ring, they hope to have those votes split between GEJ and Tinubu.
Note that the Turaki faction is not interested in anyway of producing a winning candidate for the PDP in 2027 but are working for the emergence of Atiku.
They know very well that the SW, NC and SS are solidly behind Tinubu.
They just want to weaken the support in the SS so that Atiku might emerge winner from just winning the NW and NE marginally .
Obi no dey game .
Obi on the race automatically disenfranchised the entire SE who will vote their tribal champion.
The decider remains the SS which has swung heavily towards Tinubu. Guy! That is a big fat lies and misconception. In 2023 Presidential election what happened in the South-South? No impact, P. Obi won Delta, Edo, and you know what happened in Rivers, unless you want to do the "Ostrich", however at the fullness of time, we will get the gist. So, O'boy no level for APC in SS. |
Politics › Re: Fear Of Being Deregistered By INEC Saw NDC Opting For Boardroom Selection by isio1: 8:35am On May 27 |
FSBoperator: National Dickson Congress aka NDC were not able to sell 80% of their forms for all elective slots in the next general elections.
The party had postponed their deadline for purchase and submission of nomination forms on two occasions and after failing to get most of their slots filled, Dickson and co began handing out their forms for free.
This saw to the NDC opting out of direct Primaries and settling for "consensus" candidates handpicked by Dickson and co in his parlour.
The deadline set by INEC to submit list of all successful candidates is May 30th.
Failing to do so would see INEC having no choice than to automatically deregister NDC as a political party as they will not have the national spread going into the elections .
This is the reason Dickson alongside Giringori and co began handing out forms for free and opted out for primaries nationwide.
However, the party isn't out of the woods yet.
With no real serious candidate, the NDC will lose woefully next year and this will set them up for fresh review by INEC on their eligibility to still be recognised as a political party. I know how you feel, don't worry much you will be fine. How can you be this worried on issues that doesn't concerns you. Wow |

Saturnalia: Ofcourse! Tinubu and Obi can never be the same.
Lagos State and Anambra were governed by both of them and even the blind knows which one people are flooding into daily.
In every week, even your Obi spends 6 days in Lagos and a day in his home State of Anambra for fear of being kidnapped & roasted like Boli.
I keep telling my friends and family that the “Devil” that I know is better to me than the Angel Michael of Biafra” that I do not know. If you ignorantly say you don't know why people are flooding Lagos, then you must be kidding. Lagos, is not just a State, Lagos was a "Federal Capital" where Nigerian investments and moneys are centered on. So it is bound to be flooded with all manners of human. So therefore every Nigerian would want to get a bite of the cherry QED. |

TimeManager: Opposition rejoiced too quickly, Lol. The Appeal Court is going to throw the earlier ruling of the federal high court into the dustbin. And as I can remember, it was the same opposition led by Atiku Abubakar that first came out to accuse INEC of scheduling the election which would clash with the period of Ramadan. So, why are the opposition now crying after the Senate and INEC had done the needful?. Opposition are inconsistent bunch, they say one thing today and change the goal post tomorrow. I was amazed seeing them hailing the court yesterday. The same court they say was in the pocket of Tinubu.. clowns.

WizardOfNG: I stand to be corrected but I am yet to see confirmation of Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso commending Nigeria and the PBAT government for the take down of ISIS second in command on Nigerian soul.
Additionally, I don't believe the 3 wannabe Presidents have said anything about the successful Nigeria-us Joint Airstrikes that Killed 175 ISIS Fighters.
Is this how to play politics? How can the fans of these guys justify continuing to support their aspiration?
Accuse Tinubu of anything but he always shows up to support what is in the bigger interest of Nigeria.
Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso will make noise when a pin drops and highlight problems. Yet they are graveyard silent over successes recorded against terrorists.
Nigerians, put your thinking cap on. PBAT 2027. The way forward. 😎 For justification purposes, please just flash a snippet or photos of the 175 ISIS Fighters that the Nigeria-US Joint Airstrikes Killed. Because we have passed through this route before in 2024. |

Current democracy we practicing is too expensive.
What do we even need a bicameral legislature for? Legislators should be working part time.
We should go back to parliamentary system of government.
We should a create a new constitution with stiffer penalties for corruption. Who is going to create or initiate the stiffer penalties? Is it this Akpabio's 10th Assembly or this APC Government? Guy forget it, it can never happen. A Government of self interest, greed, megalomaniacs and sadists is what you are relying on? Otilo |
