InvestmentRe: National Reading Culture (NRC) Crashes by isio1: 10:34am On Jul 08
nlfpmod:
The "National Reading Culture (NRC)" was a task-based "read-and-earn" platform targeting Nigerians with promises of daily income for reading digital novels.

However, investigations confirm that NRC has crashed, leaving thousands of investors unable to withdraw their funds.

The Operation: Users were required to pay "VIP level" registration deposits (ranging from ₦18,900 to ₦174,000) and complete simple reading tasks daily to earn supposedly high, guaranteed returns.

The Outcome: The site unexpectedly shut down and operators vanished, leading to the loss of billions of naira for users.

Honestly the cheapest marriage in the whole of Nigeria ought to be that of urhobo.
The bride price of the Urhuobo's, especially the Delta Central is so cheap that with less than N300,000 - N500,000 you are done.

Reception Party after the traditional marriage rites is at your discretion, not a task. The father and mother clothings are just the most costly items on the list.

Ofunaofu:
Defence Minister Christopher Musa has urged Nigerian youths to take the lead in tackling insecurity, saying security agencies alone cannot solve the country’s challenges.
Christopher Musa says Nigerian youths must play a leading role in tackling insecurity.

He stressed that security is a collective responsibility, not the duty of security agencies alone.

The minister urged youths to support security efforts through vigilance, innovation and community engagement.

Musa said empowering young people is key to addressing the root causes of insecurity.

The Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, has challenged Nigerian youths to take a leading role in the fight against insecurity, saying lasting peace and stability cannot be achieved by security agencies alone.

Musa made the call while addressing young Nigerians at a public event, where he stressed that the country’s youth population remains its greatest asset and must be actively involved in efforts to tackle security challenges affecting communities across the nation.

According to the minister, insecurity has continued to pose a major threat to national development, with issues such as banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and other criminal activities affecting lives and livelihoods in different parts of the country.

He said young people have a critical role to play because they are often closest to their communities and are well-positioned to identify suspicious activities and share useful information with relevant authorities.

Musa emphasised that security should not be viewed solely as the responsibility of the military, police and other security agencies, noting that every citizen has a role to play in protecting the country.

The defence minister urged youths to embrace patriotism, community service and civic responsibility, adding that greater collaboration between citizens and security agencies would help strengthen efforts to address security threats.

He also encouraged young Nigerians to use technology, innovation and social networks positively in supporting national security objectives rather than allowing such platforms to be exploited by criminals and those seeking to destabilise society.

According to him, meaningful youth engagement remains one of the most effective ways to address the root causes of insecurity, including unemployment, social exclusion and vulnerability to criminal recruitment.

Musa further stated that empowering young people through education, skills development and economic opportunities would help reduce crime and create a more stable society.

The minister reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to improving security across the country but stressed that government efforts alone would not be sufficient without the support and participation of citizens.

His comments come as Nigeria continues to battle various security challenges in several regions, prompting renewed discussions on the need for a whole-of-society approach to tackling insecurity.

The defence minister maintained that with the energy, creativity and numerical strength of Nigerian youths, the country possesses the human resources needed to overcome many of its security challenges if properly mobilised.

He therefore called on young Nigerians to rise above divisions and contribute actively to building safer communities and a more secure nation.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Senators Insist On Real-time Electronic Results Transfers/transmission. by isio1: 9:27am On May 31
PresidentMUGABE:
Frustrated Nigerian Senators Makes U-turn Insist On Mandatory Electronic Transmission Of Result After APC Denied Them Ticket

It is no longer hidden that Nigerian Senators are currently agitating for mandatory transmission of election result from poling units to INEC server. These were the same people who few months ago stood on the failed APC mandate and said mandatory transmission of election result is optional.

The simple question is why the turn around now after they have lost their primary election. The Senate’s sudden passion for mandatory electronic transmission of election results did not come from love for democracy alone. No. Politics is rarely that innocent.

What changed was simple: the game turned against the players (The National Assembly) who thought they controlled it.Many lawmakers supported rigid party rules and executive backed electoral arrangements because they believed they had secured automatic return tickets. They trusted the system, until the same machinery began quietly replacing them with preferred candidates during the APC primaries.

That was the shock. The senators suddenly realized something dangerous: the political structure they helped strengthen could also be used to politically bury them. And once survival entered the conversation, transparency became attractive.

As our elders say, “The trap a man sets for another may eventually catch his own leg.”By insisting on compulsory electronic transmission without loopholes, lawmakers are no longer fighting for ideology; they are fighting to prevent party machinery from manufacturing outcomes behind closed doors.

In simple terms, many of them now understand that if elections must be won, then votes must genuinely count. The irony is powerful: those who benefited from the old system are now helping dismantle it because the system has finally turned against them.

Politics has a strange way of teaching people the value of fairness.
Una never see anything.
They (NASS) thought they were dealing with the masses (General public) by signing into law, the electoral act 2026 irrespective of the public outright reject from Nigerians. Now, they have been cornered by the Executive. No going back, you must get the taste of what you cooked. Connyman die Connyman bury am, "1-1 goalless draw". Lol
PoliticsRe: 70% Rejection Of Tinubu And APC By National Polls. by isio1: 9:13am On May 31
Ofunaofu:
The mistake you will ever make is comparing Buhari to Tinubu as if they are politically equivalent.

Buhari and Tinubu are not the same. Before becoming president, Buhari had a tested and consistent political base of roughly 10–12 million loyal votes across multiple election cycles. Whether you liked him or not, his popularity was organic and undeniable.

Tinubu, on the other hand, has never demonstrated anything close to that level of independent electoral strength. His political relevance has largely depended on party structures, governors, incumbency advantages, and state machinery. Strip away those structures and it's difficult to point to a massive personal voting bloc comparable to Buhari's.

As for online polls, nobody is claiming they determine election results. They simply reflect public sentiment and approval at a given moment. The fact that Tinubu and the APC are recording rejection rates of this magnitude should concern any serious political observer rather than be dismissed with jokes.

On performance. Buhari was heavily criticized for insecurity, economic challenges, and governance failures. Yet Tinubu inherit those problems, instead of making live easier for Nigerians, he ended up making life harder for Nigerians through removal of subsidy on fuel and electricity, soaring inflation, a collapsing cost of living, and worsening economic hardship. And worst of it, an insecurity level never witnessed in the history of this country. If Buhari underperformed, Tinubu's record so far is a catastrophe.

The biggest mistake anyone can make heading into 2027 is assuming that because Buhari survived public criticism, Tinubu will automatically enjoy the same political resilience. Buhari had a bankable personal following. Tinubu does not. Those are two very different political realities.
Apt.
There's nothing more to add.
