@9ja_voice. Sorry I'm just replying, unavoidable circumstances. You see, let me explain a little about northern culture to you. The hausa/fulani culture is intricately tied with the Islamic culture such that it is difficult to discern which is which. It is this "complexity" which creates room for a.) Shady clerics e.t.c to manipulate minds b.) Misplacement of blame. How do you say "please" in Hausa? -- "Dan Allah", literally meaning "Because of God". Now should a person be a Muslim or Christain, he/she would STILL say "Dan Allah" as please. Now tell me, anyone who says "Dan Allah" is a "disgrace to Islamic world? For being Hausa/Fulani? That's like saying Africans should not go to the US because they (the US) are KKK. And No. Muslim fanatics do not "ALWAYS kill other's to prove it". There are many many "fanatics" who go around reading as with all envoys for people of faith. you said ", folks coming here to find us fault why not go and train your brother's, " come where 9ja_voice? NL? it's not for northerners? or your personal space? your house?. Let's think about our words and try to make sense to each other. I am CERTAIN this forum is not for blame-games or name calling. or even to deepen the national divide in our country. your comments so far have been laced to the brim with excessive generalization. But permit me to ask, have you ever lived in say,Kano? I'd like to know your comments are not informed by hearsay or your own extrapolations of events. To come to such a highly rated forum and make assertions, you need to be backed by sincere, unbiased, thorough and objective information. Listen, I know a fellow, Kola. He's from Lagos, served (NYSC) in Kano and simply never left. Last I saw him, he had moved to Kano because he personally felt Kano was the better place for him. HE MOVED TO KANO FROM LAGOS. When I first met him he asked me "is it true if you talk to a girl you will receive lashes?". I was astounded at how anyone could think our society is that primitive. But when I got to know Kola, I discovered that our divide is almost entirely based on our lack of knowledge about the life and ways of our counterparts. I won't be naive or in denial, yes, there are flashpoints. But your generalization is very wrong and misinformed. Kola lives perfectly well in the North without fear for his life or about his religion. If what you say is completely true, Kola would not be able to live in North. I hope you are well. |
@samparian. , put on hold because of the recent activities in the north, , first hand religious riots in the north,Can you please elaborate? recent activites? Please, I would like to know what you are referring to. When did the sharia uprising start? There is no sharia uprising, there are unscrupulous elements in our society. @9ja_voice dear 9ja_voice, Yes. Egyptians are fighting for the good of their country. That has been objectively proven in plain sight for everyone to see. Their fight is with government. Please don't twist that. Secondly, How can anyone think Mubarak is an Israeli, it is not something you convert to. You either are or are not. How can people come out in millions and state their case only for us to come to this forum and say They want a president who will be a western(christians) and Isreal period enemy,You see, they say a single bad thing travels faster than 1,000 good things. I would like to have a decent conversation with you about our country and our religions. It seems to me you are all about "Islam is demonic". Is that so that you've made up your own mind with distorted facts? or shall I speak? |
This thread, I believe, was posted here to demonstrate to the Nigerian community as a whole the power of unity and setting aside of differences. It is not news that Nigeria is split bitterly across both religious and ethnical lines. Let me recap a few of the comments this thread has illicited, , but the muslim fanaticts will just slit your throat if you turn your back Christian can let go of anything to uphold their believe and obey God's command that says thou shall not kill but Muslims, i doubt , it can in the south. but in the north, The Southern muslims are not different from christians in thinking and manners while the northern one are the ones who should have a re-think. I believe this can happen in southern Nigeria but in the North? No way!!! it can happen in Nigeria Christians can keep watch over muslims to do their things but muslims can burn up christians doing their own thing.I am a northerner, I am a Muslim. Please allow me a moment to observe the strong antagonistic rhetoric against the north and muslims as a whole. It exists on this forum, I'm sure everyone has their reasons though. Should a day come when I stand with my christain/yoruba/igbo brothers. I shall protect your right not only to pray but to stand, to speak, most especially to live. I will. It hurts me to read the comments on this thread and see how easily the essence of the thread has been digressed. With the rhetoric on this forum, if a yoruba boy and a hausa boy have a fight (as young men do) over small inconsequential issues, what do you think such a rhetoric would breed if one of these boys is seriously injured or even killed. Let me tell you, the case will transcend a simple issue of "Where is my book?". We all know what it can become. So please let's use this forum to make tangible progress in uniting our nation and progressing to our true potentials and whether you want to hear it or not, I love you all. actually I'm not building up a cyber cafe software but breaking it down. I like to see how much of a program I can replicate without seeing the codes. the codes provided above do just what the software does, what I want is to be able to detect a download, reroute it and scan it with an antivirus and THEN send the file back to the intended destination. |
Well thanks all, but apparently there's no clean way out of my problem.I'm going to try and get the Server to close and reload the socket the client was using when it went down and do the same for the client. by the way, Omo Olooto, it's VB6. And on another note, who knows how to detect (using vb of course!) when a print job has been sent locally and when a download has been initiated. ![]() |
well, i also know visual basic and I have come across a lot of glitches since I started using vb. But I would like to know if you know about the WINSOCK reconnection error. I've written a couple of Server-Client programs. When the server abruptly disconnects and comes back on ( NEPA!) the clients have problems reconnecting. I would appreciate any help I could get Isma |
