TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by isogee: 6:12pm On Sep 11, 2025
After the home office/embassy sent me an email that they couldn't verify my bank statement, I came to this platform and I was advised to speak to the manager of the bank, I did that and went to the head office of the bank, they checked their system and told me they haven't received anything from the home office/ embassy. They advised me to send an updated version of the bank statement. I sent the same bank statement again, After 3 weeks of waiting, today I received an email that visa is approved. Thank you all for your advised.

The bank statement is genuine, UK home office aren't stupid, if its fake they would have issued a refusal letter and a ban, Ecobank is international bank and a big bank too and easy to contact. The letter said Ecobank has not responded to their email. I think I have to find a way for ecobank to respond to their email.

I made application on behalf of my sister 2 year old daughter. Decision was supposed to come last week friday but never came. I contacted UKVI on moday and they reply to me on tuesday saying ‘All actions on your application is now complete and you case is closed’. I replied and told them I am yet to receive any update about the application. They told me to wait 10 working day for VAC to contact me. Today I received an email from UKVI saying ‘ I can confirm that your application is void and your passport will be send to you immediately.
guys I am confused. what is the meaning of ‘void application’

FrontPageLawyer:
There is no way a civil servant with 57k salary will receive a visa if he/she presents a statement of account with closing balance of N10m without properly demonstrating the source of funds.

The UKBA lay so much emphasis on how incomes are generated and applicants are selected randomly for visa interview, therefore if you do not support your application with paper evidence, how then do you explain to the ECO how funds in your account were generated?

It has been said severally on this thread that ALL sources of funds must be properly demonstrated and it's only through paper evidence since you're unlikely to be interviewed.

The poster's application was rejected because he/she failed to demonstrate that his/her employment/business that generates the stated income is substantial enough to bring him/her back to Ghana or neither was the ECO satisfied that the employment/business is subsisting and generates the said income.

In a nutshell poster was punished for money lodgement.
these money in my account are not saved for only a month or 6months, I started savings over 4yrs ....I have bn at this job for over 4yrs. I dont do any other work apart from this. I am accountant and I barely touch my salary bcoz, I dont pay rent, lunch is given free at work and I dont have any dependent...I dont understand the VO
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by isogee: 2:17pm On Jan 14, 2016
justwise:
It simply means that you can not afford the trip and the VO doesn't believe that the money found in your account is from your salary earnings.

Basically you borrowed money from elsewhere to boast your bank balance.
if I borrowed money from else where it will be money lodgement of which the VO will raised. these are money I have saved over 4yrs.

Before explaining kindly answer these two questions:
1. How did you come about the £3900 account balance ? Was it deposited at once or saved over time from your salary?
2. What is your travel history like ? Have you been to the UK or any other first world country recently
I have bn at my post for 4yrs...It is saved over 4yrs since I started work..
I presented 1yr bank statements
I v never travelled

I would tell here not to make up lies that could get her banned.
I would tell here to make plans for Christmas at home.
Lool...wat about future application...does it mean ur sis is not going to apply for uk vusa again

Why not just say the truth and if they allow it, all well and good. If it is refused, you know that it was due to doing the right thing. What if you lie and it is still refused?
The truth is she stayed in the UK for 3months instead of the 1month she stated on her application (NOTE: SHE DID NOT OVERSTAY HER 6MONTH VISA. But she has been told to provide reasons why she stayed for that long... Remember she is still at post in the same company.. She wasn't fired from her job
If she was to be ur sis wat will you do

So it took the good Samaritan 2 months plus to return her passport? Why did she not get a TC from Nigerian embassy in London to travel back? She will only be digging herself into more problem with these web of lies.
Then I think my sister cant make it to the UK again..bcoz there is no way she can convince the VO with this kinda of refusal...
Thanks u all for ya advice
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by isogee: 5:40pm On Dec 02, 2015

Unbelievable! A bank is ready to do that? Their credibility is on the line here, extended 3 months leave to visit the UK? Not on medical ground or study leave? Do you really expect the embassy to believe that? So what were she doing during that 3 months in the UK? That is what she needs to explain and not cooking up stories. I can't coach somebody how to tell such porkies.
She wasnt doing anyfn special...the truth is she decided not to return initially but changed her mind and came...
Story:
'she lost her handbag that contains her passport but a good Samaritan fond it but unfortunate for her that good Samaritan couldnt return de passport early as expected bcoz that good Samaritan has some issues beyond her control, she didnt inform the police because she already knows where the passport and other documents was..Bcoz she cant travel without her passport she explained the situation to her employers and because she has serve the company for more than 10yrs the company granted her further leave without pay to solve the problem. and during all these period in the UK she was been supported by her auntie who invited her to the UK.

So her company wants her to make up a story (LIES) so they can give her a fake excuse!
This story is starting to sound strange. angry angry
Have you told the truth about her? Was she deported, or banned from the UK?
What was said when they told her about the overstay?
She wasn't deported...she was given 6months visa. She spent 3months in the uk... But she was refused because she stayed more than the days she stated on her application and didnt give explaination as to why she spent 3months and how she was bn supported..she wasnt ban....
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by isogee: 12:28pm On Dec 01, 2015

That is the problem because its difficult to explain how a full time bank worker spent 3months in the UK leaving her job in Nigeria and still retain that job after returning back to Nigeria, there is no leave that lasted 3months. If she was sick then she will be expected to provide evidence to back that up.
Her employers are ready to provide a backdated letter to confirm that they granted her extention of leave without pay...but they have told her to bring up a story as to why she stayed more before they provide her with such letter and they have advice her to explain same story in her application...
Now the problem is what kind of story can she create to free herself...

Honestly i don't know, she is the only one that can answer that, was she working or running her own business when she made that application?
yeah she was and still a full time banker

Pls justwise whats the best explaination to give to the VO...I had the same problem on my third visa application but my situation was different bcoz I lost my passport on my 2nd visit so I used that as an excuse and provided police report from UK for that claim moreover place of issue in my passport was London so it didnt creat any problem and gt my 2yrs visa...
But my sisters own is different:

helloo Justwise and Co:
the forum has helped me alot....I am a silent reader here. I have been granted UK visa 3 times with the help of this forum.. I'm currently in the UK, I applied for UK family visitors visa for my sister, but she was refused, she has been in the UK before but she was refused on her 2nd visa application, the reason for the refusal was that:
she stayed in the UK more than the number of days she stated on her previous application and she never stated any reason why she stayed and how she was been supported whiles in the UK. My sister stayed for 3months but in her application she stated 1month. she plan to come to the uk again this christmas, my question is how will I correct that QUESTION raised by the visa officer.

hi,
I have follow this trend for about 1yr now, I want to share with you my success story
I applied for a UK visa for the first time in 2011 and I was refused. The reason is I didn't add evidence of my parent employment. I was given full right of appeal and I got the visa in about 6months time. I went to the UK and came back. I applied for it again in 2012 and I got it straight away. for all the two previous application I was a student. I graduated from school last yr June. I wanted to apply again but I didnt have any school document to apply for. I came to this trend and I followed series of questions and answer and I took a decision. I planned my application this year may. I applied for a professional course in one of the professional institution accredited by Ghana Education sevice and ICM- UK. I was doing a post graduate diploma in management. Though I went to the school for the sake of my visa application not for the certificate. another thing I planned was my bank statement. I made deposit into my application at the end of every month using my dad name us depositor. Now the time came for me to make the application but one thing was the course was six months course. I went to see the admistrator to give me introductory letter and state in the intro letter that I am doing 2yr course. He did that for me. I applied for the visa just last week thurday, with my uncles invitation document, I added my father document, plus my school document ( receipt, id card, transcript, intro letter) and I added my personal statement to it. In the application I stated in the additional information that my father support me on daily basis, by depositing money into my account. I got my visa yesterday. This trend has helped me alot. Thanks guys.

@bestfrost835
In 20011 I was refusef visa on the same grounds but I file for appeal and stated in my appeal that my uncle support me in school and I am a full time student. I recieve money in cash from my uncle any time I ask for. I recieved lots of letters from the tribunal but I never repplied them. In six months time the embassy called and told me they have overturn my decision and that I should bring my passport for the visa. To cut it short I have been issued uk visa 3 times. In all my applications I jux explained to the visa officer that I am a full time student and that my uncle is responsible for my daily upkeep. state also that your uncle give you money in cash. I think with that you will be ok.

Sorry bro, I will tick student, and please tell me how the further addition should contain. I mean the explanation I have to give in order to convince them.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by isogee: 12:14pm On Aug 25, 2013
@vicjustice
Well I will just find out if my school will give me a letter. because I don't think its appropriate to tick a student without any letter from the school. or can I tick student without a letter from the school? or what do you think the explanation should contain? I mean what I should write in order for them to understand my situation. thanks
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by isogee: 12:55am On Aug 25, 2013
@vicjust:
You said my post graduate service is academical, so, I can still claim to be a student.
Do you think my school will give me introductory letter, since I have graduated and doing my national service. aBecause my student ID card expired in June 2013 and more over my admission letter stated my program is 4yeears starting from August 2009 to June 2013. I am scared to state am a student.

I have been following this post for sometime now. I am from Ghana. but needs a little advice. I have visited the uk on two occassion with two separate visa both family visit. 2011 and 2012, on my last visit I lost my passport whiles in the uk, and I got a new one from the ghana high commission in london. I wish to apply for a new visa, I have got the invitation from my uncle. My question is
1. I wanted to travel this summer but school will be reopen very soon, can I used used the same invitation I have now to apply for winter?
2. I just graduated from school and awaiting for my posting for the National Service what document will I need wen applying in winter?
3. Can I say state I am still a student since I v not get my certificate because I have a trailed paper to write?
4. Should I add the police report I got from the police station in london to the application?
