Sports / David Luiz 'could Leave Chelsea In January', Says Steve Bates by itzblessed: 8:01pm On Dec 17, 2017
David Luiz could leave Chelsea in the January transfer window as the fall-out from his bust-up with Antonio Conte continues, Sunday People Chief Football Writer Steve Bates told Sunday Supplement.
Luiz and Conte were involved in an altercation following Chelsea's 3-0 defeat away at Roma in the Champions League in October, and the Brazilian hasn't featured in the league since with Andreas Christensen lining up in the centre of the team's defensive three while Luiz reportedly recovers from a knee injury.
"At his press conference on Friday he was at pains to point out that this knee injury is genuine," said Bates. "I had no reason to believe it's not.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
Sports / Cristiano Ronaldo's Free-kick Crowns Real Club World Cup Champions by itzblessed: 10:16pm On Dec 16, 2017
Cristiano Ronaldo's goal saw Real Madrid crowned champions of the Club World Cup for a record-equaling third time as they defeated Brazilian side Gremio 1-0.
In a game lacking in chances, a signature Ronaldo free-kick from 30-yards gave the La Liga champions the lead eight minutes into the second half.
Luka Modric came within inches of doubling the score for the Champions League holders in the 65th minute as his low 25-yard drive was tipped on to the post by Marcelo Grohe.
The win sees Madrid become the first side to win back-to-back CWC titles and ensure the trophy heads back to Spain for a fourth consecutive year.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
Sports / Man City 4-1 Tottenham: Unbeaten Leaders Breeze Past Spurs by itzblessed: 10:04pm On Dec 16, 2017
Goals from Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne and two from Raheem Sterling gave Man City a 4-1 win over Tottenham to extend their historic winning run to 16 Premier League matches.
Gundogan headed home the opener from a Leroy Sane corner on 14 minutes after the hosts had seen off early Spurs possession and begun to dominate the game.
De Bruyne's fierce strike on the breakaway ended a Spurs resurgence after the interval and Sterling twice tapped home from close range after missing an open goal from Gabriel Jesus penalty that struck the post.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
Sports / Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo 'happy And Proud' After Recent Achievements by itzblessed: 9:23am On Dec 16, 2017
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken of his "pride" in recent individual achievements, including a fifth career Ballon d'Or trophy and becoming the leading scorer in Club World Cup history.
Earlier this month, Ronaldo equalled Barcelona's Lionel Messi by winning it for a fifth time, having recently also picked up the FIFA The Best prize for 2017 for a second consecutive year.
On Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, the Portugal captain scored his sixth goal in six games in the Club World Cup with the equaliser in the 2-1 win over Al-Jazira, moving ahead of Messi, Barca's Luis Suarez and ex-Monterrey forward Cesar Delgado, who have all found the net five times in the competition.
Speaking to RMTV from Abu Dhabi, the 32-year-old former Manchester United man said: "I am very happy and proud, first of all for my football career, principally at Real Madrid.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
Sports / Arsene Wenger Plays Down Arsenal's Bad Starts, Blasts Saints Time-wasting by itzblessed: 8:26pm On Dec 10, 2017
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he does not want to make an issue of the team's recent bad starts as it could affect the confidence of the players, and accused Southampton of time-wasting after the 1-1 draw at St Mary's on Sunday.
Arsenal repeated their poor start from last week against Manchester United as Per Mertesacker gave the ball away after just three minutes, setting up a quick attack for Southampton that was finished off by Charlie Austin.
The Gunners struggled to create chances for much of the game until substitute Olivier Giroud headed home an equaliser in the 88th minute, but his side still remain outside the Premier League's top four.
Arsenal conceded two similar goals in the first 11 minutes in the 3-1 loss to United last weekend, and Wenger admitted that may have had an effect on his players.
"I felt that we played with an excellent spirit," Wenger told BT Sport. "But in the last two weeks, unfortunately we dropped points in the last two games for bad starts -- we are caught straight away. And after, it's difficult.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
Sports / Man City Go 11 Points Clear After Capitalising On Man United Errors by itzblessed: 8:19pm On Dec 10, 2017
Three thoughts on Manchester City's 2-1 win vs. Manchester United in the Premier League.
1. City take derby spoils, go 11 points clear
Manchester City took a huge stride towards the Premier League title by ending Manchester United's 40-game unbeaten run at Old Trafford.
Goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi, either side of Marcus Rashford's equaliser, also secured a 14th successive league win for Pep Guardiola's side, equalling the record previously set by Arsenal.
A late double save by City goalkeeper Ederson, to deny Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata, ensured victory but the winning margin does not tell the story of City's dominance over their neighbours.
For long periods, United could not get a foothold, with City retaining possession and forcing the home side to hit long, aimless balls to Lukaku. Rashford's strike shortly before half-time gave United hope of an unlikely win but Otamendi's goal, following a defensive mistake by Lukaku, kept them firmly in control of the game.
Having gone unbeaten in the league this season, it will now take an incredible collapse by City for the chasing pack to have any hope of catching them. And with a trip to Swansea on Wednesday, Arsenal's record will be erased from the record books with another win.
Such is City's form that another Gunners achievement could be under threat; Guardiola's team are in with a genuine chance of going through a league season unbeaten, as Arsene Wenger's "Invincibles" did in 2003-04.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com

Sports / Napoli Spurn Chance To Go Top Of Serie A With Home Draw Vs. Fiorentina by itzblessed: 8:09pm On Dec 10, 2017
Napoli missed the opportunity to return to the top of the Serie A table as they were held to a goalless home draw by Fiorentina.
After leaders Inter Milan and third-placed Juventus shared the same scoreline on Saturday evening, a win for Napoli would have seen them leapfrog Inter but they could not make a breakthrough against a dogged Fiorentina team.
The visitors actually had the best chances. Giovanni Simeone had the ball in the net but his effort was ruled out for offside before the Argentinian then squandered a one-on-one chance.
Roma were unable to find a way past an inspired Stefano Sorrentino as they were held to a goalless draw at Chievo.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
Sports / PSG Rebound From Back-to-back Losses With Win Over Lille by itzblessed: 11:29pm On Dec 09, 2017
Runaway Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain got back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over struggling Lille.
By PSG's standards, the club have endured a torrid week, suffering their first defeat in any competition this season to Strasbourg last weekend and then losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
It was the first time since December 2014 that PSG had lost back-to-back matches -- although it was hardly a crisis given they won their Champions League group and stayed nine points clear of the domestic competition.
They never really looked like slipping to a third straight loss. Angel Di Maria put the hosts ahead in the 28th minute and Javier Pastore doubled their advantage four minutes after the break.
Anwar El Ghazi created the possibility of an exciting finish by pulling one back for Lille four minutes from time but Kylian Mbappe grabbed a very late third for PSG.
Lille went into the clash having won two straight matches under their interim management quartet of Joao Sacramento, Fernando Da Cruz, Benoit Delaval and Franck Mantaux, who have been in charge since Marcelo Bielsa was suspended by the club last month.... <<< read more>>> @ www.galatixnews.com
Sports / Borussia Dortmund Set To Sack Peter Bosz Amid Slump - Reports by itzblessed: 11:19pm On Dec 09, 2017
Borussia Dortmund plan to announce the sacking of coach Peter Bosz on Sunday, Sport Bild and other German news outlets reported, after the spiralling club lost at home to Werder Bremen on Saturday.
The result extended the Black and Yellows' winless streak to eight games in the Bundesliga dating to September, in which time they've fallen from first to seventh place while losing 18 points to league leaders Bayern Munich.
Bosz had described Saturday's match against 17th-placed Bremen as a "must-win," and after suffering a 2-1 defeat, he will pay the price with his job, according to Bild.
Bosz, 54, was hired in June after helping Ajax reach the Europa League final and finish second in the Eredivisie.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
Sports / Chelsea Must Avoid Complacency And Take Their Chances Against West Ham by itzblessed: 9:23pm On Dec 08, 2017
Chelsea and West Ham United kick off the weekend's round of Premier League fixtures with what has the potential to be a feisty Saturday lunchtime derby at the London Stadium.
The Blues, in a rich vein of domestic form, have won six of their past seven top-flight games and victory against the Hammers would pull them level on points with second-place Manchester United, who host table-topping neighbours Man City the following day. By stark contrast, West Ham, one point off the basement, are entrenched in a relegation battle and are yet to win under new manager David Moyes.
At face value then, the result should be a foregone conclusion with Antonio Conte's side coasting to three easy points -- but complacency would be ill-advised.
Moyes will be desperate to prove his worth to his new club and Chelsea have already faced a similar situation before this season when they made another short journey across London in September, this time to play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Palace went into that game pointless and goalless with manager Roy Hodgson having failed to make an impression since taking over from Frank de Boer, who had been sacked just four league games into the campaign. The Eagles put on a committed display, outfought the Blues and deservedly won 2-1.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com

Sports / Man City Keeper Ederson As Important As David De Gea Is For Man United by itzblessed: 12:20pm On Dec 08, 2017
It was Ederson's mistake when conceding the second goal in Manchester City's 2-1 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday, which underlined the impact that the Brazilian goalkeeper has made since arriving at the club during the summer.
The 24-year-old marked his debut against Manchester United, during an International Champions Cup friendly in Houston in July, by making an almost identical error of judgement which led to Romelu Lukaku's goal in the NRG Stadium, prompting suggestions that Pep Guardiola had made another bad call (after Claudio Bravo) in identifying a No. 1 goalkeeper.
Yet in between Houston and Wednesday night in Ukraine, the £35 million signing from Benfica has been hugely impressive for City and, in many ways, proved himself to be as crucial to Guardiola's team as David De Gea has become across town at United.
For all the focus on the attacking talent and star quality of each squad, it is arguably the two goalkeepers who make the difference for City and United.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com

Sports / Chelsea's Inconsistent UCL Efforts Create Reasons For Hope And Concern by itzblessed: 11:39am On Dec 08, 2017
It's difficult to know how to judge Chelsea's Champions League campaign so far this season.

On the one hand, there must be a reasonable amount of satisfaction with qualifying for the knockout stages -- especially after being given a tough draw in Group C. Although seeded as champions of England, Chelsea were handed Atletico Madrid and Roma; one a finalist twice in the past four years and the other a Serie A powerhouse stacked with talented footballers. And there were the supposed whipping boys of the group, Qarabag of Azerbaijan.
But having got off to a dream start by securing maximum points from their first two games including an historic 2-1 win away to Atletico, finishing second while only accruing a further five points from their subsequent four matches carries with it a tinge of disappointment. The chance to really make a statement after a year's absence from Europe's top table was missed despite that eye-catching victory at the new Wanda Metropolitano.... <<<read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com

Sports / Mourinho Insists Danny Rose's Attack On Tottenham Had Nothing To Do With Him by itzblessed: 7:43am On Aug 13, 2017
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has admitted reading Danny Rose's explosive interview in which he complained about Tottenham's lack of ambition but cheekily quipped he didn't put the defender up to it.
Mourinho has been linked with 27-year-old Rose who comes from Yorkshire and has said he would like to return to the north to play.
But with a glint in his eye, the United boss said he wasn't going to publicly agitate to get Rose to Old Trafford because he didn't want to upset Spurs chairman Daniel Levy or manager Mauricio Pochettino.
'I should not comment because Mauricio would not be happy if I comment, Mr Levy would not be happy if I comment and because I had nothing to do with that interview,' he said.
'I just read it the way you did, I just read but Danny Rose is a Spurs player and it is not my problem at all.'... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
Sports / Man Utd Legend Ince Suggests Mourinho's Transfer Business Has Been Overplayed by itzblessed: 7:43pm On Aug 12, 2017
The Red Devils have brought in Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic, but a former star believes a new-look side will take time to settle

Jose Mourinho has improved Manchester United, but Paul Ince believes the value of his transfer deals has been overplayed.
The Red Devils have spent big once again this summer bringing in Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic.
Ince believes the fresh faces will provide a return on sizeable investment in time, but is not convinced that United have surged ahead of their Premier League rivals – as has been suggested by others.
The former Red Devils midfielder told Paddy Power: "Some people have said that they can’t believe Chelsea let Matic go to United, and that they’ve handed them the title, but I don’t see that.
"Towards the back end of last season, he couldn’t get in their team. So I don’t think he’ll be a huge loss to them.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com

Romance / Facts About Sex And Ageing by itzblessed: 9:31am On Aug 11, 2017
A newly remarried man told a team of researchers that he is thankful for his wife's "freedom from inhibitions." Together, they discuss intimate aspects of their relationship. "Our new sexual activities and freedom to explore have been most satisfying," he says. What's startling about that? The man is 64; she's 54.

"When I look back on the sexual aspects of my marriage," says one wife, "I see a picture of gradual growth in sexual pleasures. There may still be new wonders to discover with my spouse." She's 60; he's 65. And they have been married for 36 years.

The general opinion in many societies has long been that older people have little or no interest in sex, and little or no capacity for it. Now the findings of a survey of 4,246 American men and women aged 50 to 93 - the largest such study ever made - explodes this myth. The survey shows that most people will, or could, remain sexually active into their 70s and beyond, and that the warmth, excitement and comfort of sexual love will still be important in these years. The survey was conducted in the US by a non-profit product-testing and consumer-information organization, Consumer Union, and is reported in Love, Sex, and Ageing.

The Cu report is full of surprises. The major one: "What is often called, 'the sexual revolution' is going on among older people right now." Today's older people are far more interested in sex, engage in more sexual activity, value it more highly and are freer in their choice of sexual practices than almost anyone but experts in sexuality and ageing had imagined.
