SportsConte Reveals Hands-off Transfer Approach by itzblessed(op): 7:23am On Jan 03, 2018
Antonio Conte has revealed that he will not be the one who decides which players Chelsea sign in the January transfer window and beyond.
The Premier League champions' preparations for the winter market were shaken in November by the surprise resignation of technical director Michael Emenalo, who had spent 10 years across the coaching and scouting departments at Stamford Bridge and acted as Conte's primary line of communication to the Chelsea hierarchy on recruitment strategy.

Chelsea insist Emenalo's departure has not caused too much disruption, with Conte now talking directly to club director and chief transfer negotiator Marina Granovskaia, though the process of replacing the Nigerian -- either directly with one individual or with a redistribution of his duties -- is not expected to be completed before the end of the season.
Conte was frustrated with Chelsea's troubled summer transfer dealings and has been vocal in recent weeks about his desire for improved squad depth in January, but the manager admitted that he is not involved in the recruitment of specific players.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
SportsManchester United's Jose Mourinho Hits Back At Paul Scholes Criticism by itzblessed(op): 4:21pm On Jan 02, 2018
Jose Mourinho has hit back at Paul Scholes over his negative comments towards Manchester United, saying "all he does is criticise" and he hopes he would be "25 per cent" as successful as him if he ever turns to management.

Former United midfielder Scholes, who now works as a pundit, said the players and the manager are "under-performing" after their 0-0 draw with Southampton, while also highlighting his concerns over the fitness and attitude of midfielder Paul Pogba.

And, after United returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Everton on New Year's Day, Mourinho responded to Scholes' comments.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com

SportsRyan Giggs Defends Managerial Aspirations by itzblessed(op): 11:54am On Dec 31, 2017
In the latest Super 6 Class of ’92 dairy, Ryan Giggs defends his managerial aspirations and says Manchester United should focus on trying to finish second behind Manchester City.

I did an interview last week about my managerial aspirations and received some criticism because apparently I wasn't willing to manage at a lower level.

I didn't say anything at all about not managing at a lower level; I said because of my experience, I'd be more suited coaching at the level which I previously played and coached.

My critic quoted Steven Gerrard saying, in his experience, footballers want to just do their UEFA C Licence and go straight into the job. I did my UEFA B Licence when I was 29, my A Licence when I was 35, my Pro Licence while I was still playing and I coached at Manchester United for three years - including managing four games - so I don't see the relevance.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
SportsMan Utd Punished By Craig Pawson's Bad Decision by itzblessed(op): 11:44am On Dec 31, 2017
Jose Mourinho complained that referee Craig Pawson's "bad" decision not to award Manchester United a penalty against Southampton "punished" his side.

During the 0-0 at Old Trafford, which left United in third place in the Premier League, Maya Yoshida seemingly handled in the penalty area, only for Pawson to deem it unintentional.

Mourinho's side failed to break down a Saints side who have won only once in 12 games, but the United boss complained that Pawson, along with other referees from recent games, punished the hosts.
Asked about Pawson's decision, Mourinho said: "A very good referee, one of the most promising young referees not just in England, but in Europe too, had a very bad decision that punished us.

"Then, the game was about us trying, missing some important chances, and always trying to create, always trying to play. I think we deserved to win the match.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
SportsMan Utd 0-0 Southampton: Lacklustre United Down To Third After Draw by itzblessed(op): 9:55pm On Dec 30, 2017
Manchester United are now without a win in four games in all competitions after being held to a 0-0 draw by Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.

Romelu Lukaku missed a good headed chance for the hosts early on before being taken off for a worrying head injury, while Saints had openings of their own at the other end as David de Gea saved well from James Ward-Prowse.

SportsMan Utd Boss Jose Mourinho Needs Director Of Football At Old Trafford, Says Andy by itzblessed(op): 8:58am On Dec 30, 2017
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho would benefit from having a director of football at Old Trafford, Andy Townsend told The Debate.

Speaking on Friday, Mourinho claimed United are finding it difficult to compete with Europe's elite because they cannot match their spending power.

The comments come days after Mourinho said the club must spend more to keep up with Premier League leaders Manchester City, despite the fact that he has spent around £319m since taking charge in 2016.

While Townsend believes it's a sign that Pep Guardiola has got under the Portuguese's skin, the former Aston Villa striker stressed that Mourinho needs assistance with his own transfer dealings.

"I wonder how much Guardiola gets under his skin and into his mind. Jose has won so many personal battles with managers in this country, but it looks like this one he loses more often than that," Townsend said.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
SportsJose Mourinho Aims Dig At Jurgen Klopp Over Virgil Van Dijk Deal by itzblessed(op): 5:44pm On Dec 29, 2017
Jose Mourinho has aimed a dig at Jurgen Klopp over Liverpool's decision to splash out to sign Virgil van Dijk by reminding him he was once critical of Manchester United's world-record move for Paul Pogba.

Van Dijk will join Liverpool from Southampton next month in a £75 million deal that will make him the most expensive defender ever.

It comes just 18 months after Klopp criticised Pogba's £89.3 million move to Old Trafford by saying he "would do it differently."

"If you bring one player in for £100m or whatever, and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney," Klopp said in July 2016. "Do I have to do it differently to that? Actually, I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money."... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
SportsThe Reasons Behind Man United's Foul Mood by itzblessed(op): 9:48pm On Dec 28, 2017
The December rage simmers on among Manchester United fans. It's not as febrile as two years ago when United lost four games on the bounce and went eight without a win as Louis van Gaal went past the point of no return in the eyes of the majority, but it's not great either.
First came the knockout blow from the defeat to Manchester City. Then the bloody noses from Bristol City, Leicester City and Burnley. It has been a very bad week for United and, with City over the hill and on their way to Pep Guardiola winning his first trophies at the club (Jose Mourinho has two in the same time at United), the mood isn't going to lift sometime soon. A January signing or two might help, but United won't be rushed into getting players who are the only ones available in this window.
Mourinho, as ever, is at the centre of the storm. Most United fans back him, plenty doubt him. Mourinho feels that many journalists, especially those in London who covered him at Chelsea, have it in for him. He's thought that long before the current downturn in results.
He can be confident that United fans will support him. He's only halfway into a three-year contract and he's made improvements. How big those improvements are start to be questioned when the team doesn't win. United are second against sixth a year ago and have 10 more points. That's still a considerable improvement.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
SportsFormer Real Madrid Star Angel Di Maria Edging Closer To Barcelona Move by itzblessed(op): 2:43pm On Dec 28, 2017

Barcelona are moving ahead with plans to sign Angel Di Maria, with the offer from last summer to Paris Saint-Germain still standing at €45 million and €15m in bonuses.
Sport reports that the Argentina international may join the exclusive club of players to have played for both Real Madrid and Barca by moving back to Spain next month.
After Kylian Mbappe and Neymar's arrival in the French capital, Unai Emery has made the former Manchester United man merely a squad player.

SportsMbappe: Ronaldo Was My Childhood Idol by itzblessed(op): 5:50pm On Dec 27, 2017
Kylian Mbappe has told Marca that Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo was his "idol" as a child but hopes he and his Paris Saint-Germain teammates can "send a message to the world" by scoring a landmark Champions League win at the home of the club that also tried to sign him last summer.

The 19-year-old joined PSG on a season-long loan from Monaco in August after scoring 27 goals in all competitions last season, with the French giants holding a mandatory purchase clause.

Champions League holders Real showed a strong interest in the France international and Mbappe told Marca: "There were a lot of transfer rumours, it's true that we spoke, but I think that is now in the past for me and for Real Madrid. Now I play at PSG and I'm going to defend these colours 100 percent.

"I chose PSG because it's the team of my city, it's like if a madrileno [Madrid born] boy of [Real] Madrid has the opportunity to play for his team and goes elsewhere, to another country. I wanted to play for PSG and I'm very happy with how things are going."

Mbappe believes his team can overtake Real and become "the best team in the world."

He said: "I'm very young. There's time but as I say, I want to play in the best team in the world in the future and I believe PSG has everything to achieve that. If this team grows with me, there is no reason to leave."

PSG have invested heavily in their team since Nasser Al-Khelaifi bought the club in 2011, notably in world-record signing Neymar and Mbappe last summer.

"Real have dominated football in recent years but it's not just them now," Mbappe said. "There are other big teams, like [Manchester] City, Juventus, Bayern [Munich] and we are also there. But I believe the team that wins our tie will be clear favourites to win the Champions League. If we are capable of eliminating Real then the other teams will fear us."... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com
SportsLooking Back At Kane's Super 2017 by itzblessed(op): 5:40pm On Dec 27, 2017
Harry Kane will finish 2017 as the top goalscorer in elite European football with 56 goals for club and country -- one more than Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi -- and he broke Alan Shearer's 22-year-old record for Premier League goals in a calendar year with 39.

Here we take a look at the Tottenham striker's stellar 2017, month-by-month ...

JANUARY
Kane got 2017 off to a flyer, scoring Spurs' first two goals in a 4-1 win at Watford on New Year's Day. He did not find the net in the win over Chelsea or the draw at Manchester City but in between he bagged a brilliant hat trick against West Brom. January finished in frustration as he was kept quiet in a 0-0 draw at Sunderland, denting Spurs' title push.

Best goal: vs. West Brom (4-0): Kane completed his first of seven hat tricks in 2018 by volleying home Dele Alli's scooped pass.

FEBRUARY
Kane scored only hat tricks in February, firing trebles past Championship club Fulham in the FA Cup fifth round and Stoke City in comfortable Spurs wins.

Best goal: vs. Stoke (4-0): Kane scored his second goal of the match with a brilliant first-time left-foot volley from Christian Eriksen's corner -- one of his best goals of the year.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com

SportsEx-arsenal Defender Emmanuel Eboue In Financial Ruin by itzblessed(op): 3:07pm On Dec 26, 2017
Former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue has told the Mirror he is financially ruined and is battling with suicidal thoughts.
Eboue, 34, has not played football since seeing his Sunderland contract cancelled after being hit with a year-long FIFA ban in March 2016 over a contractual dispute with a former agent.

The former Ivory Coast international said he is still living in the home he shared with his ex-wife Aurelie in North London before a divorce battle that saw her awarded all of their assets.

He said he was due to surrender ownership three weeks ago but remains in the house, with his belongings in bags, awaiting the order to leave.

SportsMan United Target Paulo Dybala And Malcom; Man City Eye Virgil Van Dijk by itzblessed(op): 8:33am On Dec 26, 2017
Manchester United to splash out on Dybala
Manchester United may have just spent a whopping £75 million on a new striker, but it seems they are not done yet. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic likely to leave at the end of his contract this summer and Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford still learning the ropes, it seems there may still be space for Juventus' Paulo Dybala.

The Daily Star report that the Argentine, who has been likened to Lionel Messi in terms of style, is on Jose Mourinho's shopping list and United hold an ace in the hole to get him. Javier Ribalta was appointed as their head scout in the summer and he previously worked with Dybala at Juventus... you see where this is going?

Henrikh Mkhitaryan's failure to cement his place could open up room for another No. 10 at the club and Dybala certainly ticks all the right boxes. But he would cost a pretty penny.

Or is it Malcom?
A cheaper option for United would be to snap up Brazilian wunderkind Malcom from Bordeaux.

The 20-year-old would cost around £33m, according to the Daily Mail, and the paper reports that the two clubs have started talks about a January deal which would see him immediately loaned back.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the winger, but when Jose Mourinho sets his sights on someone, he rarely loses.... <<< read more >>> @ www.galatixnews.com

He spent six years as an Arsenal player but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain can expect a mixed reaction upon his return to the Emirates Stadium with Liverpool on Friday. His line about Liverpool's "good form" soon after signing, in reference to a 4-1 win over an Arsenal team that had included him, did not help his cause. But there is more to it than that.

Many Gunners supporters were content to collect a fee that could rise to £40m for a player whose progress had stalled. Oxlade-Chamberlain wanted to leave for much the same reasons. SportsPep Sets Standard Mourinho Must Follow As United Plot Route Back To Top by itzblessed(op): 9:09am On Dec 20, 2017
Manchester United have not done a lot wrong this season but you wouldn't know it looking at the Premier League table.
One of the preseason favourites are 11 points adrift in the title race. It was briefly 14 at the weekend, before Jose Mourinho's team cut the deficit with a hard-fought 2-1 win at West Brom on Sunday.
Jesse Lingard, scorer of the second goal at The Hawthorns, said afterwards that in other seasons United's form -- which has seen them win seven of their last nine league games -- would be enough to sit top.
He's not wrong: United have 41 points after 18 games and in five of the last 10 seasons they would be top. In all the others the gap to the leaders would be no more than five points. It is their best start to a campaign since 2012-13, when they were crowned champions in Sir Alex Ferguson's last season. They are 12 points better off than they were at the same stage of the 2015-16 season -- Louis van Gaal's last in charge -- and eight points better off than after 18 games of last season.
It is clear United under Mourinho have made progress. Yet, it does not look like it will be enough to win a first championship for five years. You can argue that it is not Mourinho's failing. That, simply put, he has built a very good team which happens to be competing against a better one.
