Politics › Lakurawa Bandits Kill 3 Immigration Officers In Kebbi by iwaeda(op): 12:30pm On Nov 28, 2025 |
Gunmen suspected to be members of the Lakurawa terrorist group have attacked a Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) checkpoint in Bakin Ruwa, along the Maje border in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State, killing three officers.
The attack, which occurred around midnight on Wednesday, has heightened fear and tension among residents of border communities.
Multiple local sources told Channels Television that the terrorists invaded the immigration point unexpectedly and opened fire on officers on duty, killing three on the spot.
A security source said that the assailants fled through nearby bushes. The spokesperson of the Kebbi State Police Command, Nafiu Abubakar, said details of the latest assault were still sketchy.
Efforts to obtain information concerning the incident from the Nigeria Immigration Service in the state were unsuccessful. Officials could not be reached as of the time of filing this report.
However, some locals and members of various security agencies at Bagudu, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the unfortunate incident.
About a three weeks ago, a personnel of the Nigeria Customs Service was killed.
“The terrorists came in large numbers and started shooting sporadically. Everyone ran for safety,” a resident of the community spoke anonymously, told Channels Television.
The Customs personnel was killed on the spot before the attackers set the camp ablaze.
Several official vehicles were burnt in a similar attack in the Maje border axis, raising concerns over escalating insecurity along the Nigeria–Benin border corridor in Bagudo.
The Lakurawa gang has been linked to several violent incidents across parts of Kebbi State, targeting both security personnel and civilians.
Their motive for this latest assault remains unclear, but security authorities say investigations are ongoing. https://www.channelstv.com/2025/11/28/suspected-lakurawa-terrorists-kill-three-immigration-officers-in-kebbi/

Politics › Bandits Kidnap Many In Kurmaci, Danko-Wasagu, Kebbi by iwaeda(op): 7:15am On Nov 28, 2025 |
A day after 24 schoolgirls were rescued from bandits, many people were reportedly abducted at Kurmaci community in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The bandits, numbering over 30, were said to have invaded the community on Wednesday night while residents were asleep.
During the attack, an unspecified number of people were abducted, while many others sustained injuries.
It would be recalled that the 24 schoolgirls rescued on Tuesday were abducted from the same area, and days before their release, over 40 others were reportedly taken from communities in the local government.
A resident who spoke to our correspondent, Aliyu Dan Galadima, said the latest incident marked the third attack on the community within one month.
“We have been attacked repeatedly by bandits. Some of our people were killed, while those abducted are yet to be released,” he said.
He added that days before the incident, an unspecified number of people were abducted at Gandun Wasagu, another community in the local government area.
“This is one of the many attacks we have witnessed here. It is unfortunate that this area has become a major target for bandits. We call on the government to station security operatives in the area so our people can go about their daily activities in peace,” he said.
The communities of Kurmaci, Gandun Wasagu, and Bena have faced numerous attacks due to their locations.
They lie along the border between Zamfara and Kebbi states and are situated on major bandit routes from the Zamfara and Niger axis.
When contacted, the police spokesperson in Kebbi, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, said he was not aware of the incident.
He said he would reach out to the DPO in the area to verify what happened, but had yet to respond as of the time this report was filed. https://dailytrust.com/day-after-rescue-of-24-schoolgirls-bandits-abduct-many-in-kebbi/?

Politics › Nigerian Police Retirees Scale National Assembly Gate To Demand Action by iwaeda(op): 5:06pm On Nov 27, 2025 |
Public hearings conducted by both the 9th and 10th National Assemblies overwhelmingly favoured the measure, which mirrors earlier exits from the CPS by the Military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). Some retired Nigerian Police Force (NPF) officers, otherwise known as the “warrior retirees,” scaled the gate of the National Assembly on Wednesday, demanding a meeting with the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio over the delayed passage of the bill that would allow police officers to exit the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the retired police officers were seen attempting to scale the gate of the National Assembly after security personnel locked it to prevent them from entering. The retirees insisted that all conditions for the bill’s passage had long been met. Public hearings conducted by both the 9th and 10th National Assemblies overwhelmingly favoured the measure, which mirrors earlier exits from the CPS by the Military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). High Chief Onyeike Chukwuma, a retired Superintendent of Police, told SaharaReporters on Thursday that surviving police retirees should not continue to be subjugated to a scheme that he described as “genocidal.” He emphasised that NPF retirees have already paid the supreme price, risking their lives, liberty, and rights to defend Nigeria against terrorists and bandits. “No country in the World subjects it's Police Retirees to the apron-strings and Whims and Caprices of the Selfish and greedy Profit oriented CPS after their hazardous nature of Service” Chukwuma said, noting that even Chile, from which Nigeria copied the CPS, respects the welfare of its retired officers. Meanwhile, the retirees, who insisted on meeting the Senate President, expressed frustration over being denied access. One of them was heard saying:“How do we get in? We won’t leave. Some of our members are already at the main gate. We are trying to get into the complex, but the security men have barricaded the entrance. A few of us have managed to enter, and we are waiting for instructions. "We need to go in and see the Senate President. He is the one holding us back; he is the one working against us. The House of Representatives has already responded to us — only the Senate remains.” The retired officers continued chanting in protest as they pressed their demands for access to the legislative chambers. The retirees vowed to continue their protest until the Senate acts decisively on the bill, warning that continued delay would amount to a grave injustice against men and women who served the nation under extreme conditions. https://saharareporters.com/2025/11/27/nigerian-police-retirees-scale-national-assembly-gate-demand-action-exit-contributory |

Konquest: This is a very BIG lie. Does that news make sense to you. Someone on this thread corrected you yet you still stuck to your FALSE narrative. It's an alleged accusation published by some media outlets out of desperation by some highly paranoid persons who are engaging in pure blackmail and just simply DIDN'T want to explore other options from the Oniru Royal Palace. It has become a common thing for some irresponsible people to claim VICTIMHOOD in order to blackmail others.
Legal punishments have to be put in place urgently to ensure that those who deliberately engage in spreading massive disinformation online and offline and fabricate defamation comments to tarnish the image of innocent people and political office holders are severely punished! The INEC in Lagos State ALSO officially debunked that allegation against the APC. Now, you the OP claim to be a Yoruba from Kwara BUT your level of pure narcissism, display of excitement, and gloating whenever bad things or news occur is highly suspect. There's a big trail of digital evidence from your threads and posts which show that you have a vicious habit of largely creating NL threads and posting bad news stories. This is a pure sign of narcism! Sheriff Quadry of "Nigeria Info 99.3" which I monitor via the mobile app from my location here is ALSO from Kwara State like you (that is if it is true that you are from Kwara) BUT I don't hear or see Sheriff online displaying your level of celebrating negatives because he has a very CLEAR sense of presence. You are obviously NOT very happy with your own life so you project it on others and it's obvious you CANNOT even make others happy hence you usually create threads amplifying negatives when INFACT there are positive stories as well.
I have to call you out because this is one of the reasons some NL posters suspect you aren't of pure Yoruba descent but an imposter (while also seeing you as an imposter who likes to GLOAT over bad news in Nigeria by creating threads and posts WITHOUT offering functional SOLUTIONS). You don't have to be a supporter of that party called APC but you MUST be careful about gloating or showing excitement with those "multiple grinning or laughing emoticons" you ALWAYS use in your insidious posts which show that you are enjoying seeing the pain of others. Those are clear signs of Narcissism. Period. Interestingly Oniru is behind Nigeria info, Jimi Disu, that mentioned earlier is from Lagos. Quadri is from Kwara. Ask artisans, traders, bus drivers near you. It is not just Oniru. Sincerely ask around. Amo iru yin. |
