Politics / 2023 Election Won't Only Be Between Southwest Vs South East by Iwillbegreat: 8:33am On Dec 22, 2018
Power of presidency will surely return to the south after 2019 no matter who won 2019, be it APC or PDP party.

People are quick to say the 2023 is between southwest(Yoruba) vs south East(Igbo).

They quickly forget there's the south south.

Right from democracy, the Yoruba have ruled the most in southern Nigeria.

Obasanjo..1999-2007
Osibanjo...2015...?

It's not fair to still see Yoruba claiming the presidency once again.

So from the south south, I think the people that might likely contest are:

Godwin obaseki.. governor Edo state
Udom Emmanuel.. governor akwa Ibom
Wike.. governor river state.

Who do you think deserve the presidency?

Politics / Edo Govt Pays Workers’ December Salary by Iwillbegreat: 7:07pm On Dec 21, 2018
…Obaseki urges peaceful celebrations

The Edo State Government on Friday paid salaries of workers for the month of December, following the directive of the Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr Crusoe Osagie, said “the governor’s decision to pay workers, mid-way into the month, was informed by the need to make money available for workers to do early shopping for the yuletide and avoid the artificial inflation caused by commodity distributors.”

He added: “Governor Obaseki wants workers to get value for their money before all the players in the commodity distribution chain cash in on the season and hike food prices.

“The governor does not want Edo workers to be caught in the middle of such manipulative tendency of middlemen and has urged workers to go about their celebrations peacefully.

“Edo workers can storm the market from today and shop for the season. 2019 promises to be a better year for workers in the state.”

The governor’s aide further said that governor Obaseki is committed to the welfare of workers in the state through innovative ways.

“ Several reforms have been carried out in the Edo State civil service, including world-class trainings for the workers, revamp of their work environment, timely payment of salary and the migration of work culture from analogue to digital platform for efficiency,” Osagie added.

Lol. Why you got to be so barbaric though? Learn some civility. You need it to continue existing among sane humans.

The point remains that Benin City has nothing much to offer than cultusm and hotels upon hotels and one or two clubs. Not everyone cares for those.

Lol. Tell me about it. I was in Benin last month...was there last week, too. I know Benin City very well. Yes, the town is pervaded by yahoo boys, still, Benin City isn't a place to have fun.

But then again, what counts as fun is very subjective, so...
if you want fun
Go to north east and have your body bombed away

Go to river state and watch how your head will be beheaded

Go to delta and see how they'll use you for ritual

Go to Lagos and watch how your manhood will be stolen

They are not signs of development. They are not even for effizy. They are built when needed simply for safety.
If there is a busy highway/motorway that people have need to cross frequently, then there should be a pedestrian bridge there. You won't likely find them on street roads and roads with multiple pedestrian crossings in any part of the world.
well according to them, pedestrian bridge must be built to show a city or state is developed.

What's the need of 5 pedestrian bridges when people aren't using them?

AutoJoshNG:
The new and only Pedestrian Bridge in Benin-city, the Edo state capital, is now open for public use.

The Pedestrian Bridge is situated across a federal highway – the Benin-Lagos expressway – in front of the main gate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

The Pedestrian Bridge was constructed by the Godwin Obaseki-led Edo state government.

Before now, no pedestrian bridge existed in the Benin-city. Though, this new pedestrian bridge is not the first to be constructed in the state capital.

The first Pedestrian Bridge was constructed in the early ‘90s. It was constructed about 500 meters away from where this new one is located. It was built in front of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

The UBTH Pedestrian bridge – the first to be built in Edo state – suffered severe lack of usage. Ostensibly, this led to its eventual dismantling and disappearance from that location. That Pedestrian Bridge was constructed by Lucky Igbinedion, during his stint as the Chairman of Oredo Local Government council.

It could be recalled that several students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have lost their lives while attempting to cross the ever-busy Benin-Lagos expressway to the institution’s campus. The most recent being the one involving a certain Late Rita Awele.

All these informed the decision by the Edo state government to construct a pedestrian bridge in front of the UNIBEN main gate.

The new Pedestrian Bridge was constructed by Hartland Construction.

There's no south east state or city better than Edo state or Benin city.

In south West only Lagos and Ibadan is better than Benin.

In the entire north only Kano and Kaduna
